Thank you for your comment and support. I would say that you are probably correct. The Dominicans don’t have anything to gain by finding out they have the wrong remains.
Were you able to see the documentary that just came out? There are articles about it at the UK newspaper The Guardian, and the Spanish one El País today. The theory about the remains in Santo Domingo is that his remains were divided in two. One part in Seville, the other in Santo Domingo. This is not in the documentary from RTVE, but it’s what some historians say. The idea that Colón’s family was Jewish and that he wrote only in Spanish (Castellano) has been circulating for awhile now. I find interesting that the remains in Seville do not have his head. At least they didn’t show it, and they said they only have small bones in bad condition. They however confirmed the bones in Seville are the true remains of Colón, but they didn’t show his skull.
This was a highly interesting video Col. Martin. I, too, believed Columbus was buried in Spain. He was a colorful and interesting explorer and very cruel to the Aztecs. By the way, we have discussed a possible video on the "The Massacre of Simpsonville." If you are still interested in visiting the site on Rt. 60 and sharing the history of this massacre, I am going to recommend that you contact Robert Bell in Louisville. Bob has worked with The Colored Troops for many years. I do not have a telephone number for him, but he lives on Alpha St. in Louisville.
My paternal lineage though ancestry is related to Christopher and Diego Colon. Diego Colon is the eldest son of Christopher Columbus. Diego Columbus married María Álvarez de Toledo y Rojas. The lineage runs in Spain, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and possibly Cuba. In the Dominican Republic of Spain Second Admiral Diego Columbus, as Governor of the Indies until 1511, thereafter as Viceroy of the Indies.and also in 1520-1524 Second Admiral Diego Columbus Governor of Dominican Republic of Spain. My connection is with the Toledo, Lebron, Quinones families. My 12th great grandfather and great grand mother was Cristobal Lebron de Urena and Maria Enriquez de Quinones Y Toledo who were related with the Spanish Royal families of Aragon, Leon and Castile in Spain Cristobal Lebron was Governor of the Dominican Republic through the Royal Spanish courts. Their sons my 11th Great grandfather Jeronimo Lebron de Quinones was Governor of Puerto Rico and his brother Lorenzo Lebron de Quinones was Governor of Colima, Mexico. The Colons are related to me. My maiden name is Lebron. That would be weird if it was my 12th Great grandfather who was mistaken for Christopher Columbus buried in Spain. Cristobal Lebron de Urena was Governor of the Dominican Republic after Diego Colon. Cristobal Lebron de Urena died November 24, 1539 he was related to the Spanish Royal families.
It’s was not only a small base. This changed the whole world. Cities sprung all over with renaissance and medieval architecture with lots of gold and marble, a lot more advanced than what was present in the US at that time. New Universities, new governments, trade and commerce, new unknown vegetables and produces we now consider part of our cooking staples in the kitchen all over the planet. The Spanish culture and language spread all over the continent, and the immigration from Europe filled the continent. Still today the immigration continues. In La Hispaniola, Santo Domingo became the base for the Spanish Empire, and a whole new world expanded from there on, to the US north to South America. Remember the first developed cities in Florida, and the South of the US, and California were also by the Spanish conquistadors.
DNA tests don't lie, but people do... Anyways I think his bones would be safer in Spain. There's some people in the Americas that are mad and take their frustration onto his monuments look what happened in the U.S. for example.
This is a great channel. We would love to visit Santo Domingo.
Thanks for your support! We have some more Caribbean history videos coming out in the next few weeks!

Sorry, Col. Carson, I referred to you as Col. Martin. I have that name on my brain today.
St Brendan was there first ,i have no proof ,but just saying
He very well may have been! That’s one of the reasons why I mentioned him being so controversial.
Nobody. The names in latin are a code. The head of the expedition was not called this way 😅
Does it matter? Yea because i dont want to visit a tomb hes not even in! Whats the point. It matters!
I understand however until the Dominican Republic allows DNA testing we won’t know.
Spain didn't discover anything. It was just the 1st European country, to set up a base for independent commerce that still exists to this day.
So they discovered it for European commerce then?
@@familytreenutshistorygenealogy I don't think that was the intent. But It was the beginning of the worlds 1st global superpower.
It was discovered on behalf of Spain.

Yes they did !!! You just jealous that the Anglo didn’t

hi Russ...Are you kin to KIT CARSON ?
We have to go back to Northern Ireland before we have connecting ancestors. That’s definitely a relationship I’d love to claim!
