  • After her race at this year's 2024 Tour de Suisse, I asked Matilda Raynolds about the importance of carbs and how things have evolved in the pro cycling culture. Matilda talks about how cycling has evolved, why women are able to ride faster than ever and also gives a shout out to Dr. Stacy Sims and advocates for healthy bodies across all sport types.
Thank you so much Matilda for this well versed interview -- I hope many rirders will take your advice to heart.

This is so true. I use to train on an empty stomach to burn fat.....dumb. My first long ride doing 80 grams of carbs an hour was so eye opening. As was said I finished as strong as I started. Now even on relaxed casual rides I always have carbs on hand. Energy bars are good but I love maple syrup in 5oz refillable soft squeeze flasks. It's very economical when you buy maple syrup in 1 litre bottles.
