The scene where Dany finally sees / touches the Iron Throne was beautiful as hell. The scoring was phenomenal.
Jon and dany kiss background
Yeah man.. unexplainable.. maybe its the feeling when you die and the soul is leaving the body
That entire throne room scene was made soooo much better by Ramin. In a day and age where so many composers seem to what I call "out Inception" each other with loud gongs, this was all so delicate and subtle. The single choral voice here makes the entire scene even more heart breaking for her and really called back to Thanos's scene with Gamora. Did she win? Yes. What did it cost her? Everything. She may have had a barbarian horde and trained killers outside but she had lost and/or killed everyone important in her life to touch that throne.
Then add in the cue of the throne burning that had the haunting single violin play their love theme and then the main theme blasting only to then end it with her Targaryen theme play one last time. Forget Emmy, this should be Oscar level stuff if it would be possible.
I know bro, I felt like bending the knee to her there and then.
Its what she deserved since a long ago, since her love begin with khal drogo and dotrakhi, across the seas with slaves, lost her children, her best fiend. In the end she die in front of the throne she wants...
3:57
“All Daenerys wanted back was the big house with the red door, the lemon tree outside her window, the childhood she had never known.”
If George ever releases "Winds of Winter", this should be the end of her chapter.
That's what I get from that note, too. 'It's alright, Dany. You're home. You can rest now.'
@@jaguarking2892 More like 'A Dream of Spring'.
@@Nicholas_Chen_ I was shit that night, so this flew out of my mind.
"But it was not the plains Dany saw then. It was King's Landing and the great Red Keep that Aegon the Conqueror had built. It was Dragonstone where she had been born. In her mind's eye they *burned* with a thousand lights, a fire blazing in every window. In her mind's eye, all the *doors* were *red* ."
"A Game of Thrones", Daenerys III
2:21 old theme from Daenerys Season 1 "Fire and Blood", chills and tears
The same chord was used in "Love in the Eyes". So hauntingly beautiful.
All this clip is Dany's theme + main theme. Ramin changed them so well that you don't notice. He is really good at changing the same song so that it conveys different emotions. Up until the woman starts singing it is all her theme.
That's the music that plays before Rhaego was conceived. It is a warning that her vision from the house of the undying will be carried out, in full. She shall see her Drogo once more.
Would request this played at my funeral
3:57 That is called telling a story with music. Djawadi is a master of his craft and has a great understanding of human emotion and how to represent them with tones
Exactly. It’s so deep & fits the scene perfectly, I think. And that part when she touches the throne is not pompous, which kind of predicts that Dany will never actually rule the 7 kingdoms. So genius.
UNLIKE 2 PARTICULAR INDIVIDUAL WRITERS....
@Deepak Singh westeros was her kingdom, it was the kingdom of her family for hundreds of years; why shouldnt she feel entitled to it?
there is so much daenerys in this album...almost every song has pieces of daenerys's songs in them...is almost like a lover letter to her. After all, she was Ramin's favorite character.
Really? How do we know?
@@1irun1iscanthere2 www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/game-thrones-composer-ramin-djawadi-437085, also this video: ruclips.net/video/U7-SCo-LFEw/видео.html at 01:28, you know if you google "ramin djawadi favorite GOT character" the first result is DAENERYS TARGARYEN...i mean it wasn't that hard to find out, was it? you could just google it.
i think shes the main character after all. she follows the journey of the hero and sucumbs tragically in the end. her arc is the most clasic one in literature
she def stole the last season. lets see if it is any different in the books, but i think she was always meant to go down the dark path
V V yeah, i don’t buy that, GRRM could come out and say this was her ending and i still don’t buy it. From hero to villain there must be coherence. This writers didn’t even give their own villains like the night king or cersei a proper ending, i’ll never believe that it was always gonna be this way.
This feels like all of her ancestors are looking upon her from above, half of them are proud and the other half are not.
Visenya, Rhaena, Rhaenyra and Maekar would have been proud.
Night Shade yeap, and alysanne, jaehaerys, naerys etc would be ashamed
@@hasan-mo6el I just realised your username is named after Rhaenyra's dragon.
Night Shade yeah syrax is my fav dragon. she avenged her slain cousins at the dragonpit
Those vocals are chilling
The absolute solitude of absolute power.
Beautiful and frightening at the same time.
That bit of music starting at 2:20 is Dany's theme that we have all known to associate with her greatness and her liberation of the people. But this was a different rendition, cold and hauntingly beautiful. Sends chills down the spine. Ramin has been absolutely brilliant doing justice to Dany's legacy.
The vocals that follow remind me of Lily's theme from HP Deathly Hallows.
I got major chills hearing it. I always loved Dany and her themes. This tune was also used in "Love in the Eyes" and "Fire and Blood".
Wow totally never noticed that
It is her theme from the beggining of the track, at first it starts very dark and slow, at 2:20 is her theme like we first geard it in season 1
It's not a shame to cry on this one - such beautiful masterpiece, representing all the struggle Daenerys had , just to come and touch the Iron Throne. The throne that cost her anything, including her definition of right and wrong. Nevertheless i think that scene was one of the best in the series - no dialoge , nothing. Love it , it was a beautiful moment for a character that they've burried in just two episodes.
that piece was not played during her death but it was during her Nazi speech, i'm going to be pissed off badly if George RR martin will adopt the same ending.
@@CaptainSnackbar start at 2:20 ...it's Daenerys walking and touching the throne.
@@pocahonthas76 yes i know they split this soundtrack between the 2 scenes
@@CaptainSnackbarGRRM will not write such a horrid ending for Daenerys, you can have faith in that, this one was all D&D'S machinations. Though if Daenerys does die, or even become tyrannical believing she's doing the right thing, George will develop it rightly
This show and its soundtrack will haunt me for the rest of my days. #andnowourwatchisended
Mr J This and Harry Potter have astounding OSTs.
@@CommanderOfRussia1 Don't forget The Lord of the Rings!
If 3:57 doesn't give you chills then you have no soul. Masterpiece.
@xellossaxon you're so original.
Nosphor she’s worked so hard for this, and now she’s here. she got what she wanted....well, almost
Despite how tragic everything was, Daenerys at least got to be where she always wanted to be, she died fulfilling her destiny, yes, it was really short-lived, but, she made it, not everyone has that chance.
P.s: Ramin mashed up bits of many of Daenerys's most iconic scores in this, it was kind of his way of paying homage to her whole journey, that's beautiful as heck.
Yep, say what you want from the day she gave birth to those baby nuclear weapons, she stated her one objective and achieved it even if it took 9-10 years. And many obstacles in the way. Despite tragic losses, she still persevered. Reminds me of Stannis Baratheon. I’ll miss her and those dragons
Chaos is a ladder. Danny made the climb but she slipped back down into the depths never to climb again.
robosoldier11 for love
But she didn't though. The wheel ultimately wasn't broken. Because Jon believed the price was too high. And that it would effect his family, who technically profit off the system westeros has. The wheel wasn't broken. Just refashioned.
@Not Alfie actually
I came for 2:44
Beautiful
Sarah Starmer same here🙌🏼
Sarah Starmer try it with 0,75 speed 🥺
I need a 2 hour loop of just the end of this song. So beautiful and haunting and sad.
Sounds like a beautiful moment in a barren wasteland.
Same I’ve been trying to find it all day lol thought it would be in ‘the iron throne’
" I am Daenerys Stormborn of the blood of Old Valyria, and I will take what is mine. With fire and blood, I will take it. "
This was the most beautiful, most powerful scene in the show's entire run. So tragic.
Oh damn... This distorted version of dany's theme though... I love how Ramin tells the story and the characters through music and choice of instruments alone. Truly one of the best composers of out time
The smile Daenerys showed when she finally touched the Iron Throne was so heartbreaking when you know she's gonna get stabbed before she sits on it after years of hard work. 💔😭
And most heartbreaking thing is: she trusted him.
@@ahmetbyram the most heartbreaking thing was Dany going mad and becoming a dictator. She was no better than Cersei at that point.
Dany: "I will take what is rightfully mine"
3:57 expresses those words so vividly without any words its remarkable. Short lives yes, but mission accomplished and i truly felt it
In the end, it was the broken who became strong in order to inherit the World. Yet the character who was the most broken, had became too strong and too uncontrollable and had to die... And that is what broke everyone's heart.
Beautifully said.
2:22 this delicate sound is from season 1, it played everytime Daenerys looked at the dragon eggs.
The scene with which this song ends was pure cinematic poetry. Seeing her finally having her beloved iron throne within a devastated city devoid of life (symbolized by the snow settling on it) and having this track on top of it...probably among my top scenes of the series, without any dialogue spoken. Wow. This song nailed it.
I don't think that is snow. It is the ashes of the city and the thousands of its people she incinerated to get to the throne.
I think it's snow, because drogon had a lot on him and that couldn't have been ashes, it was too white and too much
@@elisabetaluca7369 well she did incinerate just about every person in the entire city. That is a lot of ash.
@@lesigh1749 yeah, but it couldn't keep falling for so long. I guess
@@elisabetaluca7369 Yes it could, like a volcano
That ending part of the song gives me chills!
This may be my favourite track from the entire series. It brings together so many of Dany's themes into one track while also displaying so much raw emotion and sounding unique. Love it!!!
Not gonna lie, the last minute of this track might be the finest thing Ramin Djawadi's ever produced, and that is saying a LOT, how can ominous tension and soul-destroying tragedy co-exist so perfectly in one track?
Did you ever hear the Tragedy of Queen Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, the rightful Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, Queen of Dragonstone, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons?
That's a mouthful
It's not a story the Lannisters would tell you.
its a story bran and sam will tell you
Danerays was a princess, exiled member of the most powerful dynasty in all of the realms.
Is it possible to learn this power?
Not from a maester.
Aegon the conqueror: did you claim the throne?
Daenerys: Yes
Aegon the conqueror: What did it cost?
Daenerys: everything
Woah...damn, that's sad
Wooooow 💔
*killed by Aegon*
Wow...deep
When did this conversation happened? It's in the books? I can't remember
That moment when Dany touched the throne gave me chills n tears.....
I just realized the cover picture of the Season 8 soundtrack is a blend of the Iron Throne and Drogon. That's some heavy irony.

This makes me cry really painfully
here after HOTD teaser 🐉🔥
truly amazing. it's unbelieavle how great ramin tells stories through music. i can visualize john walking up the stairs, dany walking up to give her speech, the dothraki cheering, unsullied listening, jon spectating with unease, tyrion dissapointed. this score is amazing, dany touching the throne, i mean EVERYTHING
I wish Jon came in a minute later, then Dany perhaps would have finished admiring the throne and got to sit on it.
There's a principle behind her not sitting on it.
oh my god, your username
Do you know how much it meant for me to see her in the throne room?
Where were the 4 Unsullied bodyguards that followed her into the castle?
that glass instrument around 2:25 immediately caught my attention while watching the episode, so chillingly beautiful
xlivia.o same here, it’s been used before as well in season 1 when she’s given the dragon eggs. Such a hauntingly beautiful sound, makes me feel so nostalgic now 😭
This tune was also used in "Love in the Eyes" and "Fire and Blood". Very mysterious sound.
2.33 onwards especially when Danny touches the throne, the music is so beautifully haunting. Like at that particular point in music is when she has sealed her own fate unbeknown to herself. My heart broke for Drogon
Dark against a lead-grey sky, it beckons.
The thousand blades of Aegon's enemies,

It warps the mind, the world, everything you thought

Come and climb my steps
Come and sit high above the mortal world
Come and let me show you
What power is worth, when all the rest has gone.
The hall of the undying... season 2.. Prophecy fulfilled. Beautiful soundtrack. Love this series! I don't care if other people disliked something. I found it highly symbolic.
Parts of it are the usual targaryen theme but it's like even the instruments can't play it right, it represents Dany losing her sense of self and the price she had to pay to get there, her children her loved ones and her morality
The Queen we deserved.
I didn't realize for a while that in the beggining of this they played Dany's theme with her dragons, but they made it really really dark. It is amazing how Ramin can make 1 theme convey every possible emotion.
When she walked into the throne room and 2:44 played, all I could think of was all of the characters who died during the course of the show.
One of the greatest moments on the show.....ever. When Dany walks up to the iron throne with this music playing and touches the throne.........goosebumps forever more.

For me it was less the writing and more the pacing. I think because it was rushed they had to cut corners in terms of how A got to B, but beyond that, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I would say for the most part what they had in terms of writing could have been solid had they flushed it out more there was definitely a feeling of we just want this over with give them spectacles and who’s going to notice
Yup. The writters did not deserve this level of effort put for such a shitty script.
Writing and dialogues
this is truly a masterpiece its a way for ramin djawadi to say farewell #andnowourwatchhasended
Ironic how the worst episode of the show got the most beautiful soundtrack....
If only this moment was well written,if this was fleshed out with more seasons and episodes and then this scene arrives...our minds couldn't have handled that much awesomeness

It’s like the beginning of pains and sorrows after she touches it
What a imagination
There's a universe where we get another 3-4 seasons of good story telling with an emotional love affair style battle between john and dany and not some exceptionally anti-climactic stab in the back
There are a few alternate rewrites available....I read a few and they are great
You mean like where we take our time with Danarya being a tyrannical ruler for a season or two and now we have to take down our beloved character? That universe?

Come to think of it, almost everyone except Dany had almost happy endings.
Dany's end was downright tragic.
Do you really think Jon 's end is happy ?
Even Cersei died with her brother/lover. Dany died alone, knowing for a few seconds at least that the man she loved, the only person left had betrayed her. Doesn't get more tragic than that...
