Mate! You're my hero for 2022! I thought I had a whole shoot ruined, but with your tuturial I could salvage 85%!
Glad to hear it!
This is an awesome tip. It even works with skies that looked featureless to my own eyes when I took the shot!
This is the best Lightroom tutorial I've seen on youtube! :) I knew that dehaze was bringing up that noisy detail but never did I thought about bringing texture down.
I found your channel a few hours ago, and I've been binge watching every single video! So much valuable information and such interesting content. Congratulations and keep it up!!
This is a GREAT video...short and to the point. I'd love to see more of these.
FANTASTIC!! I thought you were just going to say reduce the highlights or something similar. Never thought of this. Can't wait to give this a try. Thanks!
Great tutorial and video format, loving it! Thanks 👍👍
Unbelievable! What a great tip, thank you!
brilliant thanks Mark, wasn't aware of the colour options use, very helpful thanks
Nice! I stumbled upon that tool earlier and was surprised at how well it can identify the subject and the sky.
Fantastic Mark, thank you so much for this tip
Just what I needed. Thank you.
this also works in photoshop under camera raw settings (layout is different with a few less options) but a good tool if you dont have light room
More of these please! So helpful!
Great tutorial Mark, will definitely be trying out the workflow 🙂
Marvelous and magical 🎉
Man, this is awesome! You're great! Thanks
Why am i always amazed by your uploads?? This is sooooo helpful.. Thanks Mark 🙏
Thanks mate. Much appreciated 🙏
RESPECT!
This was awesome…had not seen this technique
Thank you so much.
This was awesome. I do the select sky part but never in my wildest dreams thought about that slider combo afterwards. I've just tried a less severe version of this on a sky that was well blown out but not as badly as the demo one - it looks fantastic now. This looks like it will be a great series Mark!
Thanks very much. Glad it helps 😁
Sensational, Mr. McGee.Thanks so much for sharing this precious tip!
Best regards.
Welcome 😁
Wow! I think you just saved one of my (otherwise) best photos from Japan! I'll be trying this when I get home. Thank you!! Edit: Yes, this totally worked! Thank you!!
This is a very good technique. Thank you
Awesome!

@@MarkMcGeePhotos Yes you definatly are a motivator, especially when i saw your video on when you got your silver play button, congrats on that by the way, that made me think if you can do it why cant other photographers, thanks for being a huge inspiration in my life
Very nice sir. Thank u
Great tutorial...🧑🏻💻
thanks! I had the same problem editing a photo with exactly the same location !
2 minute pot of gold. Cheers😁
Golden video
Very useful
Nice advice! Thx!
Great tip 👌👌
Thank you brother
Cool
Thanks for covering this. An extra tip is when selecting the colour with the eye dropper if you click and hold your mouse you can then move the eye dropper into the image to select a colour within the image to match tone.
Wow✔️ I did a shoot yesterday intending to produce a photomerge pano ~ snow topped mountains over a Loch. Absolutely rubbish and no matter what, the sky was “nothing” = so deleted all those 14 or so images‼️ wish I’d known this yesterday.
Thank you very much for sharing; given you a 👍
No worries. Happy the video helps out!
What version of lightroom are you using ?
I find using too much de-haze like this (even if you drop texture) can create a very unnatural edge against the horizon or any objects interfacing with the sky… might be better off doing this same trick using a linear gradient ?
What App are you using?
when i clicked the video I was wondering why was there still a play button in the middle i thought youtube glitched
I feel I did something wrong. I did get the color selection right but when I went to print and zoomed in my photo looked like a water color picture. (sigh) what am I doing wrong? thanks🤨🤨
how can I do that for a video?
