Dang this took forever. It’s about frickin time I did another gravity falls animatic. Btw this isn’t the animatic I mentioned in my other vid, I tried working on it, but I think I may need to pin down the visuals more. It’s hard with songs that aren’t as much of a linear story. Oh well. Enjoy this for now. And let me know if you want me to do more songs from this masterpiece of a soundtrack. I don’t really care for the musical as a whole cause it has some icky, inappro-pro stuff in it, but most of the individual songs are awesome.

Perfectly encompassing how legit *threatening* Ford actually is. This dude came through the portal and held all the cards, and the power to completely topple the lives of everyone around him, and he didn’t even know it. Ford held Stan’s entire life in his hands because of the sacrifices Stan had to make to fix that portal, and he could’ve been as petty and cruel as he wanted to be with that. He put a wedge between a perfectly good sibling relationship because he decided that this 12 year old boy he knew for less than a month, with his own life and mannerisms, was going to be exactly like him. Ford has the power of an adult, the pettiness of a teenager, and the emotional iq of a potato, and he really did make that everyone’s problem.

There’s something emotionally powerful about how Ford unintentionally tried to ruin the relationship between two happy, close twins, just like what his parents did to his relationship with Stan.

gosh I love this so much. I always felt like ford’s power over the other characters (and how scary that was for all of them) wasn’t stated often in the show and this animatic does a REALLY good job of showing how much influence he truly held.
When Stan is genuinely scared of his own brother
I mean the guy inflicted some serious emotional trauma on him. Repeatedly. It makes sense he’d be on guard around him. One can only take so much.

Just gonna say, I LOVE Dipper in your style!! I love the parts with him in this, because it really shows his passion for Ford. I also love the part with Stan at the beginning, showing his trauma with Ford. Poor bean :
Ok I am incredibly late to the show on this one but at 2:18 the lines “not a chance if SHE suspected//he was any kind of survival threat//but she doesn’t know it yet” are a reference to dipper’s growing bond with ford causing issues with him and Mabel’s relationship and her worries about him leaving her and I love that too much
I really hope that if there is a Gravity Falls reboot, that we get to see scary Ford, because we all KNOW he exists. This animatic proves that

This is really gorgeous omg. As per your description I would love to see what you would put in a world burn (from mean girls) animatic bc that song is such a powerful song and it could be used with the two stans conflict after ford came back from the portal
I’ve actually thought about that for a few different characters. I’ve considered bill (while possessing younger Ford) mad that ford scattered two of the journals and plans to get rid of the third. I’ve also thought of Saha waybright from amphibia post reunion. But I’m not sure

i've watched this SO many times it's genuinely so fucking good?? the way you show the raw emotions stan feels when talking about this, the way ford is nonchalant or even unaware of how high of a pedestal his family holds him to, its all so good. plus your style is so nice to look at? it's like soft really i love it so much and i LOVE your animatics ty for sharing them with the world

Remember, his partner lost his mind, and warned him that he needed to stop, and yet Ford refused to destroy his notebooks, or even just the portal design. He left it intact enough to turn on even after what it did to Fiddleford. He never even checked on Fiddleford when he came back, never tried to help him at any point. Ford continued doing the exact same thing that he'd done before he met Bill, despite the danger to the people he cared about and the entire town. He refused to listen to anyone else, and his family paid for it. If he'd cared more about his friend, he wouldn't have been lost between dimensions and the rift wouldn't have formed. We've never seen Ford prioritze anyone over his own goals. That's what makes Dipper Ford's opposite, because in his relationship with his sister, Mabel is ALWAYS the priority. He hesitated to hand over a SOCK PUPPET in exchange for potentially life-saving information because it was his sisters. When it backfired and put them both at risk, Dipper immediately looked for a way to protect them from Bill. It's not even just for Mable. When Rumble McSkirmish tried to kill Robbie, Dipper put his own safety on the line to save him, despite not liking the guy.

I use script! It has a nice streamline effect and pressure tapering, while still being solid and smooth. 10/10.
