Steam is Always Invisible

  • If you think you see steam somewhere what you are likely seeing is tiny drops of liquid water scattered in the air. Steam does not interact with visible light and many science resources erroneously present these droplets as a gas and as steam. Here steam is heated so that it will not cool down fast enough to form the droplets to show the "cloud" disappearing. The steam is still present as evidenced by the awesome displays of science.
