Every decision in Switzerland is taken by Referendum - I.e. Populism - and it’s the most successful country in Europe. No National Debt, fantastic health care, high standard of living, great education system. Clearly Populism = Good, Government thinking they know best = Bad.
Also pays a State pension of £2,148 ,compared to the UK at £884,00.
Switzerland is around the seventh richest Country,compared to the UK being at 5th.
I would imagine the billions of various currencies held without question or scrutiny by Swiss Banks in anonymous accounts may also have something to do with it.

I can't speak for most people, but currently being read by me are books on Abstract Algebra, Galois Theory, and Differential Geometry: stuff way beyond the intellectual capacity of the vast majority of MPs.
