This works SO well - love this sound, hoping your next album has some sad / slower tunes too ("Footprints" is still one of my favourite songs but it doesn't feel like a full song, would love it if you guys explored that kind of mellow, sombre sound again).

This is the best track so far with Matt, I'm excited for the album and to watch your sound grow together. Like with the Jonny albums they got better and refined their sound each time. I have the feeling this could be a classic album and one that really pushes the band to the next level.

Have been following yall a long time and i gotta say even though I'm more of a fan of JC's stuffs, y'all have been killing it. And this song might be one of my favourites. The last few songs didn't have the RCD/Slaves r&b tone to it and now it's back!
It could be just the electronic drum breaks but this absolutely feels like it could have come directly from Beautiful Death or Through Art(...), which I love. That's not to diss on the other singles either because I adore Cutting It Close.

Although, am I the only one missing the vibes of the "To Better Days" album? This new direction feels a lot more pop-like than previously. By no means is the music terrible, I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I just find myself wishing for just one song that gave me the same chills as the entirety of To Better Days did.
I love this song too and I see what you mean, I think lots of the songs from to better days had a very ambient feel that I would love to see again in this new album
What bothers me is that it seems that everything seems to be about girls or love. His old lyrics seem to have a new direction unusual in the scene. Gone are the days. Maybe he is better now and relationships are the only thing that bothers him anymore.
Bert McCracken once said something similar. Fans were pissed his lyrics changed and he said something like: but I’m happy now

The combo of To Better Days leading into Prayers makes it my favorite intro to any album ever, very hard to top that. Talk to a Friend was also excellent and I really resonated with vibe of To Better Days as a whole more than some of these current singles but Waiting on You from the current EP is such a banger it gives me a lot of hope for the future of Rain City Drive.
