It is terryfing how many bands can play metal on at least decent level if not good. Almost every week I run into some unknown to me band which plays better and has better production than most of the smaller bands from 1980's and 1990's.

sweet! definitely gonna check out Emprise. Athys sounds kinda generic, but it's from 98, they were young, and Metal Archives doesn't say much, but I really hope those guys are still writing music in different projects.

Oh and I hate to double post but stillseek yeah yeah. I'm in my late thirties you better believe I used that program a lot back in the day. You could go through people's shared files and find so many metal bands you've never heard of and if it was someone who was uploading quickly oh man I would drain them. That's actually why I'm such a big fan of the random band button because it's almost like a continuation of doing stuff like that.
I love Soulseek. Now, here's the thing: I'm not sure if the band (in the given case they ever see one of my videos xD) will be happy with the fact that I downloaded their stuff. But it's definitely something worth trying!
Division black noise really sounded good and would have been one of those type of bands that I would have immediately skipped just based on the name alone. Just like for the longest time I never checked out the death metal band baby stab horror because the name was so fucking dumb and then I finally decided to check it out since there was a CD for four bucks and it sounds pretty much like you know your big name polish death metal bands like hate or Vader to a degree
@@ShaolinLambKiller Tottally! Sometimes it's important to pay attention to the name/art, as a musician or band... But then I think of all the names OG BM and DM have and it's like... 😂 Just make to have your best banger as the first song and that will maybe bypass the name and art! Actually I cut of a part of the video where I specifically talk about that , to make sure to have your best stuff as openers, makes no sense to have a filler as the first song... Which actually happens
@headbangfridays I know I don't understand that myself. I don't think a lot of people take into account First Impressions matter. And I don't think a lot of people understand how to lay out an album so it Ebbs and flows. That way you're not ever tired or wanting the album to end prematurely. Kind of view it like as in a movie there is an introduction buildup climax and crescendo out. And I know nowadays like especially with the amount of material I do a lot of my releases is exactly the order in which I wrote them. But it is a natural flow to it that just works out. I mean yeah sometimes occasionally I might change out the first and last song but it's not too often that's usually reserved for my more important I guess label releases and also with those tend to have other people involved and they put their two cents in and how it should be presented to a listener
@@ShaolinLambKiller Exactly! For example I always take Reign in Blood as a perfect blue print, you open the album with an absolute devastating Jab, keep on punishing the listener throughout the whole album and finally PUM...
