I would also mention Horizon Focus. The 20 Ability Haste helps spamming w while the passiv also gives 10% bonus dmg, since you are always playing on range. The reveal can also help hitting successive Ws to proc Kaisa passiv, which will often end up killing the enemy, while the AoE vision can tell you if the enemy is isolated and it's safe to fly in to catch them. The vision is probably better in SoloQ than in competetive because there are less tanks to block your 2nd w and you're more likely to find catches, while in Proplay you might rather have more dmg than a Zhonyas, since you are gonna play on range together and have peel, while you are probably playing a poke comp, which means you might be losing the fight anyways if the enemy managed to engage you.
Horizon could be potentially last item, in most of the tests done on other ap champs, rabadon just does so much more damage even with the 10% buff of horizon that the vision might not be that worth it
Personally I don’t buy because landing a W already gives you true vision on the target. Although I don’t know how useful the horizon focus 10% more dmg passive is, to me I reads as if it only procs on the second hit.
@@S38RXY didn't play that much kaisa and thought the w reveal was much shorter than 4 sec, so I guess the reveal is kinda useless. The AoE vision can still be nice to find catches and Horizon should be higher dmg than Zhonyas (the 10% dmg amp also works for the ability that procs it), so it should be best item if you don't need Zhonyas and rather have more dmg. Might even be viable to build before Cryptbloom if the enemy builds no MR, but it should be very close
The W spam can also come online earlier if you skip finishing Ludens for a nLarge Rod, bcz you still need another Amp Tome after Ludens. Luden's passive IS NOT the reason why you build the item, it's bcz no other lost chapter item fits her and you want Q evolve to wave clear. Getting a rod post lost chapter makes W evolve 950 gold cheaper. Also depending on the situation you might want to get Ionians over Sorcs even tho Mpen is great for this build. The reason behind is because what actually deals a ton of dmg isn't W itself like the older version, but the passive proc, where Ionians compensate the cd in case of a miss.
Thanks for this video LS, I really loved how you explained and justified it! She’s my 2nd favorite champion to play overall in the game and has been for quite some time, I love how much the hybrid build is legitimized with her. My only question for clarification is if there is anything different with the stat shards or if its the standard (AS/AdF/HP).
in your last costream with DonJake im pretty sure you said you had the AP kaisa video all done but you said something across the lines of not feeling motivated enough to bother with content like this anymore. how you been in the scene for years including league and you have been constantly talking to pros and nothing seems to change in meta. im currently listening the entire vod again to find it so worst case scenario about 4 and a half hours of 2x speed
@@LSXYZ9 i left a comment a couple hours after my previous one but it seems to have disappeared? perhaps because of the twitch link but ill reiterate it. all timestamps are for the donjake costream vod. when i said 'previous comments' i was talking about your previous comments. although other peoples comments are technically a factor as well but outside of scope for this. 02:37:48 is the main reason/thought behind my comment when talking about 'previous comments.' you said you had all the things ready to create the video and that you tried to make it twice but you believed it didnt matter. 02:31:08 you mention that for years (2018-2021) people would flame you for pointing out itemization and how people thought it was easiest thing to point out. you talk about how now a days (especially within the last 2 weeks) people on twitter are talking about items/itemization including previous flamers. lastly at 0:15:04 you talk about having conversations with pro players about ap kaisa and mention that their coaches wont let them play it or try it all this together made me seem like you felt defeated in even trying to create educational content on league especially when it focuses on builds in this case. you have mentioned that you have been in the esports scene for years and league for such a long time and that you feel like you havent done enough for the community.
Thank you LS for making this video, explaining something I have been doing since basically forever ( 4 years). Over and over I had this discussion and having a person with this much reach and trust makes my future discussions easyer. Still I hope Riot never sees that, else my main and my way to build her will get nerved into the ground. e2Ælu out.
I really enjoyed the practice tool demonstrations comparing Dcap & Liandry. Could perhaps have been expanded, showing why Horizon Focus or other items are omitted. Much love
Just tested this myself, in the order of: Manamune, Luden's, Crypt, Raba, Liandry. If one item is replaced with Horizon, 1 W deals less damage. (target: 3000hp, 50MR. Stacked eyeball collection)
@@koenraadhendricusdoes the horizon focus passive help the second W if you hit them within 6 seconds? the reveal also makes it easier to hit it i guess
Another ap kai'sa video i saw a few years ago pointed out the most important tip; you need to recognize if you are in poke mode, or teamfight mode. In poke mode it is okay to throw out low percentage W before an objective comes into contest. If you miss a w just before a fight commences you lock yourself out of having a meaningful impact for yhe remainder of the w cd; therefore hold your W until it is a high percentage land (only the first one), after that the chaos of a team fight lines up easy w's for you.
Patch 14.15 on Kai'sa Kraken first 49.67% win rate and 32.53% pick rate. Eclipse first 50.67% win rate and 28.79% pick rate. Statik first 51.68% win rate and 24.76% pick rate. Manamune first 47.83% win rate and 10.8% pick rate. When you look at the completion of the second item it's in average at minute 18 for all builds, and yet again, Luden's is last. Seeing the quite underwhelming win rate for this build path, I'm not convinced it's broken.
oooooo that was a great video! although I don't like you giving our secrets away more widely than they already are hahahah xD also there is counter to this in my opinion. and it's destroying kai'sa early and ending as soon as possible but as far as countering her when she's already hitting her power spikes. yeah no counterplay just the way we like it
Great vid, I think such informative build/champs breakdowns are awesome and you should focus on that. Me, personally, would love to see your take on how to build Volibear :D
while i don't believe that the build is broken at least in soloQ i appreciate that you walked back on the Liandry's statement after the testing because that made alot of ppl just buy it not realizing Dcap is actually better because her W not only can proc her passive if you hit 2 but also it applies her passive on-hit damage which has an ap ratio in of itself
Ever since the Ezreal Kleptomancy/First Strike, Future's Market, fast ramping builds, I always thought that ramping was underrated and that players just needed to test it out on different champions. With the addition of the skillpoint it makes sense that it Kai'Sa would find good use of a similar ramping build. It's honestly probably good on A LOT of ADC's. I imagine Kog'Maw after the buffs could do something similar. Smolder and Senna don't need it because their ramping is to do with their stacks, but it could still work really well on them and/or others.
Wordy info addition here for people considering the build as this was one of my main builds for years (obviously with an alternative to bloom) and I played it a lot less from early last year. It may be better now as AP items are a lot stronger, but the main issues back then were the prevalence of tanky champs who shrug off your W and block for the squishies. Also you forgo a lot of sustained damage by having low attack speed. Further, opponents can interact by dodging it, and when they do the cooldown is very long which lowers your sustained output even more. E upgrade is doable with just attack speed boots and nash if you wanted to go that route. It's not important but the two things that are extremely important are your Q and E evolves. Note - Runes do not contribute to your 100 stat required to evolve, and you need to factor in your ad / as per level to figure out exactly what level Q evolve is possible. I spent days working out the quickest way to get to 100 in each. Can't remember for Q how I did it, should be manamune alone with getting tear first to start spam stacking it as you do need that bonus to get you to 100 sooner. but for W (no ap increase per level like AD) it was worth getting an extra tome before going for the combine cost on ludens if you didn't have the gold for combine and an extra tome as well. An extra tome before combine is 400g and will get you over 100 ap. Combine is 600g and will leave you at 95 ap so you'll need to spend another 400g (total 1,000g) to get your W upgrade. This build is super fun when you do well, and much more playable the less tanks the enemy has. You can melt people from range and can one shot, it is very satisfying. But it has it's downsides and you will feel a lot weaker than a normal kaisa build if you are behind, or they are good at dodging your W becuase it is quite slow / telegraphed. It was much easier when I was the only one playing it, but people caught on quick!
This is why LS is THE GOAT! Its a shame ranked ladder quality is terrible because 99% of players don't care to optimize their champions or refuse to get off of outdated builds like Shiv
The problem or the issue with this build is the time that you need to be online which is when you have 2 items so the gold you will take from treasure would be better for me i think especially that blossom CD doesn't really matter for you also ludens stacks yea you will miss some damage but it's negligible like nothing the only good thing is the stacking of tear but as i said in my opinion getting to 2 items faster is more important than stacking tear faster
Finally a league video about a strong champ and build that actually teaches you why and how to play it rather than just a game that some cracked high elo player smurfed in using said build
I am honestly surprised that LS doesn't deem Ingenious Hunter as a viable pick here. The faster tear stacking may be negligible, but you'd thing that faster accumulation of Luden stacks/lower cooldown on Cryptbloom heal would be a very good thing for this build
A month ago he thought Ingenious was better. But he said in this video he tested runes and items more. Came to the conclusion that relentless or treasure hunter is just better.
I have been practicing kaisa ap a couple of times, really fun, I was wondering if the W is the first skill to improve or is the Q being situational, and in addition to that the type of boots you wear
So, I know you mentioned, but in a bit more detail, why is Ingenious Hunter not considered a good option over Relentless or Treasure? I know when originally crafting the build Ingenious was considered for the extra procs on Casters Companion and other items, did you run the stats and find out that its more worthwhile to have the extra gold or MS?
I would love to have more videos like this one, it’s a way better visual way, for the more casual person. I am really happy you checked the rabadons vs liandry, because I immeadiatly checked my self what the stat comparison was and was a little confused when on stream you were saying liandry deals more, when it is slightly less. Best argument I could see there, was you could have an amplifying tome on top of your liandry with 600 extra gold and the build path is probably better, but the rabadons burst is pretty heavy.
We need you to make more content like this. This was too the point well edited and everything. Make your thinking more accessible to everyone and let's change this mind control everyone seems to be under
Is eclipse first item at all justifiable? It gives a lot of ad for a quick q evolve, and I think you don't necessarily need the mana from manamune if you take pressence of mind/ biscuits, and there is also the new blue buff that goes to your whole team. Going nashors 2nd leaves you with all 3 abilities evolved, and you can always pivot to the full ap build later in the match. Maybe it is better in solo q?
To the point about people wanting all 3 upgrades, there was a time where you kind of just settled for 2 instead of 3. AD Kai’Sa didn’t really worry about getting W upgrade, and AP Kai’Sa didn’t care too much about Q. After some changes in numbers and items, people found ways to get to 3 upgrades, but it really is not necessary for certain builds.
What about the eclipse into nashor into shadow flame build? Hits like a truck as well. You must start with dorans though and keep it until level 14 (q evolves at 10 with eclipse+dorans).
Considering the items recommended by LS ingenious hunter should be the best of the hunter bunch. It benefits Ludens the most, reduces tear stacking time and Zhonya cd. Also Domination/inspiration is a good rune combo as well.
which stat shards would be optimal? is there a threshold with the Ability Haste in slot 1 to hit or is Attack Speed better for last hittin? 2nd adaptive force pretty much. verdict on 3rd? not sure on either, early hp ( keep in mind more base hp means more hp on levelups) or scaling as you want to be online arround 20+ mins anyways?
I’ve always been confused on this but if kaisa has a 130% Ad scaling and 45% Ap scaling on her W, why not just get enough AP to evolve then Go full AD? What if her build was Liandrys and Void staff then Full AD?
I remember previous iterations of this build including Ingenious Hunter, and seeing it walked back here in favor of Relentless or Treasure is interesting. Having played a crapton of this build over the past few weeks (albeit in pisslo), I imagine it’s because IH doesn’t really break any important timings with any of the core three items and Horizon Focus being removed from the recommended items. Is this accurate?
I've got a question regarding her scaling on w. Does the plasma applying scaling fo her passive overweight the fact that her w scales better with ad? as in w(130% ad scaling and 45 % ap scaling and up to 25 % passive ap scaling and % health ap scaling). If it doesnt overweight, woudln't an item like spear of shojin also be quite good after cryptbloom because of spell cd, ad scaling and percent spell dmg?
Great build, i just feel like it is counterred by champs like udyr going one mr item in their core build and just blocking most of ur w casts with their own shield. In the games where i encountered those kind of champs i wasnt able to get of enough poke and therefore was missing the utility from e upgrade to be able to kite their engange. I must admit that i did not have void yet, so maybe skipping the rabbadons for void would win me those games. Great video
Question. Is it worth going Ingenious Hunter for faster stacking of Manamune, cd on Zhonya’s and cd on Cryptbloom (maybe you get it off twice in a extended fight?? Prob not tho) ?
I'm curious how this would translate to midlane Kai'Sa, since that's something that is still seeing play in both soloQ and occasionally in pro. Is this build strictly viable bot lane, or could it be run mid? Are there any changes that you would make mid, or other requirements on the team (specific junglers?) that make it viable/unviable?

all timestamps are for the donjake costream vod. when i said 'previous comments' i was talking about your previous comments. although other peoples comments are technically a factor as well but outside of scope for this.
02:37:48 is the main reason/thought behind my comment when talking about 'previous comments.' you said you had all the things ready to create the video and that you tried to make it twice but you believed it didnt matter.
02:31:08 you mention that for years (2018-2021) people would flame you for pointing out itemization and how people thought it was easiest thing to point out. you talk about how now a days (especially within the last 2 weeks) people on twitter are talking about items/itemization including previous flamers.
lastly at 0:15:04 you talk about having conversations with pro players about ap kaisa and mention that their coaches wont let them play it or try it
all this together made me seem like you felt defeated in even trying to create educational content on league especially when it focuses on builds in this case. you have mentioned that you have been in the esports scene for years and league for such a long time and that you feel like you havent done enough for the community.
just checking in this 1 time here
Love pls more of this kinda videos anytime.
Really really well put together very digestible, logical and fun to watch.
glad to have you back.
Really love this type of video, i hope most of my future teammates watch this but till then i will play Kai'sa with this build.
Thank you so much.
Thank you LS for making this video, explaining something I have been doing since basically forever ( 4 years). Over and over I had this discussion and having a person with this much reach and trust makes my future discussions easyer. Still I hope Riot never sees that, else my main and my way to build her will get nerved into the ground. e2Ælu out.
Took me a while to get adjusted to this build instead of the usual kraken/eclipse one, great vid overall.
@@ffll8427 That is true, but Kaisa passive already grants vision, so I think the vision portion of horizon focus is not very impactful.
@@koenraadhendricus Thanks
Another ap kai'sa video i saw a few years ago pointed out the most important tip; you need to recognize if you are in poke mode, or teamfight mode. In poke mode it is okay to throw out low percentage W before an objective comes into contest. If you miss a w just before a fight commences you lock yourself out of having a meaningful impact for yhe remainder of the w cd; therefore hold your W until it is a high percentage land (only the first one), after that the chaos of a team fight lines up easy w's for you.
Thank you so much LS! First ranked I play after your video, I got to play against Kai'Sa top trying out your build! Thanks for the free LP!
Really good video, enjoyed it, I play ap kai'sa since you mentioned it for the first time keep up the good work LS!
Patch 14.15 on Kai'sa
Kraken first 49.67% win rate and 32.53% pick rate.
Seeing the quite underwhelming win rate for this build path, I'm not convinced it's broken.
no wonder this video took a while, it was so good. Thank you for this vid (i was waiting so i could use it on my games keking )
Wow, one of the best videos you ever put out.
oooooo that was a great video! although I don't like you giving our secrets away more widely than they already are hahahah xD also there is counter to this in my opinion. and it's destroying kai'sa early and ending as soon as possible but as far as countering her when she's already hitting her power spikes. yeah no counterplay just the way we like it
Great vid, I think such informative build/champs breakdowns are awesome and you should focus on that.
That Kai'sa animation in beginning 0:07 is so clean. Is there link to it anywhere?

Ever since the Ezreal Kleptomancy/First Strike, Future's Market, fast ramping builds, I always thought that ramping was underrated and that players just needed to test it out on different champions. With the addition of the skillpoint it makes sense that it Kai'Sa would find good use of a similar ramping build. It's honestly probably good on A LOT of ADC's. I imagine Kog'Maw after the buffs could do something similar. Smolder and Senna don't need it because their ramping is to do with their stacks, but it could still work really well on them and/or others.
Basically anyone that can play safe and scale it accelerates theby 5 to 10 minutes
Love these build/champ guides. Good edition, god bless.
Best explanation by far, im excited to int all my d4 games and head right back to emerald
Great video LS! I really love that you practice what you preach. Hopefully this helps evolve pro play.
Thank you for the video, I was a kaisa main and hit 152 lp masters. Now I started playing the game again and am d4. May this guide boost my elo
I'd like more videos like that, very informational
Thank you so much for making this. Concise, demonstrations, this is what educational league content should be.
great video , had to try this build in a game and it went great on mid, thanks, keep it up
Great video LS!
This is why LS is THE GOAT! Its a shame ranked ladder quality is terrible because 99% of players don't care to optimize their champions or refuse to get off of outdated builds like Shiv
Great vid thanks LS
I think you might want to explore ingenious hunter, it allows for faster stacking of tear, ludens stacks, blossom cd.
Finally a league video about a strong champ and build that actually teaches you why and how to play it rather than just a game that some cracked high elo player smurfed in using said build
happy you making this types of videos they are alway great
it would be really nice to see more videos like this one for other champions
I would really like to see more videos like this. Very good video!
I am honestly surprised that LS doesn't deem Ingenious Hunter as a viable pick here.
The faster tear stacking may be negligible, but you'd thing that faster accumulation of Luden stacks/lower cooldown on Cryptbloom heal would be a very good thing for this build
Cryptobloom heal is bad, you get the item for the stats it gives not the passive 😅
A month ago he thought Ingenious was better.
But he said in this video he tested runes and items more. Came to the conclusion that relentless or treasure hunter is just better.
Always loved playing kaisa and this build is making it so much more fun!! Stomping every game 💯
This I always you best content. Keep it up educating the community!!
I was actually waiting for this video. I have been wanting to play this build but couldn’t really find a good reason or build path. Thanks LS
This was great! Time to run her top lane!
I know when originally crafting the build Ingenious was considered for the extra procs on Casters Companion and other items, did you run the stats and find out that its more worthwhile to have the extra gold or MS?
aram players know what is up
I would love to have more videos like this one, it’s a way better visual way, for the more casual person.
Wouldn't ingenious hunter help you stack tear faster, reduce ludens charges CD, and lower cryptbloom CD?
I need more of these videos for my emerald games thank you
To the point about people wanting all 3 upgrades, there was a time where you kind of just settled for 2 instead of 3.
Also Domination/inspiration is a good rune combo as well.
love this type of videos ❤❤
which stat shards would be optimal? is there a threshold with the Ability Haste in slot 1 to hit or is Attack Speed better for last hittin? 2nd adaptive force pretty much. verdict on 3rd? not sure on either, early hp ( keep in mind more base hp means more hp on levelups) or scaling as you want to be online arround 20+ mins anyways?
I’ve always been confused on this but if kaisa has a 130% Ad scaling and 45% Ap scaling on her W, why not just get enough AP to evolve then Go full AD?
What if her build was Liandrys and Void staff then Full AD?
its all about passive
@@dinmea8011 what’s the passive interaction?
@@telepotatoe8508 every 5 stacks deals % max hp (low ad scale)
Thank you for your thoughts LS.
so what about horizon focus? the passive on the item really helps track people when you hit a W and land more without needing vision.
Great video!
3 questions:
1. Sorc boots?
2. Max W or max q in early?
3. flat dmg or atk speed in shard runes?
Either or none.
Max W get it maxed by level 10, but Q to 4 points first.
Atkspeed in shard runes
thanks!@@LSXYZ9
What about -> dorans blade -> cull -> eclipse -> ludens companion -> stormsurge -> voidstaff -> rabadons?
I've got a question regarding her scaling on w.
Does the plasma applying scaling fo her passive overweight the fact that her w scales better with ad?
as in w(130% ad scaling and 45 % ap scaling
and up to 25 % passive ap scaling and % health ap scaling).
If it doesnt overweight, woudln't an item like spear of shojin also be quite good after cryptbloom because of spell cd, ad scaling and percent spell dmg?
I have been sober from league since december, but this might get again into the game
I will go cookies :D
Wouldnt Nashors still be a viable 4th item? Still add AP for what we're looking for and be able to upgrade E for teamfighting?
thank you ls ! much love for this new build! the new ad/hybrid ryze build is really strong atm! thoughts?
Really good commentary and edit, I have one question for everyone, at what level do you guys usually use the Elixir of Skill?
Are there any changes that you would make mid, or other requirements on the team (specific junglers?) that make it viable/unviable?
more of these kinds of vids plz this was very very informative
Is there an argument for ingenious hunter on this build (tear stacking, ludens proc, potential zhonyas, cryptbloom proc (and trinkets))?
