@@romeohulu9194 If you get the car high enough to reach in there you could be done in 20 minutes, takes more time to jack the car up and get tools out and put away then the actual repair, par for the course and the fish won't wait lol

My best tip would be to glance at the race prep video's on this channel and consider pulling your carbs off for a clean, change your brake fluid, fork seals are likely to start leaking, watch fz1 front to back on this channel

They are both vents and no it doesn't matter which one goes where

The fuel was actually still turned off at the end but normal idle for me is 1100ish rpm, there are still packings in the muffler but no baffle, I have the baffle/spark arrestor though, my muffler is cracked now so it's louder and awaiting replacement, thanks for watching

If the idle stays high for longer than in this video, look for vacuum leaks and that the air cleaner and hoses are all tight and right to start out

It's a bit on the tougher side but can be done, it's a job but that's why I made the video so that there's no mystery to it and also because there was no videos that I could find showing how to get the belt on and off, good luck with whichever you choose, a mobile mechanic should do this job for under 200 plus parts, imo

02 with an 05 engine

@@ccreations123what are the benefits of swapping to a gen 2 engine?

@@TheFatherCharles I don't believe there would be any. I've thought about experimenting with fuel injection from a second gen but haven't, in the u.s. the first gen is 01-05, second is 06-14 I believe, the second gen bike is a great bike as well, I'd replace the stator asap if you have one, they like to come apart and shell the engine, otherwise, ride and upgrade as needed

@@ccreations123 ahh okay my mistake. I thought 05 was second gen. I'm getting an 04 soon and I was wondering if that was a conversion people did frequemtly.

@@TheFatherCharles np, I've never seen a conversion but have seen an r1 conversion unfinished, the mounting points are different and no real advantage, congrats on the 04, I have some informative videos with the fz1 front to back video being the first of my videos I would watch to get a plan together for upgrades appropriate for you, (hint) the suspension is the best upgrade ever for this bike, I'll try to link the video

I left just enough to not leak, I don't remember exactly but I believe that I used a grinder and just took the blocker part out and left the rest for that reason (leaking potential)

@ccreations123 You removed the backerplate and left just the cover? I'm thinking I am going to keep the plate and use the cover. I don't think it will leak. If it does I figure out how to keep the exup valve permanently open vs removing it.

You should watch the alternator video where I do it one handed while videoing, I'm glad you got it, I'm not a small person and believe it or not I can reach around the starter and feel the bolt hole and bolt to get it started, I've had some practice over the years on these though, again, I'm glad you got it and I hope this video helped, thanks for watching

Actually I just realized it's before the supercharger so nopressure from the blower is being seen there ...sometimes I overthink shit lol😂

Possibly, it is run diffrently now and awaiting a wideband install with the exhaust valve nearby to run th crankcase pressure to, it was just sucking the hose closed here, possibly a pcv valve still in there but it has been a minute
