This is so well explained and so very helpful to writers like me. I've stopped writing for the last 2 years because nothing will come to me and now I can more clearly see what changes I need to make to invite the characters back into my head and into the story. Thank you!

I'm so so glad I've come across your channel and this video specifically. I was just thinking the other day, and identifying that I don't operate in the step by step actionable way, how can I be as effective as those who do that in helping others through my content. This content right here feels like a breath of fresh air!! Thank you for highlighting the feminine energy, which is truly what draws me and where I feel most like myself. 🧡🧡

damn this is good AF. I did this when I created a journal the other day. I woke up and had this idea. I didn't check social media, or emails or anything. I just created and it flowed SOOO easily. OMG it was amazing. I need to tap into my intuitive/feminine energy MORE. Thank you for sharing this. I plan to have a feminine energy week and create without consuming others work/ ideas etc.

Lauren, love this! Relationship versus achievement orientation speaks to me very much and I can see how I pick up the baton of achievement sometimes when I am really a connector.

Wow, I just came across your channel and I'm so glad I did. I was feeling so lost with my writing and looked up "infp writer" on youtube to see if I can get my inspiration back. This take on writing sounds so different from anything I've ever heard, and I'm intrigued. Can't wait to see more and thank you for this.. I finally feel like I can finish that book I started :)

I don’t write so much these days, but I’m finding your videos are really reaffirming in what I’ve been discovering in my creative expression practice and even in the way I approach so many things in general. Thank you for putting words to that experience for me. It is healing just to hear this. I love what you’re doing! All the best!

HI, LAUREN. I FULLY UNDERSTAND YOUR MINDSET. WHEN WRITING, I'VE HAD PLENTY OF SIMILAR MOMENTS THAT ACTUALLY FEEL GOOD. TROUBLE IS, I CAN'T FOCUS ENOUGH TO STAY ON ONE TRACK AND ULTIMATELY MY WRITING IS ALL OVER THE PLACE. CASE IN POINT, I STRUGGLE COMPOSING A SIMPLE DECLARATIVE PREMISE. GIVEN A BODY OF WORK, I 'INTUE' TOO MANY DIRECTIONS MY PLOTS CAN GO. LONG STORY SHORT, I STRONGLY DRAWN TOWARD OUTLINING, HAVING MY LITTLE MAP TO GUIDE ME -- BUT FRANKLY, I DON'T LIKE IT. HOW CAN I ENJOY THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS? THANK YOU. LOVE YOUR WORK!

Oh my God, Lauren these videos are so helpful. I have 98% of a novel done and I know that the plot is good and the characters and the action is good. I know it's all very sound and interested but there's just something missing that I could never quite explain. My story is set in a medieval-type fictional world and I wrote a scene where one of my characters, a young prince, is so frustrated and angry with his family and the social customs of his society he takes his sword and starts striking it against the stone work of his castle. He's sexually frustrated, romantically thwarted, and just plain pissed. I gave the story to a friend to read and he liked that passage, but he said he just couldn't 'see' it. I see it as a scene where the character is clearly self-destructive as he is obviously not going to win against the stone and will only injure himself, and he does. And that's the thing about intuitive writing, it doesn't have the visceral quality to create scenes that have emotional impact. Intuitively I know all the right words are there, but I just can't actualize the scene. I really feel like I need a writing partner or an editor who can take my ideas and pare them down or punch them up such that they have appropriate impact. I see it as a passionate, sparks literally flying passage, the character is really going berserk, and yet I just can't seem to get there. I'm not sure I can learn it, it feels like I need more help than that. I think this is an INFJ problem. We know our ideas are good and yet we just can't get there. Am I wrong?

I feel really lucky to be coming to this whole thing just as you're making these videos. I'm only starting to think seriously about writing and I've been going through exactly what you're talking about - writing a little bit and being unsure about it, letting ideas churn and come out rather than dictating them from above, watching "how to write" content and seeing all this advice about structure and outlining and productivity and it's like fuck, maybe it's not what I was looking for either. Just wanted to say I really appreciate this perspective and advice. Thank you!

Thank you lauren for your videos. I can relate to them so much.
It happened to me a lot. For instance Few days ago I was listening to one of vivaldi pieces that Was in my head for past days. and a new story idea came to my mind while I was feeling it so intensely.
I couldn’t make that story to words. Because It was just pictures.
But the process of it felt so expressive , natural and satisfying.

How do I handle intuitive writing if I’m published traditionally with deadlines?

  • @kaiyi6568

I am an INFP writer living in Korea. I've been writing for years now, which were mostly memoirs of my life. Now I am working on several projects at the same time. Actually, I don't even know how many books these will turn into. I feel like I am lost in the woods everyday. I wish I can just focus on one single topic but it doesn't seem to work. My goal is to send my work to the publishing company once I get a book finished... but I am worried if I cannot make it by next year. Any advice on how I can find a way to focus on one topic...?
Also, do you recommend not editing a work while starting on a new project?
