@Gabriel Duprey: Basically you'd need an audio interface and a microphone, a recording software (I use Logic Pro on my Mac) and a smartphone-camera. I sync the audio and video with iMovie.
I want to know who is writing these amazing horn parts. Matthias, brother, you can straight jam. I've had the blessing to play with Maynard and Faddis and hear Arturo live. You could play in any one of those bands as lead. Roger Ingram definitely comes to mind when I listen to your videos. Cheers! Keep posting!
Hey matthias. 1st off. forget the gear, software, interface, etc....whoever asked that question TOTALLY missed the point! man this about your playing dude...Totally BURNING!!! Reminded me so much of The Seawind Horns, Tower of Power Horns and the Phoenix Horns...Poppin, short notes!!! Thats what pop horn sections are totally about...It isn't big band. It's a totally different mind-set and concept that jazzers NEVER GET! And from memory!!! GREAT JOB! Unfortunately there are very few acts that use live horns anymore (bruno is the exception). Only the Latin bands use live horns close to this vibe.
+michael carlotto I get where you're coming from, Michael, but most of your points are much less true these days. All the best players can "bag" most any groove, including the ultratight Jerry Hey stuff. Modern big bands contain most of these elements already. I can guarantee you 99% of the grads from places like NTSU would feel right at home in nearly any situation, and many are great "jazzers", as well. If you really think only Latin bands are the only ones, you should definitely check out 2 awesome regional bands right off the top of my head....Santa Fe & The Fat City Horns, and Tim Akers & The Smoking Section. RUclips will produce results on both of those that I guarantee you'll appreciate. TA & TSS really smoke Taylor Swift on a cover of her, "Shake it Off". The one thing that still hasn't evolved enough in most cases, is when the hard core orchestral players try to swing, especially the string sections....yikes....
Great playing! I want to learn how to make videos like this (audio, video and the original tracks) what programs/equipment would i need? Can you help me with these? I don't know much about this stuff
Matthias- Wonderful job! Have you put out the trumpet score in a pdf? What mouth piece are you using. I'm playing on a Flip Oaks "Wild Thing" with a Denis Wick 4X.
Thank you! I just transcribed a few things for me on paper, so unfortunately I don't have anything digital. I use a Hub van Laar B4 trumpet with a GR Wayne Bergeron Studio.
Sounds excellent, Matthias, although I think the intro should be less legato and a little bouncier. As others have mentioned, you have great ease of playing and STRONG chops.
Matthias Bistan Of, course :) But Ive got the impression that the SN-2 would show the "b-trumpet-notes". Never mind, it´s a nice little friend on the bell.
Matthias super gemacht sind sie Deutsch. I know Jerry very well and played with him. these are great lines and traditional in his style. please send me your email! vielen danke Scott deOgburn

Awww Man! What happened to the octave higher on the last note??!!!! haha
Where did you find the sheet music for this?
I transcribed it
Matthias Bistan, you transcribed it? Yikes! Props! On BOTH!
Sounds excellent, Matthias, although I think the intro should be less legato and a little bouncier. As others have mentioned, you have great ease of playing and STRONG chops.

Nice job. You look like you are working less hard than Wayne Bergeron!
Sagenhaft !!
I really mis the video clip. Why did you erase it.
Sheet music?
Do you also know the chords for this song? in that case it would be great help if you could send them to me! Thanks beforehand
Where did you find the music to play this?
By ear
You should write a trumpet part :)
A question: My SN-2 doesn't show the right note, hmm... When I´m playing a "C" on the trumpet the Snark SN-2 shows an "A". Ideas to get it right?
Maybe it shows an A# what would be a B flat because of the B flat Trumpet...
Matthias Bistan Of, course :) But Ive got the impression that the SN-2 would show the "b-trumpet-notes". Never mind, it´s a nice little friend on the bell.
That was amazing! But what about the last note lol
Working hard! Lol
Matthias
super gemacht
