Really glad I found this video! I’ve a beloved cooper r50 and the headlining is coming away. I tried to repair it but the foam has completely disintegrated in the 21 years!! Can’t wait to recover this.
Excellent. Sometimes because this is usually done outside (meaning my screen is harder to see) I find it's a bit dark. Would have been useful to mention how you remove sunroof bezel. Did I miss the mirror removal.
Bro I do mobile headliners for a living and how many headliners say sedans can you do w that 85 dollar can seems crazy expensive, I use dap contact cement adhesives it’s yellow and comes in a big 5 gallon cost 150 and it has to be sprayed via pneumatic spray gun
HI, Nice video.I have a question..I saw you just pulled out the whole cardboard out of the ceiling. Did you remove the siding portion of the windshield and middle and rear sidings..that holds the headliner.?
Can I do the material recovering and glue application at home? If so what products should I use, or do I need to get that part professionally done? Cheers
Yeah, watch the video however, for us novices, you are so quick to quick and you made no comments as dismantling great job, but just to fast, but thank you
Would a Mini Cooper with a "panoramic sunroof" be as straightforward as a Mini Cooper with no sunroof to have roof liner replaced? For example, are there connections on the sunroof I should watch for/disconnect before taking the roof liner off, please?
From memory the roof liner board is pretty straightforward to drop down with sunroof models, very similar to non sunroof models. They don't come through often, so it gets difficult to recall and suggest accurate steps right now here in the comment section
Sorry, just a question. For roof removal il strictly necessary to removal lateral vertical front and posterior cover? In other guide i saw that this is necessary. Do you help me? Thanks
Fabric may only be sagging in a few places & still neat, but if it previously hasn't been recovered, Adding glue to the existing factory material wont work, looks messy, it will leave a visable stain due to glue hitting raw fabric. Over time the foam backing on the fabric crumbles away making it un-stick & causing the fabric to fall down. To fix the sagging issue professionally, the Foam/Fabric needs to be replaced. Here is a video that also explains this ruclips.net/video/iZ1nJ4pZfkY/видео.html
Thank you. I used a wire brush but a narrow one. I wound up with a little damage but nothing I can't work with. I'm just having the hardest time deciding what headliner material I want to use. So, so many cool ideas.
Unfortunately I haven't stored any measurements for this particular job, but when you measure up this one yourself, make sure to include atleast 2 inch overhang for safe measure

Appreciate the video. But you left out the most important part we needed help with: the B and C pillars!
Really glad I found this video! I’ve a beloved cooper r50 and the headlining is coming away. I tried to repair it but the foam has completely disintegrated in the 21 years!! Can’t wait to recover this.
Hai Bro.. i'm from Indonesia, your Video is Verry Helpfull to do my job here. Thank you so much. The Best for you...

Is this the same for the mini with the double sun roofs

What tools are you using to smooth down the foam and what are you spraying on it? Hoping to do mine this weekend on my 2003 mini!
Thank you from spain !

On this car, I was able to leave the A B and C pillars in place, and just flex the headliner board away from them.
What did you apply on material before you smooth it out?
Tnx for this! Can i use my old headliner?

Awesome thank u I’m doing in mine in black
Thanks!
What kind of brush did you use to scrape the old foam and adhesive off? A wide wire brush?
Usually it's a combination of a straw brush and soft fibre style brush
Wire brush can work on some headliner boards, but it can damage the board aswell, so be careful with that tool
Thank you. I used a wire brush but a narrow one. I wound up with a little damage but nothing I can't work with. I'm just having the hardest time deciding what headliner material I want to use. So, so many cool ideas.
nice work.
Ha! I wish it was that easy. Getting all the screws wasn't too difficult.
How much fabric is needed to re cover a mini head lining ?
Excellent!
Any tips on where to get the headliner fabric in the US?
You could try Headliner Magic 🎩 ✨
What size i need for the new Fabric ? My Car Mini R50?
Hi Reece how much material is needed to get the liner in correctly?
Unfortunately I haven't stored any measurements for this particular job, but when you measure up this one yourself, make sure to include atleast 2 inch overhang for safe measure
Hi there. Let me help you out. The material I got was 5,5 ft. x 6,6 ft. (170cmx200cm) and there was plenty of overhang
Looks easy, Thanks.
What glue to use for it?
Usually we use T65

Is there a video on how to do this with the double sun roof???
Unfortunately haven't done anything on this channel yet for double sunroof/Moon roof setups
It was easier than I thought. Only terrible thing is to brush off all the old glue/foam.
You don't have to remove the A/B/C pillar covers at all? 🤔
no not at all, you can bend the headliner like a taco carefully itll be fine.
How do ya put it back in is the real fuk’n question?!?
