I know sound on YT get "compressed" but this kind of comparison make me think a lot about what Glenn Fricker says about "at High gain the pickup does not really matter that much". Anyway thanks for your work this HB is already on my wish list on Thomann 😉
If you compare active with passive PU the difference is way more obvious. In addition to YT’s compression, active PU also do compress the sound, the preamp acts like an overdrive pedal so, yes, the difference of tone between these 2 is really not easy to hear. Hope you will enjoy your SC Custom III as much as I do enjoy mine ;)
This is a great comparison. HB has come a long way I feel and I might try some of these new guitars. I've owned several LTD's in the past 2 years most of them ended being returned for inconsistent QC. I guess if you are not picky about the type of woods and logo design HB is a good choice for any musician.
Thanks ! Harley Benton has finally reached to a very good level of quality. Now, people who absolutely want a guitar with a mahogany body won't find it with Harley Benton.
Wow looks like Harley Benton did it again! Great comparison 🤘🏻 And great choice for less than half the price I'm glad Harley Benton went with Tesla active pickups rather than HBZs.
Great comparison. I had an LTD and an SC Custom II. They were very close but the LTD fretwork was so much better. And the neck was so much more comfortable. The Harley Benton neck was too thick for my taste.
@@ToroKchannel the sc ii had the satin neck. But I've heard the sc III is thinner than the ii. Also the new HB pickups are a huge upgrade over what was in the sc ii.
Great comparison! Thanks a lot! 😊🤘
Thanks Daniel :)

Thanks ! Yes these Tesla are way better than the HBZ or Roswell Active

interesting. i prefer a thicker neck. i have an sc custom ii and was thinking about getting a LTD... as soon as i have enough space.
Thanks ! Did you have a satin neck or a glossy neck on your SC Custom II ?
If you go for a satin neck on your LTD it will feel thinner than if you go for a glossy neck.

@@omgnerv It's funny you mention that. Was talking to a guy and we agreed the Amarok neck was uncomfortable. Too thick for me too thin for him.
the new headstock logo of the HB looks weird to me... i just wonder WHY?!
as always :-D thanks for the interesting comparison!
I must admit I don’t understand this logo on the headstock either. Now I didn’t understand the previous one, so no change for me ;)
If i had those tesla pickups i wouldn’t upgrade em they sound good enough to me
Same opinion for me, these Tesla are very good indeed
EMG pickups are better, but not by much
Totally agree !
Am I the only one who hears the poor intonation? Is it my imagination?
It is your imagination. Both guitars are perfectly intonated, I have set them up before playing.
