Today I walked through the UN Village in Hannam-dong, where many celebrities in Korea live. The distinctive quiet that distinguishes it from the crowded area around here is its charm. Nestled on a hill overlooking the Han River, it is a favorite for those who admire the wealth of Korea. It is also a very expensive place. I hope that this video will convey the quiet mood of this place indirectly. :)
저는 오늘 대한민국의 많은 유명인들이 살고 있는 한남동 유엔빌리지를 걸어 보았습니다. 주변의 혼잡한 지역과는 구분되는 특유의 조용함이 이곳의 매력입니다. 한강이 내려다 보이는 언덕에 자리 잡은 이곳은 대한민국의 부유함을 선망하는 사람들에게 선호됩니다. 그만큼 매우 비싼 곳이기도 하죠. 이번 영상을 통해 간접적으로나마 이곳의 한적한 정취가 전해졌으면 합니다. :)
[ Location ]
The United Nations Village was formed in the late 50s by creating a residence for foreign engineers. However, by providing the perfect view of the Han River, the land price skyrocketed. It is also excellent in Feng Shui geography, and has been favored by the top 1% of business people.
One of the most prominent reasons for celebrities to go to the UN Village is the thorough security system. It is well known as a place where even a large number of muzzle guns are concentrated, so that even a single mouse can't be seen. At the beginning of the UN Village, common security operated by the municipality is resident, and most houses have their own security guards. In addition, the number of households in each building is small, so security and privacy protection are excellent.
In addition, luxury villas in UN Village have fewer households than apartments, ensuring perfect privacy. It has a complete access control system. Usually, celebrities have a greater need for their own independent living space than the general public.
For the general public, the value of investment is a priority, but privacy is more important than stars. In the case of high-end villas, privacy is thorough because it is an independent structure or has separate entrances.

5 years ago I was working in this area. I walked every day from the bus station. Missed this place so much. Thank you for this nice video🤗 My memories in this place are still clear.

I lived there in the 60's and early 70's..thank you for the time travel...I remember a long downhill by Hilltop apartments that lead to the railroad tracks that ran along the Han and faced what is now Gangnam. Then it was all farmland. I lived in#48...then houses were split halves, like ours was 48a and 48b. We lived in a. It got the kitchen and the maid's quarters that me and my auntie got. Parents sectioned off part of the living room for their bedroom. After b moved out, we got the whole thing and my parents finally got a bedroom XD
So did I for about 6 months in 1968. Then we moved into a house.

Hi! What I liked so much, in this neighborhood, looks like Beverly Hills, were blossom trees, trees and perspectives to Han River! I felt so sorry for the how were cut those trees, like in Romania! Looks like someone wants to kill them. There were and some nice buildings. But nothing special. I suppose, the artists, the Idols and their lifes, make this place so special. Well, everytime when I see these streets in the slope, I think that must be very funny, when is snow. Thank you for walk! Be healthy and happy! 💜

Can you freely walk in there or do you have any permission? I thought that place would be full of lamborghinis and other sport cars but with some exceptions they seem to have quite normal cars. Also surprised to see no cafes or convenience stores there, doesn't look really comfortable if you need anything.
You dont need any permission to hang around yes it is somewhat too calm and vacant to live 🤓

한국은 가난한동네건 부자동네곤 주차문제가 항상잇음. 일본처럼 차고지증명제? 주차할곳 확보된 사람만 차를 살수 잇게 하는게 어떨지. 넘 복잡하고 엉망임 차때문에
