What if Rue won the Hunger Games?
This video needs a remake/update (to include the details/info from "The Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes")! Also, what's with the patched blurring?
The first 9 hunger games were not a spectacle. Even the capital wasn’t interested. The whole point of the 10th game was to get people interested in watching.
The dean secretly wanted it to end, but it was Snow who continued it. It was also Snow’s father who started it. So poetic.
One thing: Cinna was not Peeta's stylist. Portia and their team was his stylist team. Cinna, Octavia, Flavius, and Venia were Katniss'.
I think he hasn’t read the books, only watched the movies
@@sethriley9465he name is cinematica so why would he read
I assure you, there is more than "One thing"
they killed Hamich's family and his fiancé too after he won
Yep. He used the force field to win the Games and the Capital killed his family and his fiance for it.
I don't know how they miss this one, especially since the next line is about how cruel the Capital was.
What why did they do that 😅
Just watched recently, this series is wild and heart breaking.
So sad
2 things missed!
1. Who actually started the hunger games (Casca Highbottom + Crassus Snow drunk one night “joking” about it, and Snow turning it in w/o telling Highbottom- for their final project at the academy with Volumna Gail - and her actually using it to bring the hunger games to life)
2. That Snow ordered Haymitch’s family to be killed as a punishment for his deflection tactic with the force field when he won his games.
Katniss’ dad also died in the same mining accident as gale’s dad
Imagine if Snow did not have to be so petty and put Katniss back in the arena. The rebellion could have been slowly contained. His seemingly revenge to Katniss’ actions bit him back and sent him to his demise.
Catnis reminded him of his dead lover that he killed or tried to kill
Lucy gray 👀
Two things are missing.
1. the 25th Hunger games: the districts voted by themselves who should be sent to the arena
2. Beetee’s hunger games: He won by electrocuting 6 Tributes at once. (His hunger games are supposed to happen around the 23-42 ones)
only two?
39th hunger games
Would like to mention the first hunger games were not as elaborate, it was genuinely just throwing kids into an old stadium and watching them kill each other. No extra stuff is added like in later Games.
One thing you missed and hasn't been mentioned in the comments...
Along with sacrificing ppl with the bombing at the Capitol, Coin decided not to stop the hunger games from happening.
I think she was gonna stop them, but wanted to make them one more time, using the children of the Capitol (and make sure Snow’s granddaughter was a tribute) to give them a taste of their own medicine
@@screech9416which still wouldn't fix anything, it would still be revenge against innocent individuals, privileged, but still innocent
Can't wait for the Hunger Games prequel, I started reading the books just recently and finding myself wanting so much more content!
I watched it yesterday and have 3 chapters of the book left to read
Without spoiling I will say that the movie changed quite a bit of things from the book
I love this franchise so much and I just wanna say that this should be the blueprint on how you make a powerful female lead. Katniss went through so much hardship before she became the powerful and strong woman that she is. I love the character and I love Jennifer Lawrence (she was my celebrity crush when I was in highschool).
You didnt mention how the hunger games were created by Casca Highbottom and Crassus Snow and were brought to life by Volumnia Gaul
Casca Highbottom didn’t like the games. He made it up with Crassus Snow when they were drunk and Crassus Snow took it upon himself to say he came up with it when he presented to Dr. Gull. It was Highbottom’s idea but it was all a joke not to be taken seriously or used against the districts at all as punishment and power. Highbottom always drank morphling to drown out the games and his hatred for it and was good at fooling the people around him that he enjoyed and liked the games but he did this so he wouldn’t be seen as defiant when it came to the games…
Johanna won 3 years before the 74th hunger games lol. She won the 71st Games.
Mags was top tier! So brave and brilliant! ❤
I wouldn’t say top tier…
The Greeks mentioned a timeline called anacyclosis. We call it the 4th turning. How history rhymes in cycles that continue. Showing us mans fallen state and unwillingness or inability to learn from history.
I was so suprised, hearing you voice here, greeting from long time fan of the Amagi!
Id love to see a book about hamich's game
Thank you for the explanation 🥰
To think they basically took 1774 kids to kill for the crime of treason, and rebellion, before the 75th games where the games originally end
Wouldn't there be 1800? Because the 50th had double the amount of contestants
years 1-49 and 51-73 had 23 non victors per game = 1656 total
Year 50 (2nd quell/ haymitch's year) had 47 non victors = 1703
Year 74 (katniss and peeta's 1st game) had 22 non victors = 1725
And I'm not adding in the 75th games since they aren't really kids since they are former victors and the games were interrupted anyways, but if you want to add in a few more here you could obviously.
So if my math is right 1725 kids + fallen victors in the last games. Still a lot of people
thanks for resume this story, saved me a lot of my free time
I needed this
Haymich, “the sole surviving victor in District 12.” I believe he was the only ever victor from District 12 until Katniss and Peeta.
No, Lucy Gray Baird - The female tribute from District 12 for the tenth Hunger Games. Was the victor that time, thought she was lost through time; some thought she has die in the forest once she return from the games others though she had runaway since she wasn’t considered a member of district 12 due to she been a member of group of outcasts but she was chosen as a district 12 tribute and send to the games. So there was Lucy Grey then Haymich then Katniss and Peta.
@@Dian66 Got it. At the time I wrote that, I was unaware of the Lucy Gray story.
The new book provided more context for the early days and games so it would be cool to see how this changed the video if you guys decide to remake it someday. Great recap!
so excited for songbirds and snakes
I have to say this was one of the best series of movies I've seen!! One of my favorite movies of my life time. The author has an adventurous, unique, authentic, bold, innovative imaginations I've ever witnessed.
Indeed
I love all the hunger games movies and books,I am almost done with The Hunger Games:The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes.
Who else loves Hunger Games?
Me
Over here
Me
in the eyes of a capitol citizen the 75th hunger games must have been hype af
it wasn't, none of them wanted it
At first yea but in both books and movies, once they realised that basicly the biggest celebrities of Panem were avout to be murdered many of them rebeled. Like in real world this would be like if the top 24 actors/musicians/models... were chosen to kill eachother
Thank you for this
When will they make a book and movie about haymitch life plus win im the games . 48 other kids fighting to death is mad wild
Yeah that would be awesome and you know how good that movie would do
@@willholland1778they made a short film about it and it’s pretty good you should check it out. All you have to do is look up “The 50th hunger games 2nd quarter quell” and it should show up
A lot missing in this
Every time watch a video there's a new host. When a channel is run by a brand, not people.
Wonderful video
I enjoyed the premise of the video, but whoever wrote the script needed to work on it a bit more. Incredibly repetitive in the phrases, analogies, and talking points. Put more time into it and condense all the fluff that made the video longer than it needed to be
The mining accident was actually 5 years before the 74th hunger games
Thank you broo...
This video could have been 15 minutes long if you didn’t repeat your self about 50 times every sentence
Snow let Katniss get away from a lot tbh. Past winners have done less and got their family killed immediately. Snow opted for a 2nd hunger instead of killing her family first.
He knows that would've aggravated the rebellion even more
Snow had to play his cards very carefully he knew he wasn’t gonna win. That’s why he went crazy… Usually when a person is very close to losing they do everything in their power to go down fighting and doing ruthless things because they know once it’s over it’s over for them too they know they can’t control their outcome anymore.
I watching this after watching SongBirds and snakes. This video was posted 5 months before it released. How did you get that footage???
Trailer maybe idk if it was out at the time
So does “Ballad” contradict the original trilogy regarding the arena? You’re saying that the original arena in the first Hunger Games was complex, but we see in the prequel that it’s just a basic arena and becomes complex as a way to draw more viewership 🤔
You forgot to mention that Charlie carried this series hard.
So in terms of the movies the story has be told backwards from end to Beginning with the most recent hunger games being the story explaining the beginning of the hungry games being shown in the catniss movies ?
Johanna won the 71st hunger games so idk how that’s 7 years before the 74th
What about gloss and cashmere games
Is it just me or does it feel like this video was written, voiced, and edited by a bot? Like what's going on with the weird pronunciations at 14:55 and 15:05. Why does it seem like certain phrases and points are getting repeated over and over again. There's just something uncanny about the whole thing.
I started to think it was strange how sentences were ended with the last word drawn out oddly.
Katniss also lost her dad in the mining accident
Mining accident.
@@Auburn36801returns thats what i meant sorry - didn’t even notice that lmao
THE HUNGER GAMES PREQUEL IS COMING!
Just wondering, are you from Canada? I noticed the way you pronounce words with the "ou" sound. It sounds more like a long O sound (like in the word "boat"), particularly the way you said "outsmart".
THEY HAD A KID!? AWWW
I’m still upset that Cina died 😢
Beautiful done
I am waching this the day after i saw the new one last night
I want more 😢
correction: snow murdered johanna's family because she refused to become a prostitute.
May Gof bless you Amen😊
Joanna won the 71st games not 7 years before the 74th
and now panam is that thick mami in cyberpunk
Why are the screens and holograms blurred out?
Remember, he's talking about the future. Snow hasn't been elected president yet.
The name of this dystopian place is Pan Am?
Panem, with an e. From the Latin phrase, panem et circenses (“bread and circuses”). A throwback to the gladiators in the Roman arena. Supposedly, the capital provides the districts’ needs and the districts provide the entertainment of the hunger games.
Can someone explain what happed between snow and Lucy in the ending of songbirds and snow ?
It’s left to our imagination to figure out what happened to lucy
so there can be no more hunger games???
District 13 💪🏼
This video was a mess😭 so much stuff missing
What do you mean "so far"?
There’s a new movie comeing out
Yeah why.. do people put their channel name in the title? I know it's you. It's in the channel name.
So when people search the channel name this video pops up
@@disneyvision19 because peoples attention spans are lower now, no longer have a few more split seconds to type anymore.
It makes it show up easier in search results.
Helps wade through the algorithm. Makes it easier to find.
something I still wonder if there are other nations
If America turned into Panem, then I wonder what Mexico and Canada look like?
They were destroyed by natural disasters. Panem is all that’s left of North America
That's a good question. 🤔
It’s said on the books I think that the rest of the world was destroyed in wars and climate catastrophes, smth like that. The only ppl that remains are in Panem
@@viniciuslima185knowing the resilience of humanity that doesn’t sound very realistic but makes sense as it would cause story issues for the author
in most post-apocalyptic fiction stories the rest of the world's state is usually unknown, which 1) resolves the issues with storytelling and simplifying the worldbuilding and 2) would be actually not that unrealistic, especially since in most stories the world is in shambles and don't have internet/phones/other ways of connecting with other continents or far off places so someone from North America wouldn't know what's happening in Europe for example and that would be completely plausable
This is a for shadow of what's to come, already they starting with smart cities
So how long did the hunger games go on. Curious because I thought the Hunger games went on for hundreds of years. But this makes me think it only lasted a few decades ?
75 years
@@alycran oh that’s not that long at all.
CAN'T WAIT FOR OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES!
I don’t understand how you make this video and you are completely oblivious to the events in “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.” So many of the things about the really hunger games are described, and you are way off dude
someone got me to try reading the hunger games (which I considered a twilight knock off for a long time). honestly a bit better than i thought it would be, kind of makes me laugh how the capital is literally just Hollywood and LA forcing everyone to live miserable lives to fund their decadent and pointless life styles
It’s completely different to twilight what similarities did you think they have before reading the book?
@@_mark_3814 boring three-way love triangle shlick between a "just your average girl with low self esteem that can do literally anything flawlessly" and "two boys both really hot and sexily malnourished from completely opposite worlds they also both hate each other do to some random rivalry which comes to ahead by fighting each other to the death for the perfect/average girl"
That was the whole point. The book literally takes a shot at the entertainment industry and reality TV. Suzanne used to work in tv
@@labelladonna9122 yeah, i pretty much get that, these were my thoughts on it when reading surface level ads and fan views on it. if they lead that the story is a mockery of hollywood and a spiteful angry rant towards their over indulgence I probably would have picked it up sooner but no one tried to sell it to me like that before
That's only the tip of the iceberg. There is so much deeper political meaning about facism, oppression, and war. The commentary on Hollywood is more about how it plays a role in propaganda and the war machine.
I wish I was in hunger games
:(
I didn’t know people actually like these movies
Man I felt the same way when the movies first came out, but then I read the books in prison and then I instantly loved the series
