I'm 99% certain that Demon's Souls, DS1 and DS3 all share the exact same bird model. There is around 4 idle animations for em too. In the Demon Remake they actually fly away correctly and don't just fly through walls. The DS2 bird is actually just a REALLY big falcon like the falconers use. The demon hawk things are nothing new. But not many places mention em. Only 1 wiki does atm.

I can't believe that I spent 100s of hours playing the PS3 & PS5 Demon's. and never realized you could kill the birds in 4-1. As someone who is a scientist who studies crows, I am telling you, specifically, in science, no one calls jackdaws crows. If you want to be "specific" like you said, then you shouldn't either. They're not the same thing.
If you're saying "crow family" you're referring to the taxonomic grouping of Corvidae, which includes things from nutcrackers to blue jays to ravens.
So your reasoning for calling a jackdaw a crow is because random people "call the black ones crows?" Let's get grackles and blackbirds in there, then, too.
Also, calling someone a human or an ape? It's not one or the other, that's not how taxonomy works. They're both. A jackdaw is a jackdaw and a member of the crow family. But that's not what you said. You said a jackdaw is a crow, which is not true unless you're okay with calling all members of the crow family crows, which means you'd call blue jays, ravens, and other birds crows, too. Which you said you don't.

Incorrect, this information has been on the Hawk enemy page and White Arrow page of the Demon’s Souls wikidot for over 10 years.
The DS3 ones seem to lack the nasal bristles (the patch of feathers extending into the beak) that are typical for corvids. So they are either nearly adult rooks (they loose their face feathers when they mature, beak shape fits too) or non-corvid passerines like the cracticines (currawongs, butcherbirds, australian magpies).

As we all know, Armored Core: Last Raven released in 2005, thus canonically presenting the end of all ravens in FROMSOFT games. What we see in the Soulborne series are not actual ravens, but rather psychic manifestations of our desire to have a new Armored Core game, and this is why they cannot be harmed.

Actually ravens and crows "share" the same genus called Corvus. Theres no particular raven or crow per say, in the genus of ravens and crows theres multiple kinds, most of the time humans refer to the Corvus corax when they speak of ravens/crows
