Searching For Sharks & Snorkeling At Bathtub Reef Beach Florida! | Real Florida Adventures!

In today's vlog we head to Bathtub Beach in Stuart, Florida to try to swim with sharks! We take a look at the water from overhead with a drone to try see if we can see where the sharks are. We did catch footage of a shark with the drone but didn't realize it until we got home and reviewed the footage. We also caught some footage of a barracuda and a tarpon! Ding dang! The drone footage turned out pretty awesome though! Then we head into the water to snorkel. We saw lots of fish even though the visibility was pretty low. At the end of the day I was pummeled by some waves and headed straight into the rocks, I got some scrapes and cuts but it was still an awesome day at the beach! I remember doing it a couple times. Very cold water. It was also my first experience swimming in salt water.

Tim you crack me up and scare the heck out of me at the same time! If I were Jen I’d be a nervous wreck. However, I enjoyed the awesome drone views and loved the underwater views of the beautiful salt water fish! Living in Michigan it is just not natural for our fish to be that beautiful. Thanks you your adventurous videos. As much as I love Disney I love different adventures from around Florida.

I live in stuart!! I am bummed we missed you in our home town. Definitely visit again and just take a stop at the Elliott museum and their classic car "vending machine" display along with a walk along the house of refuge rocks which you drove past on the same road as bathtub reef. Also I believe Jackson would love looking at stingrays at the oceanographic center. All locations near bathtub reef Beach.
We went with my dad to that museum and took the kids to see the stingrays when they were little. Very nice

What a wonderful opportunity to experience! Bit braver than me, I wouldn't want to go swimming with sharks nearby. Ouch on the scratches! The rocks won that argument! Got out at a good time before that storm! Love Ceri x
That beach suffers from erosion in every storm. It is called bathtub because when the reef was larger it really created a bathtub like environment on the inside of the reef so it was very popular with families. Now the reef doesn't really offer the same protection.

When you said Stuart I was like "heck yeah i know where that is!" My friend rented a couple of those houses this past January for a family wedding reception celebration (we don't live in FL but she has alot of family down there) and you totally filmed them driving down the road! I am stoked in a silly way lol. Love the usage of new equipment, the drone shots and then the go pro mount on the mask - very cool!

More beach videos please. I would love to see Jackson’s reaction to the beach and what he thinks of the waves. Keep safe with the two hurricanes going into the gulf. We are in threat of the depression that will be here late Tuesday or early Wednesday. It will be a tropical storm or a cat. 1 or 2 hurricane. So Co-Vid19 pr not the weather can be just as bad.
I'm a local in that area and I was very happy to see that Tim was able to visit this popular beach! it is unfortunate that the reef is not as pretty as it should be, during low tides water is shallow enough for visitors to walk on and go to the other side of the reef to snorkel and swim (and many of them stand on those reefs which harm it even more). But thank you for visiting one of my favorite places to be!

Best time to go snorkeling is in the mornings or before sundown, but keep in mind, that's usually when the fish are feeding(think sharks !)and in the summer before the tide goes out or the winds kick up. I Really miss the many days I spent snorkeling & free diving in HI, but, after 13 years, I just couldn't live on an island anymore....I'm planning on going to FL in Feb 2021, not sure if the weather will be good for snorkeling that time of year, but I guess I will find out! & I will definitely be checking out the Bathtub Reef. Thanks for the tip Tim :0)

That was so much fun. I really enjoy the underwater adventures. The drone shots were wonderful. I hope you can do more drone videos in other nature areas and parks. It was fun seeing the fish underwater. Remembering when you guys went to see the manatees, maybe you can use the drone there. Thanks!
