Dude they definitely cut up nice 🤘 I did have a couple that fooled me though haha, just iron on the inside. Excited to see your view of the trip later today! 🤘😁
They say KY state rock is Agate...I've never found one though...but I'll keep looking till I do!!!...Awesome finds guys!...and seeing a brown bear too?cool!
The best breccia I've found these nodules in are about 1 foot down once you got to hard rock 🤷♂️ But yes agreed 20 ft would be interesting to see!!! You wanna dig a big hole next summer with Ragnar and I? I think we are going to try to set up a weekend family camping trip to go out there next summer.
Love Daisy, livin the dream. Fun to see what you guys were finding up there. Beautiful scenery, what a great place to hunt. That one at 10:35 tho! Beautiful blues too, thanks for taking us along.
Thank you 😊 that geode is going to be awesome once I disolve the calcite. Excited to try that out and film it of course. Lol this has got to be my favorite place to hound. 🤘 It's only about an hour away. Love it!!
Yeah I use a Covington 6" trim saw. You should be able to google them, look up Covington engineering. They are in Idaho I believe, great customer service and quick shipping. My saw was about $650 when I got it new. 🤘
Going to cut some more later tonight. They are amazing once polished. Definitely down for a rock trade if you are interested. Shoot me an email at rockhuggerart@gmail.com
@@TheRockHugger I am just about to finish tumbling some peristerite that I collected this summer. And I have loads of fossils and minerals, honestly I am starting to run out of room to store everything lol.
I'm going to head to red top today and I'm new into rock hunting, could you give me tips for areas on the trail? I haven't found anything on my hunts so far
Most of the good stuff is hiding about 1-2 feet down. You gotta dig til you hit hard rock, then just start peeling away layers of the rock. I'd say bring a shovel, rock hammer, pry bar, and chisel. It takes a couple times going here to find the best spots.
You're welcome and good luck 🤘 also be aware of your surroundings up there we encountered a decent sized black bear on the drive up last weekend. We didn't see any up where we were digging. Also we didn't go all the way to the lookout area as most people do. Just before you get to the lookout parking there are a few roads that go off. Definitely worthwhile to walk down those and explore the little off-roads. From there just look for any pits where people have been digging and you may find they left behind some goodies another way to come back with some decent materials if you haven't been there before. 🤘 Best of luck 🤞 have a fun and safe trip!
Just found you guys and Love it! Could you please tell me what breed Daisy is? My baby boy looks very similar and I would love to know what he is. Thx and keep up the good work!
I think she's a mix of lab and black mouth cur. A southern dog from what I've gathered she was a rescue from Okanagan in 2015. Love my little daisy 🥰 thanks for watching. 😊🤘
I get excited when I find unique stuff too. That chocolatey agate nodule was super cool! Nice of ya to share some of your finds with Jeremy. Always like seeing you slice open your finds at the end. Nice video, buddy! Rock on 😁🤘
Dang! You found some great stuff! And I appreciate the tips on recognizing those agates when they are covered in host rock, that's tough for me. I wonder how many i've thrown to the wayside, I try not to think about it haha. Awesome video!
I had that big one cut at first creek treasures and gifts. The Rock shop at the bottom of Blewett pass right by the turn off to Ellensburg. They only charged me $5. 😊🤘
Thanks Lester!! Still have a bunch to cut. That and a lot of little smaller nodules to tumble. Appreciate the kind words. Now I will be switching to more videos in the shop working with the stuff I found this year. Hopefully I got enough to keep me busy until spring. 🤘 Cheers
Hi! We (my 4 kids, husband & I) are visiting Washington. We have been trying to follow the rockhounding site coordinates and it’s taking us no where. Can you help us? We are buying a truck in Moses Lake and headed back through Pendleton, La Grand, Ontario into Idaho in a day. We would like to find some fun things before we go back.
Is there anywhere that you are willing to share that has similar materials we could get to? Please. My kids have been hounding since we adopted them 4 y ago, so I’m not worried that they might not be able to make it. Ty 😊
Unfortunately the ground is still pretty mucky on most of the road that produce these agates in this area. Don't want to send you somewhere you might get stuck to be honest
@@TheRockHugger I can respect that. We went to Saddle Mt. Not that great. If you ever come to Idaho I would be glad to show you where to go. Thanks again!
New Subscriber! We are working on naming the host material better too lol Its easy to just say what you think but we have discovered folks don't like that so were working on educating ourselves more to ensure accuracy. Love your content and daisy seems like a good partner for rockhounding! Are you mostly in Washington? We are joining vanlife in the next few months and definitely will be spending some time there at some point!
Hey there friend! :) Yeah mostly in Washington this year as we've got a 1 year old, so staying close to home has been the plan. I think next year we might to the Oregon coast and some places in Oregon this Spring possibly. Then maybe Montana next June tentative... There are lots of places like Redtop that you can drive right into a dig spot. Our pits in this video were like 200 ft from where we parked. This is my favorite spot in Washington state! I am learning to be more vague with host rocks and always learning more geology as I go. Cheers! Hope to meet up with you all some day :)
@@TheRockHugger Same here! So I (Brian) lived in seaside oregon for a couple of years and loved oregon and washington (sometimes I went to seattle) but this was before rockhounding became part of my soul sadly. So I will deff be showing nicholette around oregon and washington at some point next year hopefully. To rockhound but also just to experience the cliffs overlooking the ocean on highway 101 (I think thats the name.) Its something everyone should see in their lifetime. I will comment and let you know when we are making our way out that way and maybe you can point us in the right direction for rockhounding!
