@Ellen Mint: as I was growing up....and I did this fast...my Body by itself we're growing faster as my Skin can follow, I build Muscles because I was very sportive...and this was stretching my Skin so that I get some Stretchmarks in my upper Legs, in my little growing Breasts a s o.! They are tiny, but I was sooo disturbed about! I feel them as so ugly, I hated them!
I was growing up in a very "old Fashion, traditional Family" , my Mom was "straight", and never talking to me about Skin-Care, Body-Care - only the very important, neccessary Things.
I was long time "supressed" , depressed (?) about this "Body-Fails" till I start working and become educated in my Job's and Studies in Medicin...then I've found out what was going on with me and my Body.
This is' one Point why I like our James Welsh so much, his Content! He is' a good Teacher for Young People, and tell them the right and important Behaviors! 👏👏👏🙏🥰❣️

I always hated trying to see how makeup covered acne and all of the videos I saw people use filters and had so much light on themselves that you couldn’t really even see what it was actually covering. None of the typical retouches we typically see, all “imperfections” on display. Impressive to see what her products actually looked like in use on her natural skin.

    ADDITIONAL NOTES:
    1) the Kylie ‘look alike’ is for sure a deep fake and not a phone app. The Reface all I was referring to doesn’t allow you to put a celeb face on you. Only put your face on a video of a celeb.
    2) the before and afters are 100% the same people. If you go further back on their profiles, there’s not a huge difference in their appearance. But the trend obviously took off so they go to extremes to look very different!
    3) I’m so sorry about the drilling but I have 1 month of non stop work being done in my house so I have no other time to work!
    4) Also the moisturiser was announced the day after filming this! It’s glow recipe! Their new plum plump hyaluronic Cream

When everyone is beautiful, no one is. If we were all beautiful, all those filters wouldn’t cause harm (as many do say), since beautified photos were just a variation of the innate beauty we all posses (one cannot be more human or more alive than any other human). I tried using photoshop on myself and always undo it afterwards, because I hate seeing myself altered! The only thing I do sometimes is a little blurring or editing spots, because hormonal acne hits me hard sometimes. I always make the experience that if I don't like a new picture of me, I'll most likely will like it a few weeks later. And if I remember correctly there's a certain psychological reason behind it, because quite a lot of people experience this, too.
That's why I recommend, take a few pictures, look at them, maybe hate them, but don't edit or delete them and look at them a few weeks later once again. Do you still hate them? This might make you love your true self a little more.

I know it sounds stupid but I just didn't realize the texture on my skin would still show through the makeup. It'd be flaky and show my pores, now it's not so bad cause I moisturize enough but also I realized it's normal too.

Those videos of people showing off their real skin and the texture of their skin really helped me. I had a very bad relationship with my skin for a long time, I was born with extremely bad eczema and the primary area it chose to hit was my face. Having that much irritation and dryness on my face has made it so that now even when my ezcema is mostly under control (thankfully without topical steroids) my skin is textured noticeably textured especially around my nose and cheeks. My pores have blown open from the constant irritation and I have scars from the open wounds I would get from the cracking on my skin just from the sheer dryness of it. When I was just getting into makeup properly at around 14/15 I was pulled in by the filters, the RUclipsrs with pro lighting telling me that this one foundation is so skin like but will cover anything "flawless and no one would know you're wearing it" is the kind of thing they'd say. I would save my money buy this foundation or primer or powder whatever it was and then think my skin was fundamentally broken because i didn't look like they did. This rhetoric was still present in my mind up until about a year and a half ago when I found skincare people online, people showing their skin close up and unfiltered. After consuming this content through lockdown and realising that I wasn't a freak, I wasn't terrible at base makeup and my skin wasn't broken I decided to entirely redo how I put makeup on. I learned about skincare, how to get my skin as hydrated and moisturised as I could, how to control my texture with the right products and my skin actually improved. I no longer use full coverage foundation, as I now know with my skin type it will ALWAYS look cakey, I no longer strive to cover every line pimple or freckle I use a tinted moisturiser most days and I think I look better now than before.
I still struggle with my skin sometimes i look in the mirror and wonder why I had to have this skin and not flawless poreless skin like other people. Being online and seeing people looking inhumanly smooth from a young age has damaged my perspective on what skin can look like and i am still unpacking that now, it is the foremost issue i have with my physical appearance and I think some of that comes from seeing people with filters and pro lighting and good angles and thinking I should strive always to look like that.
