Yes exactly! Those mats can cause skin infections and cause the dog pain and even end his life. It's wonderful this groomer was able to get a vet to sedate the dog, together they saved this dog's life! ❤️🐕🐾

looks like a Puli, they are supposed to be have a "controlled matting" normally. not nearly as much as this, but they are somewhat used to matting

Rocky is a very handsome boy. You are probably the first human to ever show him love and affection. It's hard to believe that dogs and cats can forgive humans for being so cruel to them. Humans are the real animals not dogs and cats. They have forgiveness in their hearts unlike some humans. Thank you so much for saving this beautiful boy. You are an amazing person. I will never forget, I. Took in a hurt stray From my house area, took him to MY vet in the country , asked if he would give me a discount to help this guy. And fix him......he said , why sure what part of procedure or anesthesia shall I not do? You wanna PAY half. You get half.

@vdeniceeckert3494 Tell the Vet fine. And find another Vey. I found Planned Pethood. It's almost free compared to what I was paying. $75 BUCKS, At Planned Pethood was $7! For female cat spay, shots and parasites care. Huge different. No money? Some places find you a sponsor. Call Humane Society for clinics. As you were Soldier. Now you can join the ranks of us poor but proud pet rescuers!

I watch some different grooming videos but never have I seen dogs that look in such poor condition than the ones you groom. You deserve a lot of credit. ✌️

This poor baby. Broke my heart to see him in this situation. When we lived out of town, we had several dogs and cats that people would dump out in the desert. Several had to be put down. Too bad the ones who do this don’t see the results of their actions. You are so gentle and kind to this poor fellow. Hopefully he will find. A better life now.

I didn’t know if you were ever going to find that doggie under all that hair but you did! He is so sweet and I am so happy that he has a home and someone who loves and takes care of him. I have never seen a neglected dog like this in California or anywhere in the USA for that matter. They are so lucky to have a good person like you who feels their pain.😊
A rescue in Los Angeles finds these ungroomed matted dogs often strays in the desert areas or industrial areas from neglect.
When I was a young girl, an aunt and uncle had a dog outside their yard. I believe it was a Maltese or Lhasa Apso. His hair was so matted almost like this 😒 I'm sure he was in discomfort or pain🥺It's been years and I still think of that dog.

He looks like a type of dog called Puli - a Hungarian shepherd dog. They have huge hair but, of course, not neglected like this one had.

They had to sedate him most likely through the catheter in his arm because the dog was fearful and combative, and it was not safe to shave him that way, and because this type of serious matting can be painful to the poor dog when shaving it out. He did a very kind and good service to this precious dog… and now this dog is in the hands of loving people because of the good that he did! Why do you show such lack of loving kindness that you condemn him for it?

If the dog was aggressive it would’ve made people nervous. Also they may have been worried about diseases.
If you're in an area with a high Muslim population, it's a religious belief that dogs are unclean and they can't touch them.
And this dog is a Puli and needs extraordinary grooming. He must have been stolen or abandoned😢😢

The video of his first belly rub was amazing. Initially, he looked like - “what’s this?“. Then you stopped rubbing for a moment, and he laid back and lifted his legs to expose more of his belly for more rubs. And now he is addicted to affection. You turned an aggressive, uncomfortable street dog into a loving and loyal pet.

Wow, there was a dog in there the entire time. Has got to feel so good to be free from all that matted fur and so glad he was adopted. Great job cleaning Rocky up and giving him a new leash on life.

It's good the vet wanted you to stay. There can be reactions with sedation. He did ok with all the noise at the vet area you had to work. It's stunning watching you get that matted coat off.

It's less active cruelty and more chronic neglect. It's not what they're doing to the dog, it's what they aren't doing for the dog that's the problem.
