These is to me the best piano performance of the 2010's. Like listening to 30 years of popular music in 15min.
Brad is sublime !
Look at the artihalfdome and feel the buzz
I've been searching for this video since around 2012 when they took it off. Thanks for posting.
Makes me cry.
Can someone tell me why I can't stop watching this video
great musician
My goal to play!
I love how he is playing with 4 hands without checking the keys. Awesome artist!
Absolutely insane
To me Brad M. is a jazz virtuoso of modern day the caliber of Mays or Ricciutti ... the richness of harmonics and passages is inspiring ...
Thank you Brad!
Thank you so much for posting, I have been missing this video since it was taken down years ago. For me it's transcendent.
Mehldau is such a baller
Nobody can touch Brad... No one.
Between Brad and the sound of that Steinway I am numb...
while watching one of the other videos from this show i finally figured out that the dead shirt he is wearing is from the summer 1987 tour. brad would have been 17 that year. i like to think that he got that shirt at a show that summer.
Plays the song and the heartbeat within it at the same time. The emotion of the player, the composer and the music itself, simultaneously. Thanks, Brad.
wow!!!
He's truly singing with all Richard Ashcroft's might and Kurt Cobain's
Великолепный. Музыкальная медитация и безумный микс с капелькой teens spirit.
It's fun how he does a duet by himself better than any duet possibly could. Also 5:39 to 5:46 lol
the meaning of be an ARTIST
Brad thank you. Your solo work is encouraging. One day we will be perfect and there will be a "exquisite delight in the abundance of peace". Psalms 37:11,29.
10:12 🤯 , 10:26 😲
Comment fait-il? Incroyable
God damn those Steinways sound ethereal. Touch the emotional soul each and every time.
A tad too much compression for me. But this is great for this song I believe.
QUANDO VIENE DA DENTRO , NON ESISTE BARRIERA ALCUNA !
Hi an alle die wegen Musik da sind
Secondo me il più importante jazzista in circolazione
Concordo totalmente. Poi c'è chi dice che fa elevator music ma li considero degli snob e pure stupidi.
"Bartok and Debussy attempt to decipher semi-modern radio"
Does he missed some tempo in the “Bittersweet symphony”? First couplet, in melody which is for Ashcroft’s singing?
Im sorry but this to me sounds like if they payed me to randomly "jam" on the piano for hours. I dont see any beauty. Or musically special compositions or melodically pleasantr.
It's because of the EXPECTATION you superimpose on what sounds "right" to you that you have that take on it. Then you would also felt the same about Keith Jarrett's Koln concert. These performances express the art of improvisation to the max.
I respect your point of view, me myself enjoys this impro, mehldau is a genius!
it’s ok to ‘not like it’. it’s just something that’s on table, take it or not no judgment. Brad plays what he feels likes. You’re not a customer. He doesn’t need to please everyone. That’s the reason why I respect him so much. No compromise.
It’s extremely basic to cover teen spirit. Kurt had so many amazing pop songs. - it’s like doing Yesterday instead of Julia.
What are your saying exactly? That Brad Mehldau shouldn't have done this?
Xitlalic it’s amazing and all but it couldn’t be anymore obvious. Kurt had tons of incredible songs, that’s part of why he was a genius, but people always play Teen Spirit.
@@XitlalicProductions he’s saying he wishes Brad had picked a better Nirvana song. I feel the samez
