@Linda T Both of you contradict the Scriptures. That's not a good position to take. If you cannot see that then you have been fooled by man and not taught by the Holy Spirit. It should be obvious, either you are taught by the Spirit or by man. The Scriptures are abundantly clear you are to be taught by the Spirit not man. I thank Derek Prince because I visited a church that had the same belief and it shocked me. I grew up as a Christian my whole life and was so confused. It fell on my heart for weeks and I was questioning EVERYTHING about salvation and my faith. I later wanted more answers so I looked at Derek’s teaching on this and made it clear. He had steps that helped me receive the Holy Spirit. You have to thirst to receive the Holy Spirit, continuously knocking on the door like I did during those weeks. Ask and you shall receive. I asked clearly to God for the Holy Spirit and one night I did. It was an amazing experience. I opened myself up to God and opened my mouth and began speaking in tongues for hours. For the entire morning the next day I felt the most joy and happiness in my entire life I will never forget. I was smiling and laughing and couldn’t contain it haha, even when I walked past people!
I have the seal of the Lord. I have not spoke in tongues, but I know I'm saved, sealed, and sanctified by the holy spirit. I believe that Jesus died, was buried and arose on the 3rd day. I'm saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ!!!!🙌
The Bible says explicitly that not all will speak in tongues. Neither will all possess any other particular gift of the spirit. We should desire the gifts and more than that, desire to use them for the benefit of others and for the glory of God.
And yet you are deceiving yourself. If Jesus said, these sign will follow those who believe, and it doesn't follow you, it means you believe in the wrong gospel. So simple.

"God has given him an annointing," but not you, obviously. Problem is, without the annointing how can you know or recognise? You don't see that he has fooled you?
@@Noname-qz5hg It should be fairly self explanatory. You can only know truth if it is revealed to you from God. Then of course you will not need others with some sort of special claim to tell you. The comment by Brother Paul indicates that he does not have the annointing but attributes rather to Derek Prince as being someone special. That contradicts Scripture which plainly declares even the least can know.. It also, of course, is very dangerous and will bring any into bondage to man. Always the false claim some special annointing or power which you have to depend upon, but Scripture delivers us from that in requiring revelation direct from God for any individual. Those that do not have that or fail to pursue that are therefore easily led to follow man. Thus the sheep are separated from the goats. Whatever man or preacher you find you can always also find another that contradicts him. They all say something different.Who then to believe? The answer is so simple. Stop listening to men and rather hear God through His word. Is that sufficient, and does that properly address your query? It took me a few weeks after being born again to know anything about speaking in tongues! I was literally convicted by The Holy Spirit through the word of God that I am a miserable wicked sinner! And that in and of myself I can do absolutely nothing to save myself! But Praise God in the same moment He revealed My Saviour Jesus Christ! Immediately I humbled myself and gave my life to Jesus.., this is the moment I became born again and received The Holy Spirit! However, a few weeks later I was filled with The Spirit and honestly it felt like Jesus Christ had stepped into me.., He Himself in a vision filled me with Gods Spirit then it just felt like He stepped inside of me..., I also felt like this was my being SEALED with The Holy Spirit..., tongues came a few weeks later. When I speak in tongues it usually is when i'm in deep prayer, i've humbled myself before The Lord, and the Spirit literally takes over, my lips begin to tremble and I just know He wants to pray through me and for me..., I never have any idea what He's praying but usually not long after miracles happen and i wonder if they are in answer to HIS prayers on my behalf!
@@roseofsharon7553 I do too. God just told me He’s got to grow me up a little more first though. It’s like if my now 19 year old daughter had asked me when she was 10 to buy her a car. I fully intended on making sure she had this gift (a car) but at 10 I couldn’t give it to her, I had to get her a little older first, raise her more. I believe that’s what God has said to me specifically about why He hasn’t been able to give me this gift yet. Not now doesn’t mean never. Be patient. Every parent wants to give their children good gifts, our Father is no different.

Derek prince is correct. The only way to know that the Holy Spirit truly lives inside of you is if you’re speaking in tongues. Read mark 16:16-17, it says that the one who believes in Jesus, they must be able to speak in tongues. What Paul said in 1 Corinthians was speaking in other languages which is a gift from God. If you read acts, when the Holy Spirit entered the apostles they spoke in tongues. Don’t be deceived my friend.

I spoke in tongues many, many years ago while I was still a child. I was approximately 12 years old. We were on a church camp with thousands other people from other towns. It were Easter. I went into the praying tent, the tent were full of people, each praying out loud. I only started praying when something happened to me - I started praying in tongues! I can't describe it. My friend were also praying. I grew up ... and life happened. I sinned. I asked God to forgive me. There were long times I didn't attend any church services. Is that seal still on me pastor Derek Prince?

This is a comforting message. I've seen a lot lately about speaking in toungs needing to be interpreted and almost had doubts about my encounter with the holy ghost. I know that is the devil trying to discredit my faith.
I don't think that a person who speaks in tongues must have the gift of interpretation. But what the bible says is that he/she should not use the gift of tongues in church if there is no one to interpret. It can be used at home while praying alone. Please correct me if I am wrong.

We are to walk by faith, not signs and manifestations which are contrary to faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Three times the injunction, The just shall walk by faith is cited in the New Testament which makes it certain and of supreme importance. The Charismata died with the Apostles. Now after nearly 2000 years of no Charismata it is suddenly claimed today. But as indicated the charismata undermines faith, being the opposite, residing in signs and manifestations, not at all needed now we have God's word complete and established. And by this are we to hear and walk. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Even in the O T God's word was exalted above even His Own name. I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. It is the same today. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. @@Must_not_say_that there is nothing like the presence of God. I believe you haven't experienced it. I'm not against God's word. For me, half of my life is filled by the word of God and other half by the Holy Spirit. Some exalt the word above the spiritual experiences. Some do it the other way. I don't agree with both. I have my own experiences where the Holy Spirit spoke to me and guided me in certain ways (which are not contradicting the scripture) and every time I obeyed, it turned out to be a miracle. God speaks to me not only through His word, but directly as well. Just because you are not experiencing it doesn't mean it is not there, my brother. Just to give you a small idea of my background; I was a Hindu. The Lord opened my eyes (through a verse in the bible and impressions that has got nothing to do with bible, and my circumstances played their part as well) 2 and a half years back. Then He spoke to me through a sermon and asked me to go back to my war torn hometown. He gave me a vision. I was a freemason and had many goals connected to business. I left everything behind and went to my hometown (all glory to God only). Here He has been talking to me and guiding me to achieve my vision. I am the only Christian in this area. What I manage to earn here is only about one fifth of the amount needed to meet my basic needs. But the Lord always meets my needs in miraculous ways. I don't ask anyone for help. If I am in need of something I go to Him. He has never failed to meet any of my needs. I am obedient to Him. I stand as a Christian in this Hindu community in the midst of many verbal persecutions. I am able to live like this only because of Jesus. Our church is a small church that has about 70 beleivers. We are obedient to God’s word and also want to be filled with the Spirit. If anyone is lacking either, they can't lead a life Jesus expects them to do. I listen to Paul Washer. Even he has shared an experience of his where God had guided him by impressing something in his mind. He says that we should be filled with the Spirit that our lives should be supernatural. You may deny it. But you can't deny my experiences. God expects 2 things from me. To walk in obedience to Him and His word and be humble. I am not saying that you are wrong to follow the word of God. How can I? It is the word of God. It is my authority in everything. But what I am saying is this. You are missing out the opportunity to experience Him. There is nothing else like this in this world. No amount of money or pleasure can beat it. I will be praying for you. God will reveal the truth. God bless you abundantly

@@timothyweakly2496 I really like Derek Prince, but this video clip (perhaps entire sermon clarifies, I didn’t watch the entire sermon yet) implies one might not be saved without showing the proof (speaking in tongues) of having the Spirit. This troubled me to hear so I immediately went to scripture, which is my authority, and 1 Corinthians 12:30 shows we do not all have this gift and that’s ok. We know we are saved through faith proved by a repentant heart, and we should be seeking to deploy the respective gifts each of us has been given to the glory of God. Use the 10 virgins for example as an illustration of what I am talking about. 5 wise 5 foolish all were virgins though born again pure undefiled. Yet 5 had oil and 5 did not. To me and again just to me and this is my own confusion not to sway anyone left or right it seems both have valid points. What I have noticed in my own circle of life is those who believe they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit usually alongside water baptism have no visible signs or evidence that they have it meaning the gifts of the Spirit. They claim they have never spoken in other tongues by the spirit healed prophecy interpretation of tongues, And whatever other gift the Spirit may give. Again I am the one who's confused not God but what I do see is those who do not believe in what princes saying in their circles there usually isn't anything taking place. When Paul spoke to that church at least from their viewpoint they had all kinds of spiritual gifts operating in that church? Such proof would be valid if it was taking place. Let's say someone comes to an assembly and someone is speaking in tongues if their initial sign was the interpretation of that tongue I have yet to see it. Or healing or any other gift is my point. Nevertheless I have also seen and again I must reiterate I am the one who is confused may all glory be to God and confusion to me, That those who believe in the initial sign of speaking in tongues usually only have that gift and haven't as Paul stated, to further along to require more gifts as we ought to pray for like the better gift of prophecy. It is all by the same spirit but I see no raising of dead, hardly know healings there's much not going on anymore there's much not special miracles like they did with Peter in the shadow of healing people happening anymore. Not that just because I have not seen does not mean it is not taking place I believe God is the same yesterday today and for ever in Christ Jesus through his church. But then as you have stated through the word of God which I can not deny Paul clearly says what you have said, do all speaking tongues? then he also said he wished they all spoken tongues like himself but rather they prophesied. I’m not sure how this is thought of today but historically the Anglican Church is the Catholic Church of England. The Catholic Church of Rome cares nothing about Biblical accuracy IMO. Am I wrong?
In Christ ye also trusted after ye heard the word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation, in Whom also after ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Eph 1 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption Eph 4 The Holy Spirit is the seal , speaking in tongues was a sign or a result of receiving God the Holy Spirit in us, I didn’t speak in tongues after being baptised, but when I heard about it , it’s sounded strange but I thought to myself if this is true then I wanted to and prayed to God to give it to me , and use it only when praying , after few years I stopped used it and later on I asked God again if it was of Him and if He would want me to pray in tongues, after few weeks from asking God and forgetting all about it ,in my prayer time out of the blue praying in tongues started flowing out my mouth I believe God has answered my question and since then I had no doubt anymore.

We know in parts. Derek was still humble with his position. Power is the seal or evidence, not tongues. I know believers who moved mightily in the power of God and many more who had other clear demonstrations of the grace of God, even prophesying, without even speaking in tongues. Are we saying many of those who moved in God's power in centuries before Azusa or Welsh revival? Arnold Fructenbaum best explained the consistent expression of tongues in the 4 examples we have in Acts. He was wrong with this but I respect him deeply because he is careful with the scriptures.
I grew up in a Pentecostal church. I listen to many different teaching on the Holy Spirit. No one can accept Jesus Christ if the Holy Spirit doesn’t move his heart. When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord we receive the seal of the Holy Spirit. So every believer has the seal of ownership by the blood of Christ. The Baptist of the Holy Spirit in speaking in tongues in Act 2 is different from the seal of ownership. The Anointing of the Spirit will be pour out on the believers for a calling to his services. You will know you have the Baptist for you will speak in tongues and feel his power. The anointing will take your tongue and speak the spirit language on its own. Then God we give you a gift of the Spirit for his services. The gift is not to think we are more righteous but that God grace is merciful to the gentile for his love. Yes, you have the seal of the Holy Spirit but the Baptist is different then the seal.
Not by listening to man, that's for sure. There are various tests. Scripture will determine. If it is from external stimulation then you can know it is but emotionalism. Consider too that the Scriptures show that joy comes in adversity and suffering according to the Lord's will. If is is from God then you will not produce it. So many just turn it on thus showing it is not from God. You have to prove all things.
When it happens to you it is undeniable! It is a supernatural otherworldly experience that changes you dramatically for the better. You can’t stop talking about Jesus to everyone. I speak in tongues also.

@@joycekumari6385 what's the difference between a sign and a seal? They're the same difference. He also stated that speaking in tongues was evidence that you received the holy ghost. When the holy ghost first came it filled everyone in the upper room and they knew it because everyone in the room spoke in tongues. The holy ghost didn't pick and chose who to gift tongues, interpretation of tongues etc. Tongues are the initial evidence one you received the holy ghost everything else you've stated is a gift that comes with the spirit whether it be healing of the sick, interpretation of tongues, word of knowledge and so on.
Not at all. This is a part of Derek's teaching that I do not agree with because Paul mentions very clearly not all of us have the same gift. Others will speak in tongues others won't... It doesn't mean you're not saved if you don't speak in tongues! I don't speak in tongues myself and I'm saved.
This is not about salvation--if you do what it says it Romans 10:9-10, repent of your sins abd believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, then you will be saved. This is about receiving the power to be witnesses for Christ, as explained in the early chapters of the book of Acts. Also see Acts 19:1-6 for more about salvation and baptism in the Holy Spirit.
@@streetofdreams4538 The seal is the Holy Spirit but the Lord gives to each person in the body as He wills. Not all will speak in tongues, not all will have the same gift... If we all had the same gift then there wouldn't be a body because we would all have the same function. Not speaking in tongues doesn't mean you haven't been baptised in the Holy Spirit.
He who believes and is baptized shall be saved... these signs will follow those who beleive: they shall cast out demons in My name, they will speak with new tongues... Please check your faith, that you believe in the right Jesus, and that you repented and buried your old sinful life in full waterbaptism. Otherwise you're not born again out of water and Spirit. You must follow the instructions of Jesus, not what Christianity teaches.
Here’s my thought, I know of a guy who was a Pentecostal who prayed & prayed & then spoke in tongues. But then later identified as a an atheist. He still believes that their is something magical or mystical that runs through the world that causes this kind of spiritual stuff to happen because his spiritual experience was powerful, but he is no longer a Christian but once identified that way. So I don’t know if it truly could be the seal. I think if it was so important the Old Testament would mention it much more along with its other foreshadowings to Christ. I’m also a bit confused. I also wonder if perhaps tongues was a sign to the Jewish people as a reference back to the Tower of Babel. God was very thoughtful & constantly referencing back to the Old Testament. Now instead of peoples being separated, people were now unified & speaking out in languages so all could understand the glory of God’s Gospel. Christ unified Jew & Gentile. God is so poetic. And the apostles would have realized this connection. I had watched another sermon of his where Prince said the baptism of the Holy Spirit was the cross, & total repentance. So this is a little confusing to me.

Mark 16:15-18 And he (Jesus) said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Everyone needs to watch his full length sermon on this before judging what he says. There’s a 52:03 long video where he breaks it down more. Receiving the Holy Spirit in being born again and being baptized in the Holy Spirit aka being filled with power from the Holy Spirit are 2 different events. See John 20:22 and then Pentecost in Acts. 2 different processes involving the same group of believers. Also some may have had the baptism in the Holy Spirit but didn’t have the outpouring through speaking in tongues. If you think you may have had the baptism but for whatever reason didn’t open your mouth and speak out, watch that video also.
Why not just get all of god you can!!! Doesn’t matter what you think it’s for everyone who wants it! It’s the promise of the Holy Spirit a gift from god!!! Praise the lord! Receive the gift, he wants to give it to you!
I am a child of God who walks around full of joy and praising Him, but never spoke in tongues. I wish I could. I am never alone and have to steal away time just to be in the scriptures as much as I can every day, maybe this is why. I think I just don’t know how to or when to.
You can’t force to speak tongues it is a gift that is given to you! If you desire to speak in tongues you just believe repent and pray and Desire every day and pray that you may be baptized in the Holy Spirit! Don’t give up people pray for years sometimes

Ik voelde toen een trilling door mijn lichaam gaan van mijn hoofd tot mijn tenen. Direct daarna werd ik heel rustig. De volgende ochtend was ik opnieuw heel onrustig. Dit duurde ongeveer een week. Ik had toen een droom dat ik in een gevangenis leefde. En een stem zei toen tegen mij dat de duivel uit mij moest. Ik heb toen gebeden of de duivel uit mij mocht gaan. Direct daarna voelde ik weer diezelfde trilling van hoofd naar tenen en aan het eind ervan zei een stem : je bent nu vrij! en nu de bijbel gaan lezen. Ik voelde toen ineens heel veel rust en liefde voor de medemens. Ik was veranderd van een zondig, egoïstisch mens naar een opnieuw geboren christen met heel veel liefde voor de ander. En ervoer heel veel rust. Als Jezus je vrij heeft gemaakt ben je vrij van de zonde en vrij van de dood. Mijn ziekte is achteraf het beste geweest wat mij is overkomen.
Derek Prince is mistaken here. Holy Spirit Himself is the seal of salvation, and anyone who has received forgiveness from sins from God is saved and has the Spirit dwelling in him. Speaking in tongues is just one of the various gifts the Spirit gives to the individual believer to enable him to serve Jesus and the church. (1 Corinthians 12:28-31) During the first Pentecost, speaking in tongues was a means to testimony to the various multi-ethnic peoples gathered in Jerusalem and to kick-start the church. Also his reasoning is faulted. Why would the seal need to be visible to mortal humans? Where in the Bible it says it must be? God knows who has His seal. The seal is for our salvation, and salvation comes from the Lord who will gather His own to Him. Whether other humans believe we're saved or not is irrelevant for our salvation.
Every believer is the book of Acts spoke in tongues when they believed. The only ppl disputing are those that do not speak in tongues. Seek the Holy Spirit with a sincere heart and you will receive.
I asked for the holy spirit. I havent spoke in tongue yet but I have overcome the strongest of long term sins..so does that mean I have the holy spirit anyway? I have dreams n visions, is that some of the holy spirit gifts?
The Holy Spirit is recieved as a result of the Holy Spirit baptism. Once a believer prays and God answers their prayer to be filled with the Holy Spirit they must yield/surrender the body's " most unruly member" the tongue to the Holy Spirit until He enables them to speak in the spiritual language called " tongues". Once the Holy Spirit enables them to speak the baptismal overflow occurs and they have been " born of the Spirit" ( John ch.3). The first part of being "born again" is water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ which is being " "born of the water". Being born of water and Spirit is being baptized in water and Spirit.
We clearly see that the Apostle Paul teaches that a believer receives the Holy Spirit by faith when one "believes" the Gospel message, Eph. 1: 13. This is also confirmed in Eph. 4: 30 where it says the Holy Spirit is the believers "seal" unto the day of redemption. It is further confirmed in Rom. 8: 16, because the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit. There is no "sign" for receiving the Holy Spirit because it's a KNOWING, not a feeling. We know in our spirit, we feel in our soul. If any man be in Christ he is a new creature, 2 Cor. 5: 17. When we are "in Christ" we have the Holy Spirit abiding in our spirit. This is an act of faith, believing the Gospel, plus nothing.

The moment we believe the Gospel, we are a new creature (2 Cor. 5: 17) "in Christ" and are children of God because of the Holy Spirit's witness (Rom. 8: 16). There are other Scriptures that will confirm this truth, but for now this is sufficient. We are also called to aet ourselves apart for God's service. In other words, we are also required to "live" the Christian life, (2 Cor. 5: 7), (Eph. 4: 1). There are more verses that describe our walk (works) than those that speak of our position. It's important to know that our walk has no bearing upon our position. Paul said we are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, (Phil. 2: 12). This salvation points to our sanctifcation. It is something that we "should" do, not that we will do, (Eph. 2: 10). Works are not automatic. We enter heaven by "faith in Christ" (no works). We enter the kingdom of heaven by "faithfulness to Christ" (works). Works are either earned or lost. Salvation is not.

I believed that the gospel was true my whole life until almost 3 years ago I put my true faith into the grace given by Christ and just as I know the date of my first birth, I also know the date of my second birth. Maybe every time Derek Prince saw someone baptized in the Holy Ghost he saw tongues. Though speaking in tongues is definitely a sign of someone receiving the Holy Spirit (as we see in Acts), does it happen every time? I don’t think the Bible says specifically that. Even if every occasion in the Bible of someone receiving the Holy Spirit was accompanied by tongues (which isn’t necessarily the case: in Acts 8 tongues isn’t mentioned specifically) that doesn’t necessarily mean it has to happen every time. There are other gifts of the Spirit. At this point I can’t say for certain tongues does or doesn’t happen every time someone is baptized in the Holy Ghost. But it might be presumptuous to say it happens every time. Also, for those who say things like “if you haven’t spoken in tongues you aren’t saved” just because Mark 16 says believers will speak with tongues, by your standard, does that mean if every single believer hasn’t drank something deadly and not died he isn’t saved? I don’t think so.
Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? You are born again when you believe. This is when we are saved and receive forgiveness of sins. The people in the upper room were already Christians. They were waiting for the gift, it is extra.
Just read what Jesus said how to be born again. Out of water and of Spirit. And read the great commission in Mark 16, which became the great omission because of a heretic called Martin Luther and his "faith alone" doctrine. Even the demons believe you know. Luther persecuted those who were rebaptized after repentance. We need to read our bibles without these religious glasses the institutionalized churches enforced upon us. So, let's see from Mark, do you cast out demons? Let's see if your faith is real, and that you are a DISCIPLE of Jesus, not a churchgoer Christian. The two things are not compatible.

According to Derek here you cannot have the Holy Spirit if you don’t speak tongues which is just wrong. The Holy Spirit IS the gift. Paul himself says not all speak in tongues. To teach otherwise is either ignorant or lying.
The Bible says that the seal is the Spirit of God indwelling the believer,not neccesary speaking in tongues. The Word also says that not all speak in tongues.
So many people are missing the point of what the man of God is saying. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is speaking with tongues. If this was a sure sign that they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in the early church. Why speak against it? That's why so many people are still in darkness as it is this day. Because they reject knowledge. Hosea said My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Such error. The Holy Spirit is the seal. Full stop. Not everyone has the same gift, its very clear in 1 Corinthians. The purpose of Acts 10 was to show that all are equal before God. The fruit is more important. Jesus addressed this many times. Preaching the gospel with boldness is also a mark of the Holy Spirit.

The bible says that people speak in tongues and prophesy when they are baptized in the new covenant. So how can we say that its the only gift that indicates the Spirits baptism? There are two gifts mentioned every time except pentecost
People can't receive the Spirit until they obey Him (Acts 5:32). Yahusha is Yahuah. "He who has seen Me has seen the Father" - see Yahuchanon 14:8-10 "They will look on Me whom they pierced" - see Yahuchanon 19:37, Zek. 12:10, Rev. 1:7, and Ps. 22:16-17. You might need to find some Spirit filled Christians who will lay hands on you and tarry with you to receive the Holy Spirit. I was saved for years, but it took a while for me to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit because I was raised in Christian churches that did not believe in it. Took laying on hands and spending some time with me years later from some Christians, for me to get it. As far as I am concerned this was an act of love on their part.

Study to shew thyself approves unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15. We need teachers and preachers. God says that in His WORD. BUT, YOU have to study that WORD for yourself. How can you say Amen, if you DON’T study the WORD and know it for yourself. God will give you clarity. He doesn’t want you to be ignorant of His WORD.
As a youngster I was hauled off to my step gramma's Penticostal church.There I witnessed many a tounge flapping seemungly babbling wigs flying off and something like faunting now how did the person always manage to vet behind the fainter just in time to catch her or him? The language too me was nonsensical. Dosen't mean it wasn't real. But knowing the Penticosts believe you have to speak in tongues as proof of your being saved I kinda doubt all I heard back then were in fact saved. Anyway the bible teaches to some are given different gifts. Gifts are from the giver. As mere humans we cannot expect The Father to give us all a gift of tongues.Also keeping in mind the spot in scripture that sais also a gift can be a translator of tongues for what good is a gift of tongues if no one present can relate what was just said in tongues? When the people I witnessed babbling like that started up one would begin then 2 or 3 others chimed in. It was clearly not my way but seemed put on and quite ridicoulous.Also there was no translation of what was uttered. I did not get anything out of it except a little frightened.

When he mentioned Christmas as an example it made me think of Jeremiah 10:2-5 where it talks about ine cutting a tree from the forest and decking it with silver and gold and it says the customs of the people are vain and to not do as the heathens do. Is this talking about Christmas? I stopped celebrating Christmas ect.. because i feel that they are man made holidays.
The Holy Spirit is recieved as a direct result of the Holy Spirit baptism. Many believers have felt the Holy Spirits presence and been filled with the Holy Spirit but have never recieved the Holy Spirit as a permanent indwelling presence. It takes being filled to overflowing for the Spirit to remain in the believer. The Word calls it the " anointing that abideth". The reason so many believers haven't experienced this is because when they pray for the infilling, and God answers their prayer, they won' t surrender their tongue ( the body's most unruly member) to the Holy Spirit so that He can take control of it. When He does this start the baptismal overflow which is testified to him and those praying for him that he has recieved the Holy Spirit just as they did by verbally speaking in tongues and they can stop praying for him. This is the Spirit baptism. What did Jesus say," I and the Father are one, I in him and him in me".
Maybe you don't Truly believe it. God will not give to you what you don't believe Him for. I think that's why so many people struggling with this. They don't believe it or what did for them. Shalom 🙏❤️💯 and so they deem it as unnecessary.

For my own personal relationship with God through prayer and then I am only able to understand what spirit is the best way to communicate with the Lord God Amen for to automatically start talking in tongues or whenever you are deeply in prayer for our families and friends and neighbour's, country, sick people and vulnerable people etc.. I have never been able to demonstrate that I can speak in tongues to prove that the Lord Jesus and his spirit is working in order to make the point that you have been blessed by God Amen. I have been led at certain times and the need for prayer for the Lord Jesus and his spirit to start speaking in tongues of authority over my prayers. I cannot summon the gift if it is not appropriate and not being just to demonstrate the gift of God Amen. Unless their is others who have the gift, and can interpret the language. Many people's who are speaking out loud about being able to speak in tongues and they are just taking like a babies and babbling, so the people's who are sitting in their homes and videos of themselves squawking and encouraging their actions to demonstrate that is the truth of tongues, and to just release sounds and use your tongue and mouth to create gibberish sounds too develop their own personal language and they are deceived by their own actions and their actions are deceiving others. Tongues is a testament of the bible and the Lord Jesus Amen and the holy spirit is a living spirit and the truth is spiritual maturity to receive the holy spirit and gift of tongues to understand through their actions and loyalty and obedience to be blessed by God Amen for note not everyone needs to be able to speak in tongues for different reasons and they have to know that different parts of the body of Christ Amen to have different types of gifts to the Lord Jesus and to explain that they are not going to be given the same if they are only baby Christians and they are only accepting milk and not sold food, and to understand that reading the bible and their daily worshiping God is the only way to progress in their spiritual lives to help people understand that tongues comes into existence when they have a personal relationship between themselves and God. To go through a process of refinement and understanding what humble yourselves before God is the only way to reach the truth and speak to God in his spiritual language.
Some are arguing here that not all receive the gift of tongues, so they say we should disregard the evidence of tongues for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. But there is a difference between the gift of tongues, being able to speak in multiple languages, and the evidence of tongues, or a single heavenly language, just as as there is between the gift of faith in I Cor. 12:9 and the faith by which all believers are saved and believe God's promises. Also see Acts 19:1-6 about a clear example about salvation vs. baptism in the Holy Spirit. Some might also be confused by the term he uses here of "gift" of the Holy Spirit instead of "baptism."
We are not Jews, yet we deliberately, and unbiblically, look for SIGNS, and we go against the teachings of our apostle Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles: "Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infant, but in your thinking be adults. I believe God has caused people to speak in tongues and prophesy. Also i believe paul layed hands on them and they did. Tongues indeed are a sign. Same as prophesying. But you have not explained how that justifies a belief that i need to speak in tongues or prophesy as a sign showing evidence of my salvation or else it isnt genuine. The new testament clearly teaches that anyone who believes in Jesus is not condemned. Besides that there are many people in scripture who believed in Jesus and were saved but did not speak in tongues. I still believe that tongues are a gift of the holy spirit and he distributes those gifts as he sees fit.
I love brother Prince and his teachings, but here I have to disagree. The bible says: Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? I Corinthians 12:29-30 NKJV You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Matthew 7:16-20 NKJV But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-25 NKJV So how do we know we have the spirit? By the fruit of the spirit.
Can a believer be baptized in the HS and sealed and not speak in tongues? In John 20:22 is the believer sealed and then in Acts is he baptized with power? This is confusing to me.
I believe you can be saved without speaking in tongues. The 1 John lists the attributes of a saved person, and he says he written the epistle so we can know we are saved. He never mentions speaking in tongues as a requirement.
Slow Hand. The Holy Spirit can work for a believer and through one but to have the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit one MUST have the Holy Spirit baptism and the biblical evidence that a believer has recieved that baptism is speaking in tongues, which is one spiritual language. All of Pauls' letters are written to churches full of believers that have already been born again according to John ch. 3 and Acts 2:38. Paul taught what the other apostles taught in Acts 2:38. In Acts ch.19 baptized certain disciples in the name of Jesus Christ. He then layed hands on them for them to recieved the Holy Spirit. He stopped praying for them when they started speaking in " tongues".
Derek prince is correct. The only way to know that the Holy Spirit truly lives inside of you is if you’re speaking in tongues. Read mark 16:16-17, it says that the one who believes in Jesus, they must be able to speak in tongues. What Paul said in 1 Corinthians was speaking in other languages which is a gift from God. If you read acts, when the Holy Spirit entered the apostles they spoke in tongues. Don’t be deceived my friend.

"Repent and be baptised".. The Apostles had already repented, so all that was left was for then to be spiritually baptised, baptised into identification with Jesus and his righteousness. Jesus was baptised into the will of the Father, which was to fulfil all righteousness. How was Jesus baptised?.. from the feet up, he walked into the river, (feet wet) He was then baptised when the water was deep enough for his whole body to be fully submerged. so the water went from toe to head. Experiencing the spirit and being baptised by spirit are not one and the same!.

I don't speak in tongues and God has used me before I've had dreams of the rapture many times. The Holy spirit has revealed some incredible truths of the Gospel to me. And not even once have I ever spoke in tongues. Because scripture clearly says not all of us can speak in tongues and quite Frankly I'm not moved to speak in tongues and yet I'm still assured that I'm saved. Because I'm justified through Faith in Jesus Christ alone. I think what shows that a person is born again or saved is the fruit or the fruits they produce. The Bible says. Tongues are LANGUAGES. Anyone claiming to speak in a spiritual tongue has to able to be tested, TO prove the authenticity. Read what GOD did on the day of Pentecost. What did the apostles quote from? Is it not scripture? If they did not have the king james version, but rather the greek and hebrew texts, and they quoted scripture, then how is it that you believe the king james is the only book that contains the word of God? Are you implying that for 1500 years the scriptures were lost? The king james translators did not have access to the many of the manuscripts that we have access to today. Besides that what about people who do not speak english? Are their versions invalid as well? Dont you think its more reasonable to go with the earliest texts you can get hands on and to be fair to the manuscript tradition. This ís the one and only message I have heard from Brother Prince I don't think I agree with. First off I know there are many many people saved including myself that have not spoken in tongues. Secondly I truly believe there are many people who are claiming to speak in tongues who are literally just babling and truthfully many of them may believe themselves they are speaking in tongúes. Third how do the people who are speaking in tongues know that it is legit unless they are repeating what they are being told to say. Lastly the Bible says not all will speak in tongues some will be translators and so so many other gifts that are just that gifts and most are unique to few. Everyone's gifts are different from the next believer. This message actually disappointed me a bit I'm very sad to say!

1 Corinthians 12:30 Is couched differently in different versions, some pose the issue of various gifts as a rhetorical question "Do all speak with tongues?" while others make a claim, "All don’t speak in different tongues, do they?". It is not clear to anyone not reading the source text in original language, which is the most accurate rendering. I don't know of any account from scripture where baptism of the Spirit is not accompanied by tongues, yet some scripture seems to indicate "tongues" is not given to all those who receiver the Holy Spirit. This apparent contradiction begs reconciling. There is still the question of what exactly is meant by "Tongues" In English, there appears to be 2 entirely different things rendered into the same word "Tongues" We don't have a lot of information from scripture and we do not have a continuous unbroken tradition (experience) of either upon which to form a out understanding. We have the Acts example where people hears their own "human" languages spoken by men who had not learned it. This is often used to say they "Tongues" has to be a real known language and anything else is rejected as babble (not a language). However, nonsensical delusion (false gifting). I think that is a really discouraging and harmful act and not even scripturally supportable. People doing that seem very selective in their choice scripture that they accept. So, where do I stand on this? Well, I'm a limited human being who doesn't know everything but God knows. Therefore I'll just look to my own walk of faith and let others do likewise.

I thank Derek Prince because I visited a church that had the same belief and it shocked me. I grew up as a Christian my whole life and was so confused. It fell on my heart for weeks and I was questioning EVERYTHING about salvation and my faith. I later wanted more answers so I looked at Derek’s teaching on this and made it clear. He had steps that helped me receive the Holy Spirit. You have to thirst to receive the Holy Spirit, continuously knocking on the door like I did during those weeks. Ask and you shall receive. I asked clearly to God for the Holy Spirit and one night I did. It was an amazing experience. I opened myself up to God and opened my mouth and began speaking in tongues for hours. For the entire morning the next day I felt the most joy and happiness in my entire life I will never forget. I was smiling and laughing and couldn’t contain it haha, even when I walked past people!

I have the seal of the Lord. I have not spoke in tongues, but I know I'm saved, sealed, and sanctified by the holy spirit. I believe that Jesus died, was buried and arose on the 3rd day. I'm saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ!!!!🙌
The Bible says explicitly that not all will speak in tongues. Neither will all possess any other particular gift of the spirit. We should desire the gifts and more than that, desire to use them for the benefit of others and for the glory of God.
This is one part of Derek Princes teaching I do not agree with! Not all will speak with tongues.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is about receiving power from on high, not about salvation. See Acts 19:1-6!
And yet you are deceiving yourself. If Jesus said, these sign will follow those who believe, and it doesn't follow you, it means you believe in the wrong gospel. So simple.

The comment by Brother Paul indicates that he does not have the annointing but attributes rather to Derek Prince as being someone special. That contradicts Scripture which plainly declares even the least can know.. It also, of course, is very dangerous and will bring any into bondage to man.
Always the false claim some special annointing or power which you have to depend upon, but Scripture delivers us from that in requiring revelation direct from God for any individual.
Those that do not have that or fail to pursue that are therefore easily led to follow man.
Thus the sheep are separated from the goats.
Whatever man or preacher you find you can always also find another that contradicts him. They all say something different.Who then to believe? The answer is so simple. Stop listening to men and rather hear God through His word.

It took me a few weeks after being born again to know anything about speaking in tongues! I was literally convicted by The Holy Spirit through the word of God that I am a miserable wicked sinner! And that in and of myself I can do absolutely nothing to save myself! But Praise God in the same moment He revealed My Saviour Jesus Christ! Immediately I humbled myself and gave my life to Jesus.., this is the moment I became born again and received The Holy Spirit! However, a few weeks later I was filled with The Spirit and honestly it felt like Jesus Christ had stepped into me.., He Himself in a vision filled me with Gods Spirit then it just felt like He stepped inside of me..., I also felt like this was my being SEALED with The Holy Spirit..., tongues came a few weeks later. When I speak in tongues it usually is when i'm in deep prayer, i've humbled myself before The Lord, and the Spirit literally takes over, my lips begin to tremble and I just know He wants to pray through me and for me..., I never have any idea what He's praying but usually not long after miracles happen and i wonder if they are in answer to HIS prayers on my behalf!

@@roseofsharon7553 I do too. God just told me He’s got to grow me up a little more first though. It’s like if my now 19 year old daughter had asked me when she was 10 to buy her a car. I fully intended on making sure she had this gift (a car) but at 10 I couldn’t give it to her, I had to get her a little older first, raise her more. I believe that’s what God has said to me specifically about why He hasn’t been able to give me this gift yet. Not now doesn’t mean never. Be patient. Every parent wants to give their children good gifts, our Father is no different.

The seal of God is the Holy Spirit ... And the gift of tongues is one of the many gifts. Not all speak in tongues

Derek prince is correct. The only way to know that the Holy Spirit truly lives inside of you is if you’re speaking in tongues. Read mark 16:16-17, it says that the one who believes in Jesus, they must be able to speak in tongues. What Paul said in 1 Corinthians was speaking in other languages which is a gift from God. If you read acts, when the Holy Spirit entered the apostles they spoke in tongues. Don’t be deceived my friend.

I spoke in tongues many, many years ago while I was still a child. I was approximately 12 years old. We were on a church camp with thousands other people from other towns. It were Easter. I went into the praying tent, the tent were full of people, each praying out loud. I only started praying when something happened to me - I started praying in tongues! I can't describe it. My friend were also praying. I grew up ... and life happened. I sinned. I asked God to forgive me. There were long times I didn't attend any church services. Is that seal still on me pastor Derek Prince?
That seal is in your but dormant, you just need genuire repentance and God will restore you.

This is a comforting message. I've seen a lot lately about speaking in toungs needing to be interpreted and almost had doubts about my encounter with the holy ghost. I know that is the devil trying to discredit my faith.
I don't think that a person who speaks in tongues must have the gift of interpretation. But what the bible says is that he/she should not use the gift of tongues in church if there is no one to interpret. It can be used at home while praying alone. Please correct me if I am wrong.
@@kajananselvarajah2723 I agree with you on most of what you said. If the holy spirit moves you to speak in tongues for prayer you shouldn't deny him even in church but I do believe if you are speaking to a crowd or in any authoritative role there definitely should be an interpretation.

Three times the injunction, The just shall walk by faith is cited in the New Testament which makes it certain and of supreme importance. The Charismata died with the Apostles. Now after nearly 2000 years of no Charismata it is suddenly claimed today. But as indicated the charismata undermines faith, being the opposite, residing in signs and manifestations, not at all needed now we have God's word complete and established. And by this are we to hear and walk. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

For me, half of my life is filled by the word of God and other half by the Holy Spirit. Some exalt the word above the spiritual experiences. Some do it the other way. I don't agree with both. I have my own experiences where the Holy Spirit spoke to me and guided me in certain ways (which are not contradicting the scripture) and every time I obeyed, it turned out to be a miracle. God speaks to me not only through His word, but directly as well. Just because you are not experiencing it doesn't mean it is not there, my brother. Just to give you a small idea of my background; I was a Hindu. The Lord opened my eyes (through a verse in the bible and impressions that has got nothing to do with bible, and my circumstances played their part as well) 2 and a half years back. Then He spoke to me through a sermon and asked me to go back to my war torn hometown. He gave me a vision. I was a freemason and had many goals connected to business. I left everything behind and went to my hometown (all glory to God only). Here He has been talking to me and guiding me to achieve my vision. I am the only Christian in this area. What I manage to earn here is only about one fifth of the amount needed to meet my basic needs. But the Lord always meets my needs in miraculous ways. I don't ask anyone for help. If I am in need of something I go to Him. He has never failed to meet any of my needs. I am obedient to Him. I stand as a Christian in this Hindu community in the midst of many verbal persecutions. I am able to live like this only because of Jesus. Our church is a small church that has about 70 beleivers. We are obedient to God’s word and also want to be filled with the Spirit. If anyone is lacking either, they can't lead a life Jesus expects them to do. I listen to Paul Washer. Even he has shared an experience of his where God had guided him by impressing something in his mind. He says that we should be filled with the Spirit that our lives should be supernatural.
You may deny it. But you can't deny my experiences. God expects 2 things from me. To walk in obedience to Him and His word and be humble. I am not saying that you are wrong to follow the word of God. How can I? It is the word of God. It is my authority in everything. But what I am saying is this. You are missing out the opportunity to experience Him. There is nothing else like this in this world. No amount of money or pleasure can beat it. I will be praying for you. God will reveal the truth. God bless you abundantly

@@timothyweakly2496 I really like Derek Prince, but this video clip (perhaps entire sermon clarifies, I didn’t watch the entire sermon yet) implies one might not be saved without showing the proof (speaking in tongues) of having the Spirit. This troubled me to hear so I immediately went to scripture, which is my authority, and 1 Corinthians 12:30 shows we do not all have this gift and that’s ok. We know we are saved through faith proved by a repentant heart, and we should be seeking to deploy the respective gifts each of us has been given to the glory of God. Use the 10 virgins for example as an illustration of what I am talking about. 5 wise 5 foolish all were virgins though born again pure undefiled. Yet 5 had oil and 5 did not. To me and again just to me and this is my own confusion not to sway anyone left or right it seems both have valid points. What I have noticed in my own circle of life is those who believe they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit usually alongside water baptism have no visible signs or evidence that they have it meaning the gifts of the Spirit. They claim they have never spoken in other tongues by the spirit healed prophecy interpretation of tongues, And whatever other gift the Spirit may give. Again I am the one who's confused not God but what I do see is those who do not believe in what princes saying in their circles there usually isn't anything taking place. When Paul spoke to that church at least from their viewpoint they had all kinds of spiritual gifts operating in that church? Such proof would be valid if it was taking place. Let's say someone comes to an assembly and someone is speaking in tongues if their initial sign was the interpretation of that tongue I have yet to see it. Or healing or any other gift is my point. Nevertheless I have also seen and again I must reiterate I am the one who is confused may all glory be to God and confusion to me, That those who believe in the initial sign of speaking in tongues usually only have that gift and haven't as Paul stated, to further along to require more gifts as we ought to pray for like the better gift of prophecy. It is all by the same spirit but I see no raising of dead, hardly know healings there's much not going on anymore there's much not special miracles like they did with Peter in the shadow of healing people happening anymore. Not that just because I have not seen does not mean it is not taking place I believe God is the same yesterday today and for ever in Christ Jesus through his church. But then as you have stated through the word of God which I can not deny Paul clearly says what you have said, do all speaking tongues? then he also said he wished they all spoken tongues like himself but rather they prophesied. I pray the Father helps us with all this through love that in these horrible last days his church could be unified in love in His Spirit can truly operate in his fullness to help a lost world before Christ returns and God's judgement falls upon the Earth. Nevertheless judgement must begin in the house of God and if I am not mistaken when you read revelation out of the 7 churches only one had everything correct and was going to be saved from the trial that would try the entire Earth the rest had something wrong with them to false doctrine to false beliefs to left their 1st love and all kinds of things that were gonna leave them left out. I leave you again with what I started with 5 wise and 5 foolish but yet all 10 were virgins the 5 wise had something the 5 foolish did not. when the door was shut they were left out but they instantly, when the bridegroom came knew what they did not have, they knew instantly what they lacked. It's not about the gifts it's about the Spirit, we don't need tongues we don't need the gifts we need the Holy Spirit. having Him brings everything else the gifts, the fruit, eternal life. I’m not sure how this is thought of today but historically the Anglican Church is the Catholic Church of England. The Catholic Church of Rome cares nothing about Biblical accuracy IMO. Am I wrong?

The Holy Spirit is the seal , speaking in tongues was a sign or a result of receiving God the Holy Spirit in us, I didn’t speak in tongues after being baptised, but when I heard about it , it’s sounded strange but I thought to myself if this is true then I wanted to and prayed to God to give it to me , and use it only when praying , after few years I stopped used it and later on I asked God again if it was of Him and if He would want me to pray in tongues, after few weeks from asking God and forgetting all about it ,in my prayer time out of the blue praying in tongues started flowing out my mouth I believe God has answered my question and since then I had no doubt anymore.

This is spot on, I don't understand how anyone who calls on the name of Jesus can argue against this.

We know in parts. Derek was still humble with his position. Power is the seal or evidence, not tongues. I know believers who moved mightily in the power of God and many more who had other clear demonstrations of the grace of God, even prophesying, without even speaking in tongues. Are we saying many of those who moved in God's power in centuries before Azusa or Welsh revival? Arnold Fructenbaum best explained the consistent expression of tongues in the 4 examples we have in Acts. He was wrong with this but I respect him deeply because he is careful with the scriptures.

I felt the spirit come over me a few days ago I couldn't stop or contain the joy that overcame me but how do I know if it really happened
I grew up in a Pentecostal church. I listen to many different teaching on the Holy Spirit. No one can accept Jesus Christ if the Holy Spirit doesn’t move his heart. When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord we receive the seal of the Holy Spirit. So every believer has the seal of ownership by the blood of Christ. The Baptist of the Holy Spirit in speaking in tongues in Act 2 is different from the seal of ownership. The Anointing of the Spirit will be pour out on the believers for a calling to his services. You will know you have the Baptist for you will speak in tongues and feel his power. The anointing will take your tongue and speak the spirit language on its own. Then God we give you a gift of the Spirit for his services. The gift is not to think we are more righteous but that God grace is merciful to the gentile for his love. Yes, you have the seal of the Holy Spirit but the Baptist is different then the seal.
Not by listening to man, that's for sure.
There are various tests. Scripture will determine.
If it is from external stimulation then you can know it is but emotionalism. Consider too that the Scriptures show that joy comes in adversity and suffering according to the Lord's will.
If is is from God then you will not produce it. So many just turn it on thus showing it is not from God.
You have to prove all things.

When the holy ghost first came it filled everyone in the upper room and they knew it because everyone in the room spoke in tongues. The holy ghost didn't pick and chose who to gift tongues, interpretation of tongues etc. Tongues are the initial evidence one you received the holy ghost everything else you've stated is a gift that comes with the spirit whether it be healing of the sick, interpretation of tongues, word of knowledge and so on.

Not at all. This is a part of Derek's teaching that I do not agree with because Paul mentions very clearly not all of us have the same gift. Others will speak in tongues others won't... It doesn't mean you're not saved if you don't speak in tongues! I don't speak in tongues myself and I'm saved.
This is not about salvation--if you do what it says it Romans 10:9-10, repent of your sins abd believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, then you will be saved.
This is about receiving the power to be witnesses for Christ, as explained in the early chapters of the book of Acts. Also see Acts 19:1-6 for more about salvation and baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Here’s my thought, I know of a guy who was a Pentecostal who prayed & prayed & then spoke in tongues. But then later identified as a an atheist. He still believes that their is something magical or mystical that runs through the world that causes this kind of spiritual stuff to happen because his spiritual experience was powerful, but he is no longer a Christian but once identified that way. So I don’t know if it truly could be the seal.
I think if it was so important the Old Testament would mention it much more along with its other foreshadowings to Christ. I’m also a bit confused. I also wonder if perhaps tongues was a sign to the Jewish people as a reference back to the Tower of Babel. God was very thoughtful & constantly referencing back to the Old Testament. Now instead of peoples being separated, people were now unified & speaking out in languages so all could understand the glory of God’s Gospel. Christ unified Jew & Gentile. God is so poetic. And the apostles would have realized this connection. I had watched another sermon of his where Prince said the baptism of the Holy Spirit was the cross, & total repentance. So this is a little confusing to me.

Receiving the Holy Spirit in being born again and being baptized in the Holy Spirit aka being filled with power from the Holy Spirit are 2 different events.
See John 20:22 and then Pentecost in Acts. 2 different processes involving the same group of believers.

I am a child of God who walks around full of joy and praising Him, but never spoke in tongues. I wish I could. I am never alone and have to steal away time just to be in the scriptures as much as I can every day, maybe this is why. I think I just don’t know how to or when to.
You can’t force to speak tongues it is a gift that is given to you! If you desire to speak in tongues you just believe repent and pray and Desire every day and pray that you may be baptized in the Holy Spirit! Don’t give up people pray for years sometimes

Overspannen of burn out en heel erg onrustig.
Ik voelde toen een trilling door mijn lichaam gaan van mijn hoofd tot mijn tenen. Direct daarna werd ik heel rustig.
De volgende ochtend was ik opnieuw heel onrustig.
Dit duurde ongeveer een week.
Ik had toen een droom dat ik in een gevangenis leefde.
En een stem zei toen tegen mij dat de duivel uit mij moest.
Ik heb toen gebeden of de duivel uit mij mocht gaan.
Direct daarna voelde ik weer diezelfde trilling van hoofd naar tenen en aan het eind ervan zei een stem : je bent nu vrij! en nu de bijbel gaan lezen.
Ik voelde toen ineens heel veel rust en liefde voor de medemens.
Ik was veranderd van een zondig, egoïstisch mens naar een opnieuw geboren christen met heel veel liefde voor de ander. En ervoer heel veel rust.
Als Jezus je vrij heeft gemaakt ben je vrij van de zonde en vrij van de dood.
Mijn ziekte is achteraf het beste geweest wat mij is overkomen.

Derek Prince is mistaken here. Holy Spirit Himself is the seal of salvation, and anyone who has received forgiveness from sins from God is saved and has the Spirit dwelling in him. Speaking in tongues is just one of the various gifts the Spirit gives to the individual believer to enable him to serve Jesus and the church. (1 Corinthians 12:28-31) During the first Pentecost, speaking in tongues was a means to testimony to the various multi-ethnic peoples gathered in Jerusalem and to kick-start the church.
Also his reasoning is faulted. Why would the seal need to be visible to mortal humans? Where in the Bible it says it must be? God knows who has His seal. The seal is for our salvation, and salvation comes from the Lord who will gather His own to Him. Whether other humans believe we're saved or not is irrelevant for our salvation.
Hebrews 13:8. 1 Corinthians 14:22. 1 Corinthians 14.2
"FOR JEWS DEMAND SIGNS and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified,"

I asked for the holy spirit. I havent spoke in tongue yet but I have overcome the strongest of long term sins..so does that mean I have the holy spirit anyway? I have dreams n visions, is that some of the holy spirit gifts?
The Holy Spirit is recieved as a result of the Holy Spirit baptism. Once a believer prays and God answers their prayer to be filled with the Holy Spirit they must yield/surrender the body's " most unruly member" the tongue to the Holy Spirit until He enables them to speak in the spiritual language called " tongues". Once the Holy Spirit enables them to speak the baptismal overflow occurs and they have been " born of the Spirit" ( John ch.3).
The first part of being "born again" is water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ which is being " "born of the water". Being born of water and Spirit is being baptized in water and Spirit.
We clearly see that the Apostle Paul teaches that a believer receives the Holy Spirit by faith when one "believes" the Gospel message, Eph. 1: 13. This is also confirmed in Eph. 4: 30 where it says the Holy Spirit is the believers "seal" unto the day of redemption.
It is further confirmed in Rom. 8: 16, because the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit.
There is no "sign" for receiving the Holy Spirit because it's a KNOWING, not a feeling. We know in our spirit, we feel in our soul.
If any man be in Christ he is a new creature, 2 Cor. 5: 17.
When we are "in Christ" we have the Holy Spirit abiding in our spirit. This is an act of faith, believing the Gospel, plus nothing.

The moment we believe the Gospel, we are a new creature (2 Cor. 5: 17) "in Christ" and are children of God because of the Holy Spirit's witness (Rom. 8: 16). There are other Scriptures that will confirm this truth, but for now this is sufficient.
We are also called to aet ourselves apart for God's service. In other words, we are also required to "live" the Christian life, (2 Cor. 5: 7), (Eph. 4: 1). There are more verses that describe our walk (works) than those that speak of our position. It's important to know that our walk has no bearing upon our position.
Paul said we are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, (Phil. 2: 12). This salvation points to our sanctifcation. It is something that we "should" do, not that we will do, (Eph. 2: 10). Works are not automatic.
We enter heaven by "faith in Christ" (no works). We enter the kingdom of heaven by "faithfulness to Christ" (works).
Works are either earned or lost. Salvation is not.

Maybe every time Derek Prince saw someone baptized in the Holy Ghost he saw tongues.
Though speaking in tongues is definitely a sign of someone receiving the Holy Spirit (as we see in Acts), does it happen every time? I don’t think the Bible says specifically that. Even if every occasion in the Bible of someone receiving the Holy Spirit was accompanied by tongues (which isn’t necessarily the case: in Acts 8 tongues isn’t mentioned specifically) that doesn’t necessarily mean it has to happen every time. There are other gifts of the Spirit. At this point I can’t say for certain tongues does or doesn’t happen every time someone is baptized in the Holy Ghost. But it might be presumptuous to say it happens every time.
Also, for those who say things like “if you haven’t spoken in tongues you aren’t saved” just because Mark 16 says believers will speak with tongues, by your standard, does that mean if every single believer hasn’t drank something deadly and not died he isn’t saved? I don’t think so.
Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 1 Cor 12:30

And read the great commission in Mark 16, which became the great omission because of a heretic called Martin Luther and his "faith alone" doctrine. Even the demons believe you know. Luther persecuted those who were rebaptized after repentance. We need to read our bibles without these religious glasses the institutionalized churches enforced upon us. So, let's see from Mark, do you cast out demons? Let's see if your faith is real, and that you are a DISCIPLE of Jesus, not a churchgoer Christian. The two things are not compatible.

According to Derek here you cannot have the Holy Spirit if you don’t speak tongues which is just wrong. The Holy Spirit IS the gift. Paul himself says not all speak in tongues. To teach otherwise is either ignorant or lying.
The Bible says that the seal is the Spirit of God indwelling the believer,not neccesary speaking in tongues. The Word also says that not all speak in tongues.
So many people are missing the point of what the man of God is saying. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is speaking with tongues.
If this was a sure sign that they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in the early church. Why speak against it? That's why so many people are still in darkness as it is this day. Because they reject knowledge.

Such error. The Holy Spirit is the seal. Full stop. Not everyone has the same gift, its very clear in 1 Corinthians. The purpose of Acts 10 was to show that all are equal before God. The fruit is more important. Jesus addressed this many times. Preaching the gospel with boldness is also a mark of the Holy Spirit.

You might need to find some Spirit filled Christians who will lay hands on you and tarry with you to receive the Holy Spirit. I was saved for years, but it took a while for me to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit because I was raised in Christian churches that did not believe in it. Took laying on hands and spending some time with me years later from some Christians, for me to get it. As far as I am concerned this was an act of love on their part.

As a youngster I was hauled off to my step gramma's Penticostal church.There I witnessed many a tounge flapping seemungly babbling wigs flying off and something like faunting now how did the person always manage to vet behind the fainter just in time to catch her or him? The language too me was nonsensical. Dosen't mean it wasn't real. But knowing the Penticosts believe you have to speak in tongues as proof of your being saved I kinda doubt all I heard back then were in fact saved. Anyway the bible teaches to some are given different gifts. Gifts are from the giver. As mere humans we cannot expect The Father to give us all a gift of tongues.Also keeping in mind the spot in scripture that sais also a gift can be a translator of tongues for what good is a gift of tongues if no one present can relate what was just said in tongues? When the people I witnessed babbling like that started up one would begin then 2 or 3 others chimed in. It was clearly not my way but seemed put on and quite ridicoulous.Also there was no translation of what was uttered. I did not get anything out of it except a little frightened.

When he mentioned Christmas as an example it made me think of Jeremiah 10:2-5 where it talks about ine cutting a tree from the forest and decking it with silver and gold and it says the customs of the people are vain and to not do as the heathens do. I have a question. If you can’t speak in tongues, have you not received the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is recieved as a direct result of the Holy Spirit baptism. Many believers have felt the Holy Spirits presence and been filled with the Holy Spirit but have never recieved the Holy Spirit as a permanent indwelling presence.
It takes being filled to overflowing for the Spirit to remain in the believer. The Word calls it the " anointing that abideth". The reason so many believers haven't experienced this is because when they pray for the infilling, and God answers their prayer, they won' t surrender their tongue ( the body's most unruly member) to the Holy Spirit so that He can take control of it. When He does this start the baptismal overflow which is testified to him and those praying for him that he has recieved the Holy Spirit just as they did by verbally speaking in tongues and they can stop praying for him. This is the Spirit baptism. What did Jesus say," I and the Father are one, I in him and him in me".

The Lord Jesus Amen to help me understand that the people who are making videos and telling people to make noises and they are demonstrating their actions and interpretation of speaking in tongues and they are deceived to understand that unless you have someone else to interpret them to understand that they are false prophet's own actions. For my own personal relationship with God through prayer and then I am only able to understand what spirit is the best way to communicate with the Lord God Amen for to automatically start talking in tongues or whenever you are deeply in prayer for our families and friends and neighbour's, country, sick people and vulnerable people etc.. I have never been able to demonstrate that I can speak in tongues to prove that the Lord Jesus and his spirit is working in order to make the point that you have been blessed by God Amen. I have been led at certain times and the need for prayer for the Lord Jesus and his spirit to start speaking in tongues of authority over my prayers. I cannot summon the gift if it is not appropriate and not being just to demonstrate the gift of God Amen. Unless their is others who have the gift, and can interpret the language. Many people's who are speaking out loud about being able to speak in tongues and they are just taking like a babies and babbling, so the people's who are sitting in their homes and videos of themselves squawking and encouraging their actions to demonstrate that is the truth of tongues, and to just release sounds and use your tongue and mouth to create gibberish sounds too develop their own personal language and they are deceived by their own actions and their actions are deceiving others. Tongues is a testament of the bible and the Lord Jesus Amen and the holy spirit is a living spirit and the truth is spiritual maturity to receive the holy spirit and gift of tongues to understand through their actions and loyalty and obedience to be blessed by God Amen for note not everyone needs to be able to speak in tongues for different reasons and they have to know that different parts of the body of Christ Amen to have different types of gifts to the Lord Jesus and to explain that they are not going to be given the same if they are only baby Christians and they are only accepting milk and not sold food, and to understand that reading the bible and their daily worshiping God is the only way to progress in their spiritual lives to help people understand that tongues comes into existence when they have a personal relationship between themselves and God. To go through a process of refinement and understanding what humble yourselves before God is the only way to reach the truth and speak to God in his spiritual language.
Some are arguing here that not all receive the gift of tongues, so they say we should disregard the evidence of tongues for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
But there is a difference between the gift of tongues, being able to speak in multiple languages, and the evidence of tongues, or a single heavenly language, just as as there is between the gift of faith in I Cor. 12:9 and the faith by which all believers are saved and believe God's promises.

I believe God has caused people to speak in tongues and prophesy. Also i believe paul layed hands on them and they did. Tongues indeed are a sign. Same as prophesying. But you have not explained how that justifies a belief that i need to speak in tongues or prophesy as a sign showing evidence of my salvation or else it isnt genuine. The new testament clearly teaches that anyone who believes in Jesus is not condemned. Besides that there are many people in scripture who believed in Jesus and were saved but did not speak in tongues. I still believe that tongues are a gift of the holy spirit and he distributes those gifts as he sees fit.

So how do we know we have the spirit? By the fruit of the spirit.
Can a believer be baptized in the HS and sealed and not speak in tongues? In John 20:22 is the believer sealed and then in Acts is he baptized with power? This is confusing to me.
I believe you can be saved without speaking in tongues. The 1 John lists the attributes of a saved person, and he says he written the epistle so we can know we are saved. He never mentions speaking in tongues as a requirement.
Slow Hand. The Holy Spirit can work for a believer and through one but to have the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit one MUST have the Holy Spirit baptism and the biblical evidence that a believer has recieved that baptism is speaking in tongues, which is one spiritual language.
All of Pauls' letters are written to churches full of believers that have already been born again according to John ch. 3 and Acts 2:38.
Paul taught what the other apostles taught in Acts 2:38.
In Acts ch.19 baptized certain disciples in the name of Jesus Christ. He then layed hands on them for them to recieved the Holy Spirit. He stopped praying for them when they started speaking in " tongues".

Derek prince is correct. The only way to know that the Holy Spirit truly lives inside of you is if you’re speaking in tongues. Read mark 16:16-17, it says that the one who believes in Jesus, they must be able to speak in tongues. What Paul said in 1 Corinthians was speaking in other languages which is a gift from God. If you read acts, when the Holy Spirit entered the apostles they spoke in tongues. Don’t be deceived my friend.

The Apostles had already repented, so all that was left was for then to be spiritually baptised, baptised into identification with Jesus and his righteousness. Jesus was baptised into the will of the Father, which was to fulfil all righteousness.

I don't speak in tongues and God has used me before I've had dreams of the rapture many times. The Holy spirit has revealed some incredible truths of the Gospel to me. And not even once have I ever spoke in tongues. Because scripture clearly says not all of us can speak in tongues and quite Frankly I'm not moved to speak in tongues and yet I'm still assured that I'm saved. Because I'm justified through Faith in Jesus Christ alone. I think what shows that a person is born again or saved is the fruit or the fruits they produce. The Bible says. By their fruits ye shall know them. The gospel is clear on that.

Tongues are LANGUAGES. Anyone claiming to speak in a spiritual tongue has to able to be tested, TO prove the authenticity. Read what GOD did on the day of Pentecost.

God is the ONLY ONE that translates His Word into any particular language as HE chooses. That is why He has only provided ONE book of His Word to us in this modern day. It is an authorized, all authority, all truth King James Version book of God's Word because they are His words. He translated His Word and used Holy men who SPAKE and the words were written down. Anyone speaking in a spiritual tongue must only speak in a spiritual tongue in the presence of other believers if there are TWO or more believers able to discern the words and confirm the authenticity. Otherwise, you cannot use unknown tongues as proof of salvation or the Holy Spirit. Because ANYONE can make up gobble-dee-gook.

What did the apostles quote from? Is it not scripture? If they did not have the king james version, but rather the greek and hebrew texts, and they quoted scripture, then how is it that you believe the king james is the only book that contains the word of God? Are you implying that for 1500 years the scriptures were lost? The king james translators did not have access to the many of the manuscripts that we have access to today. Besides that what about people who do not speak english? Are their versions invalid as well? Dont you think its more reasonable to go with the earliest texts you can get hands on and to be fair to the manuscript tradition. If a bible says one thing and its not found in the majority of the early texts, why would it be missing from the earliest sources?

My native tongue is English, and after being deceived in a cult for 50 years, God took me out, and He showed me what book I MUST use, if I expect to be able to easily understand God's Word. It is a faith issue. You cannot use two books. You cannot use ten. You can only use one book. If one book is perfect and pure, a second book cannot be.
If your native tongue is English, the only book you can use is an authorized King James Version. You cannot use a New King James Version.
God says His Word is perfect and pure. So if you accept more than one book, you are either calling Him a liar, or you don't know what word to rely on. Jesus has a particular voice. A particular tone. God says man lives by every WORD that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. The ESV is missing 33,00 words, 17 complete verses from the New Testament alone. Use His Word. An authorized King James Version book of His Word are His words.If you want it to be perfect and pure for capitalization and punctuation as well as the text, then an authorized Cambridge Edition of the King James is for you.
I just use a standard $2 public domain authorized King James Version as God has shown me it is sufficient for doctrine, for reproof, for correction.
When you use His Word, things change. You can now be taught the truth by the Holy Spirit with ease.
This ís the one and only message I have heard from Brother Prince I don't think I agree with. First off I know there are many many people saved including myself that have not spoken in tongues. Secondly I truly believe there are many people who are claiming to speak in tongues who are literally just babling and truthfully many of them may believe themselves they are speaking in tongúes. Lastly the Bible says not all will speak in tongues some will be translators and so so many other gifts that are just that gifts and most are unique to few. Everyone's gifts are different from the next believer. This message actually disappointed me a bit I'm very sad to say!
@orangeclawhammer777 whoa whoa whoa that's completely different than what I said I blatantly said that the gift fully fully exist there is no question about it the Bible speaks of it repeatedly but that is not the only gift of the Bible and that gift is not the only way to determine whether you truly are fully holy spirit filled. I'd like to know how you could with a straight face go back and read my comment and feel as if I was saying that that gift does not exist because it's right there in the text I said it does exist but many with the Holy Spirit do not have it. They and we however do have other gifts that the Bible speaks of that do confirm that you are in fact holy spirit filled not to mention the true definition of being saved which if speaking and tongues was the way to determine it I'm pretty sure the Bible would intensely reiterate that fact! As a brother or sister in Christ I don't come out of anger I come at you with love but you did misinterpret what I said and I'm correcting you out of love not out of anger.
Also I could say that I am very capable of babbling and I'm not saying that all people that speak in tongues are babbling there are many that are truly speaking in tongues but I do believe there are people that may think they are speaking in tongues and are in fact just babbling. I could do the same thing if I wanted and I wanted to be disingenuous so I want to reiterate the fact that I would never discount somebody who is speaking in tongues because I am not The interpreter so any which one of them very well could be truly speaking in tongues I'm not the critic I'm just stating the obvious. 1 Corinthians 12:30 Is couched differently in different versions, some pose the issue of various gifts as a rhetorical question "Do all speak with tongues?" while others make a claim, "All don’t speak in different tongues, do they?". It is not clear to anyone not reading the source text in original language, which is the most accurate rendering. I don't know of any account from scripture where baptism of the Spirit is not accompanied by tongues, yet some scripture seems to indicate "tongues" is not given to all those who receiver the Holy Spirit. This apparent contradiction begs reconciling. There is still the question of what exactly is meant by "Tongues" In English, there appears to be 2 entirely different things rendered into the same word "Tongues" We don't have a lot of information from scripture and we do not have a continuous unbroken tradition (experience) of either upon which to form a out understanding. We have the Acts example where people hears their own "human" languages spoken by men who had not learned it. This is often used to say they "Tongues" has to be a real known language and anything else is rejected as babble (not a language). However,
nonsensical delusion (false gifting). I think that is a really discouraging and harmful act and not even scripturally supportable. People doing that seem very selective in their choice scripture that they accept.
So, where do I stand on this? Well, I'm a limited human being who doesn't know everything but God knows. Therefore I'll just look to my own walk of faith and let others do likewise.
He mentions a seal ... that brings confusion ... no mention of seal in scripture referring to a baptism of the Holy Spirit. Be careful I would read Luke 24 and Acts 2 and Acts 18-19 ...
