If you are looking for an all inclusive beach club at the port of Costa Maya, one that is NOT crowded, limits the number of guests allowed in daily, and is simple and not overly pretentious look no farther than MAYA CHAN BEACH CLUB! We may be dating ourselves, but it feels very much like you have stepped into Gilligan's Island when you visit Maya Chan Beach Club, and we have visited many times and renewed wedding vows here. The cost of the day at Maya Chan Beach Resort includes the taxi to and from Maya Chan, the fresh, delicious hand made from scratch authentic taco lunch and the unlimited bar. You are greeted and given a tour, all of your questions will be answered and then each party is led to their respective areas of tranquility for the day. They have seating clusters of naturally weathered teak furniture, hammocks and daybeds throughout the resort which they assign to various sized parties. The service at Maya Chan is impeccable, and although the resort is extremely rustic in feeling, you don't see too much of the staff coming and going, that is to say you are not disturbed and they seem to know exactly when to see about a new drink or more chips and salsa. They have a small gift shop, and offer massages. There is snorkel gear and kayaks as well, and they are included. IMPORTANT: This video shows the waters as muddy looking. There was a storm the night before, and into early morning and ALL the waters on the coast were churned up. Normally the water is a blue green. However this is Mexico and in this area you should expect some sea grass. The staff at Maya Chan Beach Club go to great lengths to manicure the beach, and the paths on the resort property, I have seen them rake the beach and trim greenery. But keep in mind this is natural here. There are also chair flotation devices so if you want to go float and drink a beer you can, and they will serve you in the water. Tips are shared by ALL so at the end of the day add money to the "LOVE BOX". To be clear, this is a sleepy, funky, laid back, rural, amazingly natural resort accessible at the port of Costa Maya BY RESERVATION ONLY. You must make reservations only and book this MONTHS in advance. It is not opulence and elegance with a marble entry and glitz. It's much, much, better. You are on vacation. You will get that level of service without that fuss.
