Playable Naga has been in Bakugan Battle Brawlers Wii this entire time?! (plus other unused Bakugan)

- This was all done on the Toys R Us version of the game, and in the Dolphin emulator.
I'm sure every young Bakugan fan who had gotten their hands on the Bakugan Battle Brawlers game has heard the rumor that there was a secret unlockable Naga that you could get under specific circumstances.
While that may not necessarily be true, there is an unused (and awfully unfinished) version of Naga that you can use by doing some save-editing.
Using this same method, you can also find an unused Aquos and Darkus Warius (which are fully finished), and a Ventus Terrorclaw (which unfortunately uses the same model and texture as the Aquos Terrorclaw).
Bakugan Battle Brawlers Wii has been a game that I've enjoyed since childhood, even now I come back to it once a year for a playthrough. But recently I've decided to use Hex-editing for the first time to try and map out the game's save file, finding out what certain values are in charge of.
If you also fell for the Naga rumor back in the day, you might be able to imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon the right value that adds Naga to your collected Bakugan! I was so shocked that I jumped out of my seat!
Curious, I did some research to see if anyone else knew about this. Aside from some trivia in a wiki article, there seems to be no-one that has documented Naga or these other unused Bakugan, not even a screenshot.
So, I've decided to make a short (crappy) video that showcases all of these unused Bakugan in their full glory. Also Bronze Warius, since he is normally unobtainable in this version of the game.

Hal G with Naga would’ve been an awesome concept almost as a final final boss or something like that.
An idea could be that Naga is base 600g and is attribute-less so he gets his g-power boosts from the highlighted one on the gate card
Or a secret boss.

So sad that winning battles with Naga crashes the game 😮💨. But regardless, him actually being (somewhat) playable is super exciting!

Makes me wonder if the game was incomplete. I would've thinked maybe Naga would've been a huge second main antagonist for Leonidas.
To help share some details on this: Naga was supposed to be in the game as the final boss. In fact, Ultimate Dragonoid and Alpha Hydranoid were supposed to be usable too, as shown by the models of the DSI Game Bakugan: Battle Trainer. Naga was the only one who was partially added, but the idea was scrapped for Leonidas and Vladitor before Naga reached completion. Drago and Hydranoid's final evolutions would instead be ported to the Battle Trainer game, and Textures heavily downgraded so the game could run them.

I did the math and based on Naga's stats at 00:38 you can upgrade him to a full 5 stats if you ignore the G Power upgrades, not like you'll need those since he has a base 450 (He's stronger than even Omega Leonidas and Battle Ax Vladitor) and is also a Haos Bakugan meaning he gets the best Special Shot in the game.
Based on that he was probably either a part of a scrapped story section due to not enough time during development or a special reward for 100% the game or something.
Sorry... But Naga's stats in this video were all made by me.
To put it simply, every Bakugan in the save file has a string of values that contain their stats, attribute, and what I like to call their "identifier". This "identifier" is what calls the Bakugan's name, image, and their ball form and monster form models (which can be dependent on their attribute).
By editing the identifier of the Bakugan I had in my deck, I stumbled my way onto Naga's identifier. From there, I manually added him to my inventory by copying another Bakugan's string of values.
I made him Haos since it fit his color scheme (and sense "Attribute-less" doesn't exist in the game) , his base G-Power 450 (the same as the evolved guardians), and gave the rest of his stats a base state resembling the evolved guardian Bakugan's.
I have no idea what his real base stats look like, as they never show up in the save-file. I'm sure it exists somewhere in the rest of the game's code, but that's beyond me.

I’m mad cause the haos and darkus warius was finished in good detail bc and not released but the pyrus one unlockable through code is very choppy
I really hoped that the game had more bakugans and more cool stuff like Naga

Honestly, if it hasnt been done yet, it'd be nice for someone to edit Naga's code so they can be fully functional. ✨
If they wanted to go the extra mile they could also port the Defenders of the core bakugan

Wait, isn't that just Naga from the intro but using dragonoids ball form and idle animation in battle?
It's definitely using Drago's ball model and intro animation (which is looped throughout the battle) as placeholders. The model is probably the same from the intro too.
My guess is that they were thinking about adding Naga into the game in some capacity (opponent/unlockable), but it never went further from what you see here.
It's really a collection of placeholders, but it's still interesting.
@@Deathstar21991 I don't understand how games work but I have a general understanding of models, animations, ports. BAKUGAN is a pretty popular franchise with its battle brawler gaming community still alive til this day, what I don't see is modding in those game. Is there like a wall that's preventing moding I don't know about? Or people not engaged in modding the game significantly to make large changes
@@axelthehunter8831 Just thinking about it, I think the biggest wall to modding these games is that they never got PC versions. I don’t think any games that have been released on consoles have any mods, unless they specifically support them. Even though these games can now be emulated on PC, I believe the fact that these are still console games makes it more difficult.
I’m not sure if this is the only limitation, but another possibility is that, yeah, people probably aren’t invested enough to go make mods for the game. I think most current Bakugan fans enjoy collecting, rather than digging through these old games’ files.
This is just speculation, I don’t know anything about modding. But yeah, it’d be awesome to see a mod or two for this game.
Does the concsels version of the games have different bakugan?
How do you have working motion controls for this game? My cursor only goes up and down…

No, these are the only unused Bakugan that exist in the game. It is likely that they did plan on adding the others, though.
It looks awesome. Will you make a cheat code to unlock these Bakugan without save editing?
I have no idea how that works, lol. But I have created an google sheet that’ll help you through it, along with a video tutorial.

Sorry, as of now I don’t think there is any way to add new Bakugan or mod the game.
I found some unused announcer voice clips in the game that mention each character turn,
there's one at the very bottom of that section where she says “Hal-G's Turn”.
I suspect that Hal-G was a boss with Naga as his Bakugan early in development, but got cut out due to time constraints.
(The clip is named VO_NA_CPU36.brstm in the Wii ver, if you want to check for yourself)
Wow, sounds awesome! Unfortunately, I don’t know how to go digging for the files myself. I only achieved this by editing certain values in a hex-editor.
