Ironically, Kate's brother seems to have a personality like Jon (Not a bad thing, just caring, sensitive type), so, with that dynamic, I guarantee, Kate's parents displayed the same dynamic to them. Kate has deeper issues that cause her to be cold and emotionally unavailable but she is definitely abusive in nature (My opinion). I would guess her Mother was the same as her or worse.

I was emotionally abused as a kid and I would never want that for my kids. I grew up in a household where after my dads death all my mom would do is yell.

I have a child that is grown that is ADHD and also has a Thought processing deficit. Yes it was hard but you adapt and you get into a mode of learning all that you can do to help your child. He graduated from High School, keeps a job and has a family of his own, just doing Great. I am so proud of him. So sending a child away I cannot imagine, I didn’t have that many children, only 3, but I understand she had Nannies so I just don’t understand why. Just my opinion I believe she is cruel.
Her kids will end up being like her too. Collin would be better off with a family member taking care of him instead of an institution. Learn to work with a disabled kid. It teaches patience, understanding, compassion, inclusiveness, as well as encouraging independence for the child with the disability.

I wonder what Kevin and Jodie would say now...8 years later....with all that is being revealed about their nephew, Collin, and the abuse he endured in his mother's home and in the mental institution that Kate put him in....this facility that took this 12 year old child WITHOUT a proper diagnosis and without telling his father where the child was for 3 years....and they subjected this 12 year old to MORE physical, mental and psychological abuse and kept him drugged and sedated and isolated. And he was apparently 75lbs overweight when Jon rescued him. Thank GOD his roommate was able to smuggle Collin's letter (which was a heart-wrenching plea for his father to rescue him) to Jon and Jon was able to rescue his son from this place and from what I read, he seems to be happy and thriving at his father's home. He's making straight A's in school, he's bonding with his father again, he's in therapy and healing from all the abuse and he's hoping to create a better future for himself AWAY from his mother's abusive home.
TLC definitely ruined the family! I hate how they even film the kids crying!!! Jon even hated this and other stuff producers forced onto the kids when he confirmed it on his Dr. Oz interview.
I never understood that. Why did they need to film them pooping, undressing, bathing, napping, turning off the light& closing the door in their bedroom while a cameraman is still there while they take a nap, having a single person filming a kid alone in their bedroom??? It's gross that Kate allowed TLC to film them like that. They had no privacy!
So many people did not believe them when this first aired, but I always did. I thought they did this because they really cared about their nieces & nephews and were just trying to protect them. Now after hearing Jon’s recent interviews, it is proof that they were telling the truth. I think Jodi & Kevin were maybe trying to speak for Jon back then since Jon had been ordered not to tell anybody through the gag order. Maybe they felt this was the only way they could get through to everybody about what was really going on. I wonder if Jon ever reunited with them afterwards, they seem like they were more on his side about things.

What happened is the production company suggested they become regular additions to the show and would get paid because of it. It was the production company's idea. When Kate heard she'd have to share the spotlight, she put an end to it. They appeared on the show less.

Kate, earlier year, 2018, that SHE IS BROKE to the point that she had no way to pay the very large balloon payment due this year. They live on a 26 acre estate in a 6200 square foot home. Kate has had MULTIPLE NANNIES, She wears designer clothing and shoes. She has her children in private schools and she, of course sent Colin to a Boarding School for "life skills" issues. She NEVER ONCE brought him home for a visit that was around three years ago. She claimed that the School DID NOT ALLOW COLLIN TO VISIT HOME, EVER! Jon had to go to Court to learn where his own son was because KATE WOULD NOT TELL HIM WHERE COLLIN WAS. JON now visits Collin and has started bringing him home for WEEKENDS AND COLLIN SPENT THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY with HANNAH AND JON. So, once again KATE LIED. SHE DID PUT THAT CHILD IN A 24 HOUR 365 DAYS PER YEAR OVER NIGHT BOARDING SCHOOL B.C. AND JUST LEFT HIM. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT SHE HAS BEEN VISITING HIM IN HIS SCHOOL...EVER. COLLIN WAS NEVER OUT OF THE BOARDING SCHOOL MOST LIKELY WHEN MOST, IF NOT ALL THE OTHERS, WERE GONE, COLLIN WAS LEFT...NOT INVITED HOME. HE HAS MISSED TWO BIRTHDAYS WITH THE REST OF HIS SIBLINGS, AND EVERY SINGLE HOLLIDAY IN OVER TWO AND A HALF YEARS! COLLIN'S WEEKEND VISIT TO HIS DAD'S, WAS THE FIRST TIME HE HAD BEEN IN JON'S HOME IN THREE YEARS. Collin, Hannah and Jon spent their birthday together at their school. Jon already has Permanent Custody of Hannah and has now applied for permanent Custody of Collin. I hope he is successful because he really wants to live with Jon. Even before the gag order I remember Jon wanting the children to stop being exploited also, obviously no judge Kate and Jon went before was a good judge of character. C Swank, I did hear a rumor that TLC offered to pay Jodi and Kevin since they seemed to be a big part of the children's lives. Kate said no. She was not going to let anyone else profit from her and her children. I saw no reason why they shouldn't pay them. They helped out so much with children. Kate treated Jon like he was a dog. I couldn't figure out how he hung in there so long. When she was going on "Dancing with the Stars", her partner Tony did not think much of her. I felt sorry for him because I think he was the most patient of any of the pro dancers and she tried to boss him around, telling him how to show her how to dance.

I am 63 and I still have sad thoughts about that and more than a little anger towards my aunt. Poor Collin suffered horrible emotional abuse from his mother. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if one of those children gets some kind of revenge on Kate when they get older. Watch for it to happen.

She brought out a garbage bag and started throwing them all in there. I started cleaning up and got them all back but I was crying and begging my mum not to. I still remember that day clear as ever, while my mum has no recollection saying she would never do anything like that. This is what Kate wanted. After about the 3rd season John was done. He asked for it to be over but if he wanted to keep his family together. He had to continue the show because the bully Kate said it was the show or he could leave.

That bitch of a "mother" put Collin in an institution and left him there to lay in a drug induced fog. Would not tell Jon where he was. Poor kid smuggled a letter written in crayon to his dad. When he read that on the Dr. Oz show it made me cry. He is a changed kid now. If you haven't watch that interview you should. He had a Ten year gag order on him. Now he gets to tell his side. People say Jodi and Kevin were jealous but they were right all along. Look what happened to the Gosselins'. Divided. And the children are caught in the middle. 2:26 I wouldn't be surprised to Kate said this.I believe Jon began understanding this leading to the divorce between Jon and Kate. Jon did push camera crew out of the house in some points. Kate was scared Jon will get them fired. At the end Jon quit, Kate got fired a whole entire decade later and the kids are caught in the middle.
i don't think that the show was a form of entertainment for me, it helped me to understand how hard it is for parents to raise so many children on their own. It's like the discovery channel, helped me understand something that will soon be in history books. i luved their show and still do, i just hope, like the aunt and uncle that the children are safe and happy! :)
I m from Greece and it will never be allowed for children to be on reslity. Laws here dont ever allow minors to be on a simple interview. What s wrong with your laws America?
Litsa Koutoula it’s not America....child labor laws differ from state to state. States like California have more strict rules bc there are a lot of children actors but in Pennsylvania...it is up to the parent in some situations.

The Show offered to pay her brother and sister in law. When Kate found out she was LIVID! She told the show that NO ONE would be paid except her. Period. So brother and sister in law were cut out of her life. She then went on a campaign to smear them because they spoke out about the kids being on the show stating the kids having told her that they didn't like the the cameras there ALL THE TIME. Kate filed suit, as she did if anyone told the TRUTH about the show and its negative effects on the children. Again, she dropped the suit because she COULD NOT WIN BECAUSE THEY WERE TELLING THE TRUTH. SHE certainly could not prove otherwise.

@@oneinvisibledoctor About a year and a half ago, I had learned about Collin. I have just read a lot and learned from many sources, books, newspapers, internet, interviews, etc., about Jon's issues in not getting to see his kids as Court ordered. Kate refused first, to tell him Collin was gone. He learned from the kids. Then she refused to tell him where he was. We have a close family friend who has been going through a similar situation and I know how devastating it has been for the dad. It doesn't take a lot to look up what is current. You can look up Jon's Twitter and hear from him where they are now. I am frankly, just happy to see him with two of his children with the lady he loves and her kids. I'm the grandmother to 9...ages 11 to 22. So no, I'm not nuts. I just have been rooting for him, Hannah and Collin. There are a few of us who post quite a bit. I appreciate when they add to the narrative. But I see Jon's family situation as being resolved for the these two children. Unless one of the other kids decides that they want to live with their Dad, and I haven't seen anything that would suggest that, this chapter seems to be closed.
Thank god those kids are all adults now. I know she damaged Collin but it will be difficult to see if the others have problems as well. That being said, Collin did his first interview as an adult and he was extremely well-spoken and level headed.
Relatives & friends just coming over for a "visit" not being filmed & that that can't happen is not normal! I agree with Jodi & Kevin that Kate is the one enjoying the fame, money & notoriety! These kids at some point are going to want their lives back!!! Sure the money is providing a lot for this large family but it's a bigger price tag than anyone realizes!
@@MusicSeason22 But there is a limit. Too much camera time would lead to rebellion because there will be times when the kids don't want the cameras and just want to be left alone.
What's sad the kids have told their aunt and uncle that they dont like the cameras, and in interviews with the kids, when they're asked if they like being in tv the kids look at their mom then smile and says they love it.
@LightlyLexi You are right about one thing - the kids don't mind anymore but it's because something Jodi said finally got through Kate's head. Kate allowed camera's to go into the kids bedrooms which meant they didn't have a private place in their home they could escape too, Near the end Kate finally said No Camera's in the bedrooms. Which is what Jodi said was all they were concerned about - the kids having a place to go when they didn't want the camera in their face.
Every time Kevin starts talking, the interviewer interrupts him and asks Jodi another question. That's so weird! Anyway.... I do agree that it's not a great environment for the kids. Each of those cameras comes with a camera MAN (or woman) who is just always there watching them every day. That's.... weird.
Because the interviewer asked the question (tlc) and she doesn’t know how to put the answer in the response. Because the interviewers are not supposed to be heard.

They both tried to help those kids. It’s really sad that it turned out this way. Jodi and Kate’s brother completely had the children’s best interest at heart ❤ It breaks my heart, that they saw this coming 💯% Hello and then Dance Moms comes along. We do need to protect these children! They are too young to go against their parents and the parents think this is what’s best for them because of the opportunity. Kids need to be kids and be allowed to mess up and grow up without everyone judging and criticizing.
Now rewatching the series, omg it did get so awkward in season 4. Kate always ragged on him but you see it go from playful nagging with her tapping his thigh and leaning into him to both of them crossed arms, giving each other dirty looks. I always liked Kevin and Jodi. Glad they spoke out.

With Kate in particular, I absolutely agree. Jon on the other agreed with documentary and reality TV at first. It was a test really to see if it might help pay the bills. Then by season 3 especially, he had absolutely enough, and in 2008 when people were filming, he got to points where he pushed camera crew out of the house. Kate was furious and petrified because she didn't want to get fried, and Jon didn't care if it lead to them being fired because he rather work for IT than him and family being exploited. It was very clear that it wasn't his job.
Now we know it’s all been Kate and Jon was basically just a slave who did what he was told. It’s sad this happened to Jon and the kids, Kate is a monster of a person. She only cares about herself and I’m glad TLC finally severed ties with her.
No one on here knows what goes on behind the cameras. Every person that has commented on here thinks that they know exactly what has happened. I feel like even though all of us have heard many sides of this story, we shouldn't be commenting negative things simply because we have no idea what goes on behind the scenes.
this didnt have to be told..viewers already knew she was a controling witch..the way she treated her husband and her children particularly colin..was awful..she was more like a drill sargent than a loving wife and mother..they way she labeled her innocent child a trouble maker was shocking
I agree. They even went as far as to pay all her legal fees so she could retain custody of the kids and let them keep filming despite Jon's objections.
At the start of all of this people where interested in a dad mom with 8 kids than they went on to making the show jon and kate needed the money as the kids got older they needed more but actually we all have to realize kate changed. Because she was the one with 8 kids in a small hose for 24/7 she got stressed!! And TLC should think on the kids there is times when they shouldt be filming some moments like kids crying, or alone time with the family is fine 1 day or 2 but not the whole time. later kate did get a little worse with the cameras but it can happen to everyone. And if she wants to get back on TV its to pay a million dollar house that they need, food for 9, school, security, taxes, collage, family time, and even more think about this instead of just saying stuff that you are not even sure of.
I remember the episode where aunt Jodi gave the kids chewing gum... and Kate freaked!! Calling Jodi and bitching her out! Well it did get on everything. 😂 Turns out Kate was a control freak the entire time tho! Now the plastic surgery on her eyes matches her personality! She looks like an angry evil cat! It heartbreaking to think of what she did to Collin!! I’m happy to hear he’s with his father & sister now. This entire story is heartbreaking!!

That's the one thing about reality shows they are far from real most are scripted for more drama and Jodi doesn't really look like she could be that dense as to give a three year old gum! @ClaireMusicLove You aren't hearing her. She is saying it started off innocently, only being filmed a few hours a week and only certain moments which was okay. She drew the line when cameras were put in their bedrooms - their only private place in their home taken from them, and when they started being filmed more an more. Also if you watch older episodes they only allowed the film crew in their house for a few hours not the kids whole stay at their house.
From the time the show started, at least by the time they were half way through season 1, it was so rare to see Mady and Cara smile. I eventually stopped watching it because Mady and Cara looked so unhappy, even angry sometimes. I think the little kids loved it because of all the extra attention and it's all they knew from the time they were infants but it's hard enough to live with 3 brothers and 3 sisters and be a twin. How is it a good idea to have cameras in your house all the time, to have cameras in your face when you go out in public, to be known as a "Gosselin", to not be an individual? It's not healthy! There should be laws to protect children in reality tv shows. When a child under 18 works on a television series, they are not allowed to film more than 4 hours a day! It's the law. A child under 4 is not allowed to work more than 2 hours. But these kids lives were filmed, their parent's divorce was filmed and they'll never get away from it!

It's fair to say he's spent more than half his young life in front of the cameras. I'm betting a large part of his personality is what we see on camera. You really think he turns into this beastly, unmanageable Dr. Hyde as soon as the cameras go off? A child, who as Kate puts it, was "affecting the entire family" so much that he had to be raised in a group home by mental professionals? She's said how much of a relief it is. How does she even sleep at night? Lastly, you may have heard of a couple of shows where he joined his family.. (at least one of them was before he left) He still isn't there near enough. Kate appears to have effectively isolated her kids from all extended family.. His immediate family seems to be all he has. He's a SEXTUPLET; been with his fellow sixes from the womb. How will this arrangement affect his relationship with them? To feel estranged from his family and their activities? Is that better for his "behavioral problems"? Could he have gone to outpatient therapy and a special school where he comes home at the end of the day? Millions of kids do. Again, is he really a threat to himself and his household? These are the questions many viewers are asking. Doesn't come from news stories, cuz those stories aren't out there. (Sorry abt the length)

I have a child that is grown that is ADHD and also has a Thought processing deficit. Yes it was hard but you adapt and you get into a mode of learning all that you can do to help your child. He graduated from High School, keeps a job and has a family of his own, just doing Great. I am so proud of him. So sending a child away I cannot imagine, I didn’t have that many children, only 3, but I understand she had Nannies so I just don’t understand why. Just my opinion I believe she is cruel.
Although, Jon recently disclosed that he doesn’t have special needs + now has full custody of Collin. Thank god for Collin.
Collin was there 3 years before being rescued by his Father.
Her kids will end up being like her too. Collin would be better off with a family member taking care of him instead of an institution. Learn to work with a disabled kid. It teaches patience, understanding, compassion, inclusiveness, as well as encouraging independence for the child with the disability.

I wonder what Kevin and Jodie would say now...8 years later....with all that is being revealed about their nephew, Collin, and the abuse he endured in his mother's home and in the mental institution that Kate put him in....this facility that took this 12 year old child WITHOUT a proper diagnosis and without telling his father where the child was for 3 years....and they subjected this 12 year old to MORE physical, mental and psychological abuse and kept him drugged and sedated and isolated. And he was apparently 75lbs overweight when Jon rescued him. Thank GOD his roommate was able to smuggle Collin's letter (which was a heart-wrenching plea for his father to rescue him) to Jon and Jon was able to rescue his son from this place and from what I read, he seems to be happy and thriving at his father's home. He's making straight A's in school, he's bonding with his father again, he's in therapy and healing from all the abuse and he's hoping to create a better future for himself AWAY from his mother's abusive home.
This the reason Kate cut her brother and his wife out of her life and the rest of her sibings and their parents.

So many people did not believe them when this first aired, but I always did. I thought they did this because they really cared about their nieces & nephews and were just trying to protect them. Now after hearing Jon’s recent interviews, it is proof that they were telling the truth.

Kate, earlier year, 2018, that SHE IS BROKE to the point that she had no way to pay the very large balloon payment due this year. They live on a 26 acre estate in a 6200 square foot home. Kate has had MULTIPLE NANNIES, She wears designer clothing and shoes. She has her children in private schools and she, of course sent Colin to a Boarding School for "life skills" issues. She NEVER ONCE brought him home for a visit that was around three years ago. She claimed that the School DID NOT ALLOW COLLIN TO VISIT HOME, EVER! Jon had to go to Court to learn where his own son was because KATE WOULD NOT TELL HIM WHERE COLLIN WAS. JON now visits Collin and has started bringing him home for WEEKENDS AND COLLIN SPENT THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY with HANNAH AND JON. So, once again KATE LIED. SHE DID PUT THAT CHILD IN A 24 HOUR 365 DAYS PER YEAR OVER NIGHT BOARDING SCHOOL B.C. AND JUST LEFT HIM. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT SHE HAS BEEN VISITING HIM IN HIS SCHOOL...EVER. COLLIN WAS NEVER OUT OF THE BOARDING SCHOOL MOST LIKELY WHEN MOST, IF NOT ALL THE OTHERS, WERE GONE, COLLIN WAS LEFT...NOT INVITED HOME. HE HAS MISSED TWO BIRTHDAYS WITH THE REST OF HIS SIBLINGS, AND EVERY SINGLE HOLLIDAY IN OVER TWO AND A HALF YEARS! COLLIN'S WEEKEND VISIT TO HIS DAD'S, WAS THE FIRST TIME HE HAD BEEN IN JON'S HOME IN THREE YEARS. Collin, Hannah and Jon spent their birthday together at their school. Jon already has Permanent Custody of Hannah and has now applied for permanent Custody of Collin. I hope he is successful because he really wants to live with Jon. C Swank, I did hear a rumor that TLC offered to pay Jodi and Kevin since they seemed to be a big part of the children's lives. Kate said no. She was not going to let anyone else profit from her and her children. I saw no reason why they shouldn't pay them. They helped out so much with children. Kate treated Jon like he was a dog. I couldn't figure out how he hung in there so long. When she was going on "Dancing with the Stars", her partner Tony did not think much of her. I felt sorry for him because I think he was the most patient of any of the pro dancers and she tried to boss him around, telling him how to show her how to dance.

i don't think that the show was a form of entertainment for me, it helped me to understand how hard it is for parents to raise so many children on their own. It's like the discovery channel, helped me understand something that will soon be in history books. i luved their show and still do, i just hope, like the aunt and uncle that the children are safe and happy! :)

It’s amazing that none of the extended family members are in the show. I guess she doesn’t want anyone else in her spotlight. Maybe she should go where Colin is. !
The Show offered to pay her brother and sister in law. When Kate found out she was LIVID! She told the show that NO ONE would be paid except her. Period. So brother and sister in law were cut out of her life. She then went on a campaign to smear them because they spoke out about the kids being on the show stating the kids having told her that they didn't like the the cameras there ALL THE TIME. Kate filed suit, as she did if anyone told the TRUTH about the show and its negative effects on the children. Again, she dropped the suit because she COULD NOT WIN BECAUSE THEY WERE TELLING THE TRUTH. SHE certainly could not prove otherwise.

@@oneinvisibledoctor About a year and a half ago, I had learned about Collin. I have just read a lot and learned from many sources, books, newspapers, internet, interviews, etc., about Jon's issues in not getting to see his kids as Court ordered. Kate refused first, to tell him Collin was gone. He learned from the kids. Then she refused to tell him where he was. We have a close family friend who has been going through a similar situation and I know how devastating it has been for the dad. It doesn't take a lot to look up what is current. You can look up Jon's Twitter and hear from him where they are now. I am frankly, just happy to see him with two of his children with the lady he loves and her kids. I'm the grandmother to 9...ages 11 to 22. So no, I'm not nuts. I just have been rooting for him, Hannah and Collin. There are a few of us who post quite a bit. I appreciate when they add to the narrative. But I see Jon's family situation as being resolved for the these two children. Unless one of the other kids decides that they want to live with their Dad, and I haven't seen anything that would suggest that, this chapter seems to be closed.

Thank god those kids are all adults now. I know she damaged Collin but it will be difficult to see if the others have problems as well. That being said, Collin did his first interview as an adult and he was extremely well-spoken and level headed.
Relatives & friends just coming over for a "visit" not being filmed & that that can't happen is not normal! I agree with Jodi & Kevin that Kate is the one enjoying the fame, money & notoriety! These kids at some point are going to want their lives back!!! Sure the money is providing a lot for this large family but it's a bigger price tag than anyone realizes!
Janet Campbell they have their lives. They get to go to a nice school, afford a decent house, and live comfortably. They get to be themselves on TV
@@MusicSeason22 But there is a limit. Too much camera time would lead to rebellion because there will be times when the kids don't want the cameras and just want to be left alone.

What's sad the kids have told their aunt and uncle that they dont like the cameras, and in interviews with the kids, when they're asked if they like being in tv the kids look at their mom then smile and says they love it.
@LightlyLexi You are right about one thing - the kids don't mind anymore but it's because something Jodi said finally got through Kate's head. Kate allowed camera's to go into the kids bedrooms which meant they didn't have a private place in their home they could escape too, Near the end Kate finally said No Camera's in the bedrooms. Which is what Jodi said was all they were concerned about - the kids having a place to go when they didn't want the camera in their face.
Every time Kevin starts talking, the interviewer interrupts him and asks Jodi another question. That's so weird! Anyway.... I do agree that it's not a great environment for the kids. Each of those cameras comes with a camera MAN (or woman) who is just always there watching them every day. That's.... weird.

Why does Kate always ask herself questions and then answer them, i.e., "did I ever see myself on the front of a tabloid"? No.

Hello and then Dance Moms comes along. We do need to protect these children! They are too young to go against their parents and the parents think this is what’s best for them because of the opportunity. Kids need to be kids and be allowed to mess up and grow up without everyone judging and criticizing.
Now rewatching the series, omg it did get so awkward in season 4. Kate always ragged on him but you see it go from playful nagging with her tapping his thigh and leaning into him to both of them crossed arms, giving each other dirty looks. I always liked Kevin and Jodi. Glad they spoke out.
I think the nagging was never playful in my opinion. It was appalling. It taught the children how to speak and treat others.

Lol. Who ever couldn't see Karen..um..Kate wasn't a monster is either blind, acting like her, or been abused into thinking that was normal. You do not berate your mate like that in a restaurant let alone national TV. This is proof tho, no matter how little you think something, other people might feel differently and when feelings aren't respected then people start looking for an out.
Jon and Kate loved the spotlight, money and trips it was obvious. With that you exploit your family and your kids suffer. Be careful what you wish for in life, fame is toxic.
With Kate in particular, I absolutely agree. Jon on the other agreed with documentary and reality TV at first. It was a test really to see if it might help pay the bills. Then by season 3 especially, he had absolutely enough, and in 2008 when people were filming, he got to points where he pushed camera crew out of the house. Kate was furious and petrified because she didn't want to get fried, and Jon didn't care if it lead to them being fired because he rather work for IT than him and family being exploited. It was very clear that it wasn't his job.

Now we know it’s all been Kate and Jon was basically just a slave who did what he was told. It’s sad this happened to Jon and the kids, Kate is a monster of a person. She only cares about herself and I’m glad TLC finally severed ties with her.
No one on here knows what goes on behind the cameras. Every person that has commented on here thinks that they know exactly what has happened. I feel like even though all of us have heard many sides of this story, we shouldn't be commenting negative things simply because we have no idea what goes on behind the scenes.

this didnt have to be told..viewers already knew she was a controling witch..the way she treated her husband and her children particularly colin..was awful..she was more like a drill sargent than a loving wife and mother..they way she labeled her innocent child a trouble maker was shocking

I agree. They even went as far as to pay all her legal fees so she could retain custody of the kids and let them keep filming despite Jon's objections.

At the start of all of this people where interested in a dad mom with 8 kids than they went on to making the show jon and kate needed the money as the kids got older they needed more but actually we all have to realize kate changed. Because she was the one with 8 kids in a small hose for 24/7 she got stressed!! And TLC should think on the kids there is times when they shouldt be filming some moments like kids crying, or alone time with the family is fine 1 day or 2 but not the whole time. later kate did get a little worse with the cameras but it can happen to everyone. And if she wants to get back on TV its to pay a million dollar house that they need, food for 9, school, security, taxes, collage, family time, and even more think about this instead of just saying stuff that you are not even sure of.

@ClaireMusicLove You aren't hearing her. She is saying it started off innocently, only being filmed a few hours a week and only certain moments which was okay. She drew the line when cameras were put in their bedrooms - their only private place in their home taken from them, and when they started being filmed more an more. Also if you watch older episodes they only allowed the film crew in their house for a few hours not the kids whole stay at their house.

From the time the show started, at least by the time they were half way through season 1, it was so rare to see Mady and Cara smile. I eventually stopped watching it because Mady and Cara looked so unhappy, even angry sometimes. I think the little kids loved it because of all the extra attention and it's all they knew from the time they were infants but it's hard enough to live with 3 brothers and 3 sisters and be a twin. How is it a good idea to have cameras in your house all the time, to have cameras in your face when you go out in public, to be known as a "Gosselin", to not be an individual? It's not healthy! There should be laws to protect children in reality tv shows. When a child under 18 works on a television series, they are not allowed to film more than 4 hours a day! It's the law. A child under 4 is not allowed to work more than 2 hours. But these kids lives were filmed, their parent's divorce was filmed and they'll never get away from it!

@WildKamots They had press following them because they are tv personalities now. That's what Kate signed up for when she started this venture, and lobbied for it to continue when it stopped. Also, those who are skeptical and critical of Kate's version of the Colin situation, are not blindly following media reports. They're thinking for themselves. The notion that we don't live there or really see their lives, so don't know how bad Colin is, doesn't fly. It's fair to say he's spent more than half his young life in front of the cameras. I'm betting a large part of his personality is what we see on camera. You really think he turns into this beastly, unmanageable Dr. Hyde as soon as the cameras go off? A child, who as Kate puts it, was "affecting the entire family" so much that he had to be raised in a group home by mental professionals? She's said how much of a relief it is. How does she even sleep at night? Lastly, you may have heard of a couple of shows where he joined his family.. (at least one of them was before he left) He still isn't there near enough. Kate appears to have effectively isolated her kids from all extended family.. His immediate family seems to be all he has. He's a SEXTUPLET; been with his fellow sixes from the womb. How will this arrangement affect his relationship with them? To feel estranged from his family and their activities? Is that better for his "behavioral problems"? Could he have gone to outpatient therapy and a special school where he comes home at the end of the day? Millions of kids do. Again, is he really a threat to himself and his household? These are the questions many viewers are asking. Doesn't come from news stories, cuz those stories aren't out there. (Sorry abt the length)
