So I got the ZF and I’m just not getting along with the 40mm f2. Just something about the photos that lens produces I don’t like at all. I don’t want the Nikon 35mm 1.8 just too big for that retro camera. But after watching many videos about this lens the size and rubber weather seal make it a perfect fit for the Nikon zf. Basically it’s a lens that’s never going to leave the zf. A Nikon 100VI if you will. Since I’m primarily a OMS/Olympus shooter, The ZF is going to be my weekend fun camera.
@RalphMayhewPhotography Well, after 18 years of just using 4/3 and m4/3, nikon got me to go full frame. And yes I like it quite a lot! What's been a huge learning curve for me is adjusting to depth of field and understanding really quickly where I could use my 1.2 pro lenses with my olympus in many more scenarios, I just can't do that with full frame. I'm feeling like a beginner all over again in many ways.
You should compare this with the Viltrox 35mm f1.8 Z! I bought the YN85mm Z and the Viltrox 85mm Z and tested them both on my Z5. The Viltrox blew it out of the water. That said, the YN35 looks pretty great! It would make a great comparison!
@@RalphMayhewPhotography Build quality was the absolute first thing I noticed. The Viltrox 85 is built solid and like a tank. The YN is more hollow and plastic feeling. Sharpness differences are very noticeable and the Viltrox definitely catches focus quicker and more often.
This light little lens is really great. What would you use a 35mm for?
On DXOmark it gets a very high score. Your review and others I have seen have convinced me to buy it. Thank you. Greetings from Coruña, Spain
That’s great hear. Thanks for sharing.
Nice little review! Not sure that I need this lens, but after this review, I'm now considering getting one.
Hahaha don’t you love that lol thanks mate.

Do you like the Zf? I’ve not played with one but wondered if it was a wise choice for Nikon 🤷🏼♂️

What made the viltrox so convincing in its domination?

Does it have a focus motor?
Yeah mate. That’s how auto focus works.
Very disappointed this lens not already sold in indonesia yet
Dang really! Can you get it shipped in?
I saw the scratch use plastic not knife
Not sure what scratch you’re referring to but cool 👍
