This is what the majority of believers are missing out on today. I could be wrong, but I think it’s impossible to be a disciple without it. It took me at least a year to renew my mind after I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Once I converted the knowledge of this into understanding, and really received the revelation on what I had, it revolutionized my life. Thank you Andrew for helping the body grow disciples

I've been praying for over a year to receive the Spirit, been prayed for by others several times. I get so discouraged sometimes. I'm not sure why I don't receive, but I think it has to do with the condition of my heart. I'm reading the Bible hours a day and praying often that God will lead me to the place where I can receive or send someone to help me.
I want to be transformed and live a life for God.

@@danielbu2611 This needs to received by faith. There’s nothing you can do to deserve it. When we tie our works like reading our Bibles for hours a day in hopes that he will send the gift, we cancel out Grace. Grace is an unmerited/unearned gift from God. You need to believe(faith) that God gave you the Holy Spirit by Grace.

@@therealmagicmike4225 I hear you. I don't read and pray to earn it. I do it to search and understand because I have tried many times to receive by faith believing that I have already received and just need to take it, but haven't received. Either my faith is wrong or something else.
The reason I mentioned the heart is because in Acts 15, Peter says God saw their hearts and gave them the Holy Spirit. Additionally, in Acts 8, it seems that Simon could NOT receive because his heart was full of wickedness and jealousy if memory serves. It seems like a prerequisite.

Ok, I'm ready. How do I receive? Been born-again for 39 years, but the church I attended did not teach this. We were taught that it all passed away when the apostles died......etc. There are no churches in my area that teach this. We don't attend church anymore because there's no power. Can I receive the Baptism on my own - at home? How? I have asked the Lord numerous times, but nothing happened. Please advise.

my husband received by reading Acts 2nd chapter. Read Bible verses about Holy Spirit coming on people in New Testament and pray that you can receive it. If you have a chance-ask a person who speaks in tongues to pray for you to receive or go to a conference where people believe in it and you can also receive.

I myself went through the very same thing for years and years, and years. I would ask God to endow me with his holy spirit I knew I was saved. And nothing happened. I called Andrew's ministry talk with a young lady she prayed with me. And I just spoke whatever words came out and didn't sound like English. I let her know I don't feel a thing is this real. She said it's not about feeling. Practice your language keep speaking that's what I've been doing God bless.

Was singing the alter call at a revival a few years back. Had IT happen to me. Older lady came up praying in tongues. Felt like someone turned a heatlamp on my head. Felt unbelievable power/strength. Could have picked up a car.lol. Made singing kinda tough. Wasnt sure what had happened just knew it was the holy spirit. Asked 5-6 preachers of different denominations, none could explain. About a year later, I read it for myself what had happened, in the bible. Many preachers dont have an idea of how it works. Maybe it's not taught anymore.

If you have asked God to baptize you with the holy ghost and desire his prayer language for you, you do this by faith believing that what you ask He will do. He wants this for you even more than you do.
Then just thank him for his goodness. Thank him that such beautiful gifts are possible and that it is out of His great love for us that he provides this. Then just worship Him.
Relax your mouth and tongue to be free to release syllables and words that will be foreign to you. It may seem strange at first because we are used to being in control. By nature we are control freaks. But we have a NEW nature that desires the things of God. It's about trust. Trust God to give you good gifts such as this and more.
When the syllables and words come, give Him permission to flow throughout your day and often. Your prayer language will develop into a lovely flow. We need this. Read or listen to Andrew's book or teaching series "The New You and the Holy Spirit." Also, "The Present-Day Ministry of the Holy Spirit." Blessings to all. ❤

Regardless of feelings or the lack of outward sensations, God's Word promises that if we have asked, believing, we have received (Matt. 21:22). If you have already asked and received, now you can renew your mind to be able to walk in the gifts and power of the Spirit.

Since God is no respecter of persons, you can expect exactly what the 120 received ... and what all the Jews from all the nations received = as Peter said they would receive in Acts 2:39. Yes, Acts 1.8. You will receive power after Holy Spirit come UPON you = just like acts 2:1-4.

Dear Andrew, I am reaching out, asking for your guidance and direction, in an area that you may not have heard people asking for much, if at all. I am asking you, as someone that I truly respect and have listened to over the past 28 years and know to be a servant of God, with fruit (signs following). First let me put a little meat on the bones. I got born again, Labor Day 1991, baptized in water a year later, when I recognized and understood this significance. Then in about 1995, I recognized the need for and received the baptism in the Holy Spirit with signs following: many being born again and a number of miraculous healings. I even would lay in bed at night and sometimes I'd be trying to sleep, but would hear my spirit man praising God and would even ask him to hush, so the flesh could rest (right now, if you have no idea, nor experience in hearing your spirit man worshipping, then you might find my statement a bit crazy. My hope is that you know what I've said from your own personal experiences).
Then, in mid '96, due to my failures in the flesh, as a single man and with no Godly men, to which I felt I could hold myself accountable, I fell into some sin. Even after I repented, I still (in myself) felt that I did not deserve His empowerment and have not walked in that constant state of miracles, seeing others born again, and healed, as I once experienced. However, I have increasingly pursued the heart of God and have had a deepening and much more mature love and appreciation for my Lord and Savior. Now, here's my ask: I long to walk in a renewed in-filling (like a renewed baptism in the Holy Spirit) and I am asking for your guidance. Can you help me in this renewing? Thank you for your guidance

God knows from the beginning who are his and only he will grant them with the Holy Spirit, sad reality is that not all Christians will receive, hence they never change and wonder why they continue to repeat sin over and over after Christ has given us the victory, but like I said only God knows our hearts and only those faithful loving obedient followers of the truth will be saved at the end. Out hearts are evil and deceitful among all our only God changes it when we obey him, Fear God and keep his commandments in Holiness and he will bless us with whatever we ask for according to his Will, your will de done Lord and not mine. Gods longs for our faithfulness obedience and Holiness, and as he sees us surrender our will to his, he sees our hearts and knows we are dead serious, then we ask him for the Holy Spirit and he will grant us our desire, coz only he knows our hearts. Roman's ch.10 says that if we confess with our mouth Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you shall be saved. But Romans10: 10 says " For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
The Word " unto" is the Greek word eis which is a preposition indicating movement toward a goal. Believing with our heart and confessing with our mouth is only the beginning of the born again process that saves us.
Look at the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts ch. 8:35-38 Philip tells the Ethiopian about Jesus. Obviously the Ethiopian believed but he didn't just say he did he showed he did by saying, " Here is water what hindered me from being baptized ? And he showed he believed by being water baptized .
The same was true with the disciples that Paul encountered in Acts ch.19. Paul told them that John the Baptist said to believe on the one to come after him Jesus Christ. The Word says that upon hearing this they went down into the water and were baptized. Paul then layed hands on them to recieve the Holy Spirit and when they did they spoke in tongues as the first evidence that it had happened and Paul stopped praying for them.
We believe by obeying to gospel plan of salvation first spoken of by Peter in Acts ch.2. Not to do so is just to mentally assent to something being true not salvation.

@jenfed1512 The gift of speaking in tongues is a different operation of the Holy Spirit than speaking in tongues as the first evidence that a believer has recieved the Holy Spirit and the private prayer language.
Paul said concerning the spiritual gifts that" But the manifestation of the Spirit is to profit withal"( everyone)( 1Cor.12:1,7)
The prayer language, following the initial sign is to profit, or edify only the speaker. Paul refers to it as the unkown tongue " that no man knoweth" (1Cor.14:2).
If no man knows it then it isn't a language native to this world.
Paul also said," He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself"(1Cor.14:4).
Lastly, Paul spoke of him speaking in " tongues" in private prayer," When I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.."( 1Cor.14:14). In other words he doesn't understand what he is saying.

As Jesus told Nicodemus, you must be born again. Born from above. Born of water(refers to the Holy Spirit, not water baptism) even the word.
Hen one is born again, he is baptised by the Holy Spirit. There is not a second work of the Holy Spirit coming and going after one is born again. One is sealed by the Holy Spirit at salvation.
If one does not hae the Holy Spirit he is not saved, as Romans 8:9 says: "The Spirit Of God Dwell In You; Now If Any Man Have Not The Spirit Of Christ, He Is None Of His"
If saved, you have all of the Holy Spirit

This teaching is not accurate. A person receives the indwelling of the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation, the moment you and I placed our faith alone in Jesus Christ for our forgiveness. The reason why the disciples and all the other people who believed in Jesus didn't receive the Spirit at their moment of salvation was because Jesus had not been glorified yet and He had not ascended back to the Father yet. Once that happened, the Spirit could be poured out. John 7:37-39 and Ephesians 1:13

@@jamesh2711 He is not correct. Many do not have the Lord work in them in this sort of way and through them in this sort of way because they do not believe in these sort of things, much less seek it out.
An account to share. Someone led a prayer at a Bible study that healed me of an affliction I had. I was not a believer at the time. This was very key in me understanding the gospel to be true and being led to repentance and becoming a Christian. I met with her one winter evening when I was on the cusp of a very difficult trial period in my life that lasted approximately three years, a period of time God did a lot of sanctifying work with me.
I expressed interest in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit when I met with her that evening. She told me to not overthink it, to just begin to pray. After saying that, she said "Jesus is your Lord?" I replied yes. "And you love Him?" I said "Of course". We joined hands and began to pray. I had faith I would begin to speak and the Lord would do something in that moment.
I began speaking and it was my own accord. It was humble. I was saying I am sorry when I get it wrong in how I think and speak and act at times, I want to be better in my walk with the Lord. I was of a humble posture before the Lord.
Then the Lord began working through His Holy Spirit. I felt energy bubbling and moving in my midsection, my torso. It was a "positive" feeling energy. I was speaking but it was God through His Holy Spirit. I yielded and allowed God to operate through His Holy Spirit. My voice raised in volume and was impassioned with pain and grief. "We are all broken! We all need God! We all need Jesus Christ! Many know the gospel but do not accept it! They reject it, don't believe what Jesus has done for them on the cross! They want to go their own way and live life how they see fit! They don't know what they are doing! Jesus is the only means of salvation!"
God then stopped working through his Holy Spirit in this way. The woman praying with me spoke in tongues at times as this happened (when God spoke through me). I began speaking things of my own accord again. We concluded the prayer. When God spoke through me, He chose not to put grief in my heart, but there was grief in my voice as I said those things. It was lamentation. As this happened, the gospel was affirmed. There was also lamentation that many did not accept the gospel that they have knowledge of.
When I went through the difficult trial period I mentioned, this helped a lot. It was so difficult, nonetheless. Thank you God for providing for me in such a way right as I entered this three year period of personal tribulation.
These things are indeed a thing, God does work in and through His Christians in such ways. All the spiritual gifts are there for us to utilize, He has not rescinded some centuries ago in the days of the early church, He has not.

2:41 "but it includes speaking in tongues" this is not Biblical. If you ask yourself, when have I heard someone speak in another language who previously had not learned that language, what would be your response?
The forcing of speaking in modern day tongues, to which he is referencing is unBiblical. This leads to disingenuous experiences.
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:11
[11] It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.
Moreover, it does not refer to a heavenly prayer language.

  • @NinLac

WRONG! When you accept Jesus as Lord of your life, THAT'S when the Holy Spirit comes to change your way of thinking. It convinces you to act differently.
At pentecost, the APOSTLES had the gift of tongues which where OTHER KNOWN LANGUAGES to eveangelise the world NOT the church. Those are old pagen ways from other gods which are rebuked by Paul in 1 Corinthians 14.

Do you recall the place where Paul writes "if I speak in the tongues of men and of ANGELS, but have not love, it profits me nothing."?
There are too many personal testimonies of people being immersed in the Spirit to say that it doesn't happen. It is in fact, the "seal" (which means "marked or authenticated as genuine") mentioned in Eph 1:13.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit is called a gift in Acts, so the gentiles receive it as a gift and Peter retelling the event notes the words of the Lord that came to him (Peter) regarding the baptism of the Holy Spirit at the time the gentiles received the gift of the Holy Spirit. So the gift of the Holy Spirit and baptism of the Holy Spirit are the same. At the gentiles house the gift/baptism came before water baptism: This was a change and was new. In Ephesians the Holy Spirit is the guarantee of our inheritance that comes after believing the Gospel (Do you see any indication that it happens at a later time in the following quote from the Epistle to the Ephesians?). Eph 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who[d] is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. (end quote)

In order to believe you must have the Holy Spirit within you. So the receipt of the Holy Spirit after you believe is not for regeneration, but power, and is referred to as the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. It is this event to which Eph 1:13 refers: they received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit after they believed and therefore after the Holy Spirit was already in them unto regeneration.

Of course the disciples waited! The Holy Spirit was not yet given. Every believer has been baptized by the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:13

You get water baptism after you born again (accept Jesus) as believer. In the same way, you get baptized by the Holy spirit after you are born again. You know the date you were water baptism. Then do you also know the date you were Holy Spirit baptized?

No, every believer has the Holy Spirit within him, but that is not the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a coming 'upon' the believer by the Holy Spirit, unto power and supernatural gifts. Most believers today have not received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. They are born again and they have the Holy Spirit within them, but the Holy Spirit has not come 'upon' them.
