I knew Ararat is visible from Armenia but is now part of Turkey, but it hadn't crossed my mind how this must feel to Armenian people to only see their historical mountain from afar. Much love from a Greek who sympathizes

According to the agreement, Mount Ararat and the lands near Erzurum were ceded to Turkey for only 100 years. After this period, Turkey is obligated to return these lands, but it has not done so. This means that legally, Ararat does not belong to Turkey, and Turkey is an occupier.
Moreover, according to the Treaty of Sèvres, which is still valid, Turkey was supposed to transfer most of the Western Armenian lands to Armenia. However, the communists hindered this, essentially resulting in both Turkey and the communists occupying Armenia.
Therefore, in any scenario, Turkey is an occupier and unlawfully holds these lands

@@manuam98 Ararat is the mountain around which Armenian nation was formed back to thousand years. Also it is part of many national poems, poetry, songs and etc. Some find it symbolic that in bible it says that Noah’s arc landed on Araratian mountain(s). The last and the sad part, mountain was always part of Armenian kingdoms and the First Republic, however after Russians takeover of Armenia, they handed the mountain to Turkey. Nowadays the mountain is right on Armenian-Turkish border. The song is about feelings of Armenian, who was born and raised outside of Armenia. Song is conversation with the mountain and tells how he/she understands the importance of the mountain after seeing it the first time and how sad he/she is to leave Armenia again, but promising that one day they will not be separated.

Arto Tunçboyaciyan is a great artist for us too.This song touches my heart so much, i'm Turkish but above else Anatolian, my genetic make up and my culture tells me so, we have common emotions, common traditions, music, what makes you long and cry can make me cry too, i understand how you might be feeling and i cannot stop listening to this song, so beautiful and such a nice emotional interpretation, i wish we were still living together on this land in peace, love from İstanbul.

Overwhelmed by reading comments from folks all over the world experiacing our music, and I got to thinking I have lived in Los Angeles since I was 11, obviously I'm comfortable anywhere in this city, but there are certainly places in LA where I am on high alert as to who is near me. Tried to think of a scenario where anyone would feel that way in Armenia if they were visiting and I couldn't think of anywhere in Armenia where you have to be on high alert. It's you are surrounded with love everywhere. No one visiting Armenia should be concerned about their safety day and night. Especially if you are a foriner, bet you will encounter so many folks not knowing you or anything about you would invite you to their home to break bread with you and raise a glass. That's powerful, really proud to be Armenian and special thanks to Ladaniva for awesome performance.
