    Saint Augustine Bishop of Hippo...
    (354 - 430) wrote,
    AGAINST THE LETTER OF MANI CALLED “THE FOUNDATION” in the year 397A.D.
    The succession of priests, from the very see of the Apostle Peter, to whom our Lord, after His resurrection, gave the charge of feeding His sheep, up to the present episcopate, keeps me here. And at last, the very name of Catholic, which, not without reason, belongs to this Church alone, in the face of so many heretics, so much so that, although all heretics want to be called Catholic, when a stranger inquires where the Catholic Church meets, none of the heretics would dare to point out his own basilica or house.

    Catholic church is teaching us to love God and Love our neighbours. To love God means to take the holy Eucharist in remembrance of Lord Jesus, our God. To love God means we pledge to love our neighbours including those people who hate/envy or our enemies. To love God means we must not badmouth others!

    It was Peters confession of faith that Jesus would build his church on.
    Not on Peter himself.
    When Jesus came into the coasts of *Caesarea Philippi* he asked his disciples, saying, "Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?"
    And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
    He saith unto them, "But whom say ye that I am?"
    And Simon Peter answered and said, *Thou art the Christ the Son of the living God*
    And Jesus answered and said unto him, "Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
    And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and *upon this rock I will build my church* and *the gates of hell* shall not prevail against it.”
    {Matthew 16:13-18}
    "upon *this rock* I will build my church"
    is a demonstrated pronoun.
    No different than,
    Jesus answered and said unto them, "Destroy *this temple* and in three days I will raise it up.”
    {John 2:19}
    "the gates of hell"
    Here Jesus was using satire, for the pagans believed that the gates of hades was at a cave in Caesarea Philippi.
    “And I will give unto thee *the keys of the kingdom of heaven* and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
    {Matthew 16:19}
    The keys to the kingdom is not exclusive to Peter, for anyone can open the kingdom of heaven by their witness of the gospel to unbelievers.
    “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.”
    {Matthew 10:32}
    That *if thou shalt confess with thy mouth* the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
    For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and *with the mouth confession is made unto salvation*
    {Romans 10:9-10}
    And that *every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord* to the glory of God the Father.
    {Philippians 2:11}
    Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
    {1 John 4:15}
    And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
    And Philip said, *If thou believest with all thine heart thou mayest* And he answered and said, *I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God*
    {Acts 8:35-36}

    They were the 8th day Nicolaitans.
    Revelation 13:1-10 the (conglomerate) beast from out of the sea.
    And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and *ten horns* and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
    And the beast which I saw was like unto *a leopard* and his feet were as the feet of *a bear* and his mouth as the mouth of *a lion* and *the dragon* gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
    {Revelation 13:1-2}
    Greek > philosophy
    Persian > religious sects and monachism
    Babylonian > sun worship (Mithraism)
    Roman > law

    'Catholic Record' September 1 1923
    "Sunday is our voice [MARK] of authority....The church is above the bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact."
    ☝️
    Blasphemy!
    And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, *and think to change times and laws* and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
    {Daniel 7:25}

    I don't think Jesus would have much interest in the dogmatic rigidity of the Catholic Church, likely seeing it as another Pharisaic loadstone worthy of being released. Paul would have made more sense as a "first Pope" than Peter.

    Great until around 3 minutes when you start spouting the same old Catholic nonsense about Peter in Rome - there is not one shred of evidence that Peter, an uneducated fisherman from Gallilee came to Rome. Really, the first three minutes are about the origins of Christianity, of which the Catholic church is a part.
