I usually prefer to fly,but took an executive train from Jakarta to Jogjakarta last year..6 hours journey .wasnt too bad.If i did it again,i would pack a meal to take with me,as the food carriage was packed when we went to it...May get to Surabaya one day..Look forward to seeing what Surabaya offers.
I cannot seem to book internal flights any longer, so recently took the bus the Jojga, at 9.5 hours it was only marginally worse than the train, which is itself only marginally worse than the flight. But I do worry about how isolated I seem to be becoming.
I've never traveled in Indonesia by train either, but it looks comfortable! Yes, that's what I heard from a friend before as well, that Surabaya is cleaner than Jakarta 😆
Looks really different, very clean and well organised. Just another big city with a huge service population and probably does not rely upon the tourism $.Really liking this trip. Thanks for taking the time to share.
Surabayan here, compared to Jakarta, I think Surabaya is a bit cleaner. But in terms of public transportation, Surabaya is abysmal, even compared to smaller cities like Surakarta (Solo) or Semarang. Especially for a foreigner like you, your option down to just Bluebird or Gojek
The train looks great!!! Comfortable seats with lotssss of leg room! So it was business class ticket how much was it? Lol 😂😂😂 laughing at the NO SCHNAKES SIGN!!!! Love train travel as you get to see so much 😊
I like to see another island of Indonesia. But it strikes me that it is very clean and tidy in Jogjakarta. Unfortunately, this is not the case everywhere in Bali. The train station is also very beautiful! Thank you for showing us this!
Tourism only represents 5 percent of Indonesian GDP, half of that from Bali, so Bali contributes 2.5 percent. Much are industry, trade, industrial agriculture like palm oil and rubber....also mining.
