Today, I'm talking about cars, specifically ten essential items you need. Before I start, you need to do two specific things for your car. One is to ensure it's clean, which is one of the easiest things you can do to boost your car's appearance. Next, make sure it doesn't smell like ass. No matter what car you drive, if it stinks like butt, it's a turn-off. I use Drift, which is a sister company to Scentbird. It's not made of synthetic, toxic chemicals. They use natural essential oils, which I'm using teak, which smells insane and connects with a magnet you can slip on your visor. And then clip it. It's made of a simple, sustainable block of wood. That said, here are the essentials you need in your car:
Pen and paper. You always need these to write things down while you're in your car.
Tube of Vaseline. It's the best and can double as a moisturizer if your hands are dry. You can also dab it around your eyes. Other lip balms will melt and get nasty.
Grooming kit. Buy or assemble a kit with essentials such as scissors, tweezers, and clippers.
Knife. You can get a knife with a glass break on the back. This could also be used in case of an accident.
Umbrella. You want to ensure you're still looking good even in the rain.
Gum. You need to have fresh breath.
Pack of tissues. These are great to have on hand for various reasons, including crying, runny noses, and spills.
Sunglasses. Always keep an extra pair in your car.
Tire inflator. Mine is from the brand Slime. It's a mini tire inflator and has come in handy.
Bag + Box. My essentials bag contains extra coins (change), hand sanitizer, toothbrush, toothpaste, aspirin, Tylenol, butt wipes, and dental floss. My box contains a light jacket, first aid kit, gloves, towel, and running shoes.
Headphones. I like to keep these in the car in case I forget mine.
Flashlight. It's essential for nighttime issues. Mine's from a company called Coast.

You need Jumper Cables, a basic Tool Kit, Road Flares, a Yellow Reflective vest

It’s 2024, get a portable jump starter. They’re as cheap as $30-$40 these days. I have a couple, Noco Boost and Nexpow 2500A. They hold a charge for a long time and can jump start several vehicles on one charge.
Especially if traveling between cities and/or a guy lives in less populated areas

Jumper cables device, air tire portable compressor, lightweight aluminum jack, a bag of essential tools, spear tire (not your typical donut) extra chargers, an ice scrapper, extra 1/4 of engine oil, antifreeze gallon, and a solar charger.
And pepper spray.

A small/medium fire extinguisher is a nice thing to have, you never know when you might need it.
Add a headlamp. Nothing more frustrating than trying to change a tire in the dark while juggling a handheld flashlight. The handheld is definitely better for looking FOR stuff, but a headlamp is better for looking AT stuff. Just my .02¢

I don't know about anyone else but the last time I was in a car that was broken down on the side of the road, I was thankful I had my grooming kit with me.

Ice scraper and brush for cold weather. Just leave it in the trunk year round. Also good for tree sap and bird crap that's been hardened on your window.
I think you covered everything a person needs in the car. Some items I put in my car on a road trip one year during the winter when it was snowing was a small shovel and sleeping bags. My wife looked at me funny and said "Um, what is with the shovel and sleeping bags? Am I coming back from this road trip?" LOL. Perhaps I over did it with the shovel but even with an SUV I wanted to be prepared.
I need working brakes in my car. Writing this while driving.
No specific order
1. IFAK w Narcan
2. Combat Torniquet
3. Battery Jumper
4. Concealed weapon on your person. (You should never leave home without it.)
5. Depending on season a coat/ light jacket.
6. Water/something to drink, stay hydrated of you break down
7. (This one is subjective but I need it.) Plate Carrier
8. Long Gun of some sort. AR or shotgun are my favorite depending on where I am/ what I'm doing
9. Spare Ammo
10. Cell phone and a charger. Lifeline to everything it is needed

@daegrun lol man no I work private Security and I'm former Corrections. Plus I own a farm (lots of varmints) so I made it a habit to start carrying all that to help people if I need to and protect myself god forbid I have to.

I love this channel and you've given so much good advice that I usually agree with. But seeing those brushes hit the car hurts my heart :-( Get a paint correction and ceramic coat and then just go to touchless car washes. They do just as good a job, and they do not damage your paint.

You have WAY too much stuff in your car. I have mints, tissues, flashlight, tire pressure gauge and driving gloves and that's it! I'm a car guy and real car guys keep the absolute minimum stuff in their car. They don't live out of their car, they drive it! I like the knife though, I might add that.
You only need a white van with a rusty Polish/Romanian license plate.
I'd add a wire hanger and pair of pliers/cutters for said hanger. I've done roadside repairs for exhaust and wiper arms with a wire hanger. I'll also say a bottle of water or two stashed away from direct sunlight, offer then to someone that's been stranded on the side of the road.

Unnecessary items add to extra weight, which makes your car slow. and I want my car to go fast, really fast- like a LIGHTNING.
I also have some gum in my car. I also have sunglasses because it's very sunny where I live. Another thing is Aftershave. If I get out of the house and forget to put some, I have it in my car. Kinda nice. Also got a hat to deal with the sun.

German car guy here..Would not recommend putting a BMW through a brushing car wash… the clear coat on newer German cars especially BMW’s is not real strong. It will get ruined from all the leftover crap scrapped against your car by those brushes. Touch-less only!

Plastic grocery bags. Changing a tire, no gloves? Plastic bags. Impromptu lunch on the road? A plastic bag for the litter. Lighter.
*Jumper Cables / Jumper Pack; Phillips & Flathead Screwdrivers,* a pair of *Slip Joint Pliers,* and a *6 or 8 In. Crescent Wrench; Full-Size Spare Tire, Jack, & Lug Wrench* (the smaller diameter of the mini donut spares means you have to drive slower or risk damaging your drive components); *Fire starter* (matches or lighter); *Salt & Pepper* shakers (my friends have come to appreciate that I have them in the glovebox); *Map & Compass; Window Scraper; 1 Gal of Distilled Water* (for overheating of either the vehicle or its occupants); *1 Quart of Motor Oil;* and a nice *Heavy Wool Blanket.* I have 4x4 and a sufficient amount of ground clearance so that my all-terrain tires can get me through a little snow, but back when I drove a low 2 wheel drive car, I always kept my *tire chains* in the trunk, too. *Maybe an extra 5 - 10 Gal of Gasoline,* if I'm going on a trip through areas where gasoline is either too expensive or non-existent. Leased or not, I'd never put any car I drive daily through a drive-thru car wash, especially if it's new. Worst thing you can do! Jesus!
I never understood why anybody would lease a car, I could see if needed it for only for a few months, my opinion, it's just throwing money away, you can't call it your car!

Instead of a pan, I keep a mechanical pencil. It will always work. A flash light with a lithium battery. alkaline batteries tend to leak when left in extreme temperatures.
Never found a drive through car washbthat actually gets your car completely clean. It always leaves some dirt.

I keep a extra pair of shoes in my truck so if I have to change a tire or help someone I don’t mess up the ones I’m wearing , and I also keep my 9mm for the same purpose as a condom , better to have it and not need it

How are you gonna talk about essentials in your car without mentioning a basic set of tools, lightbulbs, tape, a power bank and a candle with a lighter. These are actually essential if something breaks down in the middle of nowhere.

* You also need a reflective safety vest. (You will be amazed how often THAT gets used.)
* You also need a HEAVY coat, not only a light jacket, ALSO an actual COAT, which also carries a winter hat, AND winter gloves.
* You also need a blanket. (Alcohol makes me sleepy, so I can have a nap in my SUV. I have also used it during rescues.)

As a former auto mechanic and an auto shop teacher, I strongly disagree with the slime pump. If you put fix a flat slime in your tire, it can ruin the tire pressure sensor, and it may not be able to patch the hole in the tire, and most shops will turn away a tire repair if the tire has been slimed. Keep an actual spare in the car, preferably with a jack, jack stand, and a torque wrench (and know the proper torque spec for your vehicle.) It may not be as fast, but its the more cost effective and smarter option.
If your car smells like ass, you need to clean whatever is causing that scent in the car. Could be a spilled drink on the carpet that is rotting. If its your seat, you need to bathe more often, scrub better, and wash in your crack!
Most importantly would be the 45 or the 9 mil.
Now that I've gotten older, I find that keeping an empty Gatorade bottle in the car comes in quite handy. You'll thank me later. 👀 😂

you can't abuse a Car if its Lease at the end of the days you still paying how much the car has been used and worn coz at the end they check the value of the Car if its less than what you have paid you will still be charged extra

Volunteer firefighter / EMT - Better option i've found instead of a knife with a window punch is the ResQMe tool. Spring loaded punch with a seat belt cutter. 2 pack on Amazon for about 16 bucks. Keep one in my own car, one in my turnout gear. Never had a problem taking a car window with one of those.
