this is actually the first album that hhu went for a ballad song where all of them are just singing, i swear it surprised us all! Mingyu and wonwoo were very involved in writing I can't run away bc they wrote this around the same time they wrote "Bittersweet" (mingyu and wonwoo's duet, it has an MV!!) Also, during Ready to Love era (last comeback) seventeen members were quarantined for 10 days bc they were exposed to a staff who got covid, so while quarantined in their own rooms in the dorms seventeen wrote the lyrics to all the songs in this album, which is actually SO COOL!
The Mafia Dance was during their LEFT & RIGHT era (Heng:garae album). Also, WOOZI and BUMZU are the main music producers of Seventeen. BUMZU is another great artist under P/ledis. You actually saw him on the guide, the one you thought would be related to Woozi because they look alike. He was SVT's vocal trainer back in predebut days, then he became their mentor and Woozi's partner in making the masterpieces. He's someone that Carats' respect and thankful for.

The Perf unit planned to have a diff genre, a more hip one, but after learning how the other tracks in this Attacca are, they changed it to a cuter sound. And we actually love it. I'm glad you love Seungkwan's vocals♡ I CAN'T RUN AWAY was mainly written and produced by Wonwoo and Mingyu. They were going to release a duet and this was the 1st song they created but when S.Coups heard it, he likes it a lot. And they thought that this will be better for a Hiphop Unit track instead. Wonwoo and Mingyu made another song for their duet which was BITTERSWEET. It's as painfully beautiful as I Can't Run Away.

Let me tell you, even tho hip hip unit is full of rappers, but they love ballad song and singing SOOO MUCH, to the point they have more non rap song in their discography (this is also a reason they not always push a rap part in every Seventeen tittle track) About imperfect love, they have a conflict whether they should make a new song or just go with this ballad song (Imperfect Love) But their leader Scoups (this man love ballad song SO MUCH) like this song, so he thought they can't let this song go on waste, and choose to release it in this album (also take note that Seventeen is a self producing group, so most of the decision is up to them) But if you curious how their rap song sound like, you can check Back it up, Trauma, Un Haeng Il Chi (my top 3)

I want to highlight this So this Seventeen album is quite different from the previous albums. First, every song in this album has a theme that is almost the same. Which is, about the love they receive, do they deserve it(?), the lyrics are like that.. I feel very emotional as a carat while listening to these songs and trying to understand the lyrics. maybe some people don't like this kind of music genre, so I really appreciate you for hearing and seeing the lyrics. And I want to recommend one song that really makes me emotional when reading the lyrics, "hug" by Seventeen.
Same thoughts about 2 Minus 1. I'm really curious how that song would have been if they didn't choose to go the Avril Lavigne inspired sound. I also adore SCoup's vocals. His voice here and Kidult makes me just wonder what a solo song would sound from him.
About the 2MINUS 1 yes it was too western anddd its because vernon said its a gift for international CARATS and both him and joshua was heavily inspired by 2000 pop rock especially AVRIL LAVIGNE

I'm happy that you're enjoying your time with SEVENTEEN so much^^ Little random TMI (just because I want to): SEVENTEEN is also called Sebongs because that's part of how you spell SEVENTEEN in Korean. (I mention it because I might mention "Sebong" myself since it's become a habit to me Lol) PANG! has been a grower for a lot of CARATs actually. A lot of us didn't expect for the song to be so soft too until we saw the song in the Highlight Medley^^ Also, just so you know, I've seen Koreans talking about the song; they say that the way they sing is really cutesy which fits the vibe a lot. Perf Unit also used words that are said to be kid-level words? Like, they're words that would be in children's textbooks rather than used in conversations which adds an extra level to the cutesiness of the song. You're also really consistent in your thoughts, haha. You've mentioned how much you love Seungkwan's vocals before but no worries, we love to hear the appreciation^^ Love that you love Imperfect Love so much! You even whistled to it, haha. Bumzu has been with Sebongie since even before debut as you would know in the guide, haha. He's a solo artist and a producer too. He works with PRISMFILTER which is a Producing Team. I've seen new CARATs say they confuse them at first^^ Hip-hop Unit writes all their lyrics for their raps in the OT13 songs and their own unit lyrics. oh no you’re not in the right album if you want to hear more rap from hiphop unit 😅 surprisingly this album is the first time HHU doing a ballad and put more vocals instead of rap in the song, but dont worry on their previous albums they definitely do rap-focused track on their unit song! 2 minus 1 actually inspired by early Disney Channel (2000ish) songs that you can say very American sounds indeed, vernon said it himself that he took inspiration from it. prior Attacca release vernon also often posted song recommendations mostly rock/pop punk genres (he barely posted on socmed, so it was surprising and a thrill for some fans who also spent their adolescence-teenage years listening to those genres), I guess he’s been reminiscing his teenage days 😂

Gosh I still can't get over this promotion, surprisingly Pang is one of my favourite songs coming from performance unit including Shhh and Lilili Yabbay (absolute fav). My favourite song from attacca is definitely the tittle track, idk the first time I heard I just love it so much same with Home and Thanks, these are my most favourite tittle track from seventeen. ;)
You should react next to their 8th mini album 'Your Choice' that is also a no skip album!

Little random TMI (just because I want to): SEVENTEEN is also called Sebongs because that's part of how you spell SEVENTEEN in Korean. (I mention it because I might mention "Sebong" myself since it's become a habit to me Lol)
PANG! has been a grower for a lot of CARATs actually. A lot of us didn't expect for the song to be so soft too until we saw the song in the Highlight Medley^^
Also, just so you know, I've seen Koreans talking about the song; they say that the way they sing is really cutesy which fits the vibe a lot. Perf Unit also used words that are said to be kid-level words? Like, they're words that would be in children's textbooks rather than used in conversations which adds an extra level to the cutesiness of the song.
You're also really consistent in your thoughts, haha. You've mentioned how much you love Seungkwan's vocals before but no worries, we love to hear the appreciation^^

Bumzu has been with Sebongie since even before debut as you would know in the guide, haha. He's a solo artist and a producer too. He works with PRISMFILTER which is a Producing Team. They've been with Sebongs since forever- before debut!

Hip-hop Unit writes all their lyrics for their raps in the OT13 songs and their own unit lyrics.
To give you a heads up when you react to more SEVENTEEN in the future (BTW, I hope you enjoy your break^^), Hip-hop Unit doesn't have many Rap songs? Or well, the fast raps that you've most likely seen before. They mostly focus on the other aspects of Hip-hop that aren't really known such as slower rap and such. So expect a lot of lofi-like songs, haha. But, this comeback has also been the only time they've come with a ballad so it's semi-unexpected for CARATs too^^
Also, don't expect to see Joshua singing so tough-like like in 24:24 in this video, he usually sings softer like in 25:12 of this video^^
I'm not sure about other Carats but when I heard that part (24:24), I was so shocked and could barely tell it was him for a second, haha.
Joshua's official position is actually Lead Vocal by the way.
I'm not sure about Machine Gun or whatever you said but, from what I know, Vernon actually took inspiration from Avril Lavigne so you were right about the 2010s, or 2000s and stuff. And the Westerness of the song, it makes sense since the inspiration was a Western Artist.

Also, about starting from debut up, Seventeen's debut title tracks are very fresh. Rookie SVT are known for that and are nicknamed Freshteen too. But some of their B-sides aren't going to be like that so just a heads up!
If you want me to recommend a song, though I know you're going from debut up, I would like you to watch "Pretty U"; It's been one of my favorites for a while so I can't help but to recommend it every and any time someone asks^^

seventeen's vocal team does not have a single bad music
It's okay but with Seventeen you are going to have aa looot of genres hzbshs not just the Kpop sound that is mainly because of Woozi ...If you asked anybody they are going to tell you that they have unique sound and that means they are very different. 2 Minus 1 was a gift to International Carat and it was released as a digital bonus track so yeap.
Since you said that Seungkwan is your favourite vocalist in Seventeen, you can react to some covers he has done. Here are my recommendations:

oh no you’re not in the right album if you want to hear more rap from hiphop unit 😅 surprisingly this album is the first time HHU doing a ballad and put more vocals instead of rap in the song, but dont worry on their previous albums they definitely do rap-focused track on their unit song!
2 minus 1 actually inspired by early Disney Channel (2000ish) songs that you can say very American sounds indeed, vernon said it himself that he took inspiration from it. prior Attacca release vernon also often posted song recommendations mostly rock/pop punk genres (he barely posted on socmed, so it was surprising and a thrill for some fans who also spent their adolescence-teenage years listening to those genres), I guess he’s been reminiscing his teenage days 😂

I feel like this is def one of their more experimental type of songs maybe? so yeah it can be a hit/miss or maybe it'll just start growing on you. I'm glad that they have the chance to try more stuff & branch out more tho.
