    I have a 2000 LS1, what is that plug for that plugs into the alternator? Whatever that does its causing my lights to flicker in my car.

      It's what controls the voltage regulator, it's basically key on power to excite the alternator, check your connection

    Thank you for the film. @5:14 those bolts (both lower and upper) are 24 ft-lbs. Do you happen know if faulty Ignition Coil(s) can cause the Alternator not charge the Battery? I have Battery Light and Alternator doesn't charge the Battery. I have code P0621 and advices inn scanner to replace the Ignition Coil(s) and Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. I think I fried the Alternator running the car w/EGR Valve removed. I was cleaning EGR Valve ports, but probably too long. There was a smell of smth burning (rpms went to 4000). There is power to alternator B and L points (L - ignition point), I've checked. It was good to see this film. I replaced the alternator only once before, and many details were not really clear. Thank you again.

      Low voltage may throw many codes, get your charging system fixed, anything under 11 volts and things are not going to work well, good luck and you're welcome, thanks for watching

      @@ccreations123 Thank you for pointing on that interesting effect w/low voltage. It is good to know. Unfortunately Battery Light is true: the voltage on the battery drops, when running.

      Upper: M8 x 1.25 x 1-1/2"
      Lower: M8 x 1.25 x 5.0" , thread is only on the end 1-3/8".
      Upper Bolt is a nightmare, I couldn't fit it in, smth doesn't align.

    Great video as always. How long would you say this job would take as a novice?

    • @ccreations123
      @ccreations123  3 года назад +2

      Maybe an hour and a half, it's about 30 minutes if your all set up for it but still about an hour f you count getting things out and putting them back up, on these cars its better to take your time if you haven't worked on them before and not lose anything along the way

      It takes a bit of a skilled hand and some patience, having a couple tools doesn't hurt either, it's not easy, but it's not that hard either, I might give it a 6 for difficulty level, thanks for watching

      It's a bit on the tougher side but can be done, it's a job but that's why I made the video so that there's no mystery to it and also because there was no videos that I could find showing how to get the belt on and off, good luck with whichever you choose, a mobile mechanic should do this job for under 200 plus parts, imo
