    Here it is, the new project Mini. Found on E-bay but I lost the auction only to later find the higher bidder messed the seller around so it was offered to the next highest bidder...... Me. The Mini is a 1997 Rover Cooper MPI and has been off the road in a garage since 2007! It's what some might call a barn find.
    In this update I respray the inside of the boot

    Think the pump gets the same earth from where the sender does, if that’s the case I’m sure it’s a spade connection that attaches to the rear light cluster. Or there is a earth with an eyelet connection. Can’t remember exactly which one. Boot floor looks mint Keith. Well done with those cans 👍🏻👍🏻

    Hi Keith, boot looks great hey, just as well you didn't go with spraying the entire boot otherwise you really would have been short on paint hey! And sprout drives... Yay! Great stuff 😊

    4X lock & 4X unlock?? Can you explain a bit more about why you do this and is it a common thing with all injection Mini's or just sprout please? Oh and boot looks lovely 👍

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  4 года назад +1

      Yes, the two button remotes are re-initiated by pressing lock / unlock 4 times. You need to do it after disconnecting the battery

      Lock unlock lock unlock until the light goes out works on my 2000 Cooper sport. Let me know if it works for you also.

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  4 года назад +1

      @@kevbarry7453 Yes, it will work like that on all 2 button remotes. If it goes out of sync you can also remove the fob battery, press lock / unlock a few times then refit the battery and do the same

    Good video, just a simple question please does anyone have front mud flaps installed on a classic Mini to protect the rust on the sills?

      They don't really fit, the A panels get in the way

    Nice job on the boot. I recently did mine but I couldn’t find any paint to match. What did you use? Your car looks like the same color as mine.

    Out of interest, What’s wrong with fitting the wrong battery then? I fitted a 075 battery in mine 😅

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  4 года назад +1

      In short..... A battery needs to remain above 12.6 or it starts to sulphate, if you use a car like a mini infrequently it will naturally discharge over time so when you do come to use it you want to get the battery back up fully charged quickly. If you have a 330A normal battery Vs a 540A upgraded battery, the upgraded battery takes for arguments sake 60% longer to fully charge. Also factor in the weak charging system on a mini and all of a sudden it's a big ask of the system to fully charge the battery between uses. Caveat* not so much of a problem if you use the car a lot and do long journeys but in many cases people fit bigger batteries because they have been having problems with the standard sized battery going flat so they fit a much bigger battery which does temporarily fix the issue but over a longer period it will sulphate much faster and subsequently not last as long.

      Classic Mini Workshop hmm interesting, so what you’re saying is make sure you drive it regularly and for a decent journey

      Classic Mini Workshop I only fitted a 075 because that’s what I had when I had a mini for a daily
