Is the Gospel of Thomas older than that of Mark? It is assumed that since the authentic Gospels - that is, those now in the New Testament - were written around 70-90 AD. were written, the Gospel of Thomas must have been written considerably later and therefore they suggested a date of 140 AD. (i.e., twice as late as the Gospel of Mark in the New Testament). Furthermore, Luke is the writer of the Acts. So, there can be no discrepancy between the Gospel of Luke and the book of Acts.
@gjaltjanwijmenga4831 - Thank you for a great question. We can place Thomas post 70CE, the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple. Beyond that here has been some debate. Yes, some European scholars argue for it being 2nd century, but a body of American scholars favour an earlier dating. I am with scholars like John Dominic Crossan in the second camp because of internal evidence within Thomas, and points of comparison with the canonicals, finding that the differences between Thomas and the canonicals are best explained by a movement in the canonicals towards orthodoxy. To break it down: i) Matthew, Mark, and Luke are somewhat finessed and harmonised (hence the term synoptics.) ii) Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all have features which demonstrate a conscious accommodation to an emerged orthodoxy. By contrast Thomas shows no signs of that. iii) Have a read of Thomas and you will quickly note the independence of most of the the material within it. iv) 36% of the sayings of Thomas find parallels in the earliest of sources ie in Q. v) Since Thomas' commonality is with Q, rather than with the particular gospels that quoted Q (ie Matthew and Luke) logically, this placesThomas and Q prior to Matthew and Luke. @@PaulWallis In the book of Acts is described how Saulus met Christ on his way to Damascus. From that moment he was called Paul. Jesus appeared after his resurrection as light or with a materialized body, a so-called glorified body. Luke tells the story of the disciples walking to Emmaus. When Jesus stayed with them to eat and broke bread, he disappeared as soon as they recognized him. Jesus disappeared once before, namely when residents of Nazareth wanted to throw him off a cliff to kill him because they did not believe him when he explained the Scriptures in the synagogue. The story is described in the Gospel of Luke chapter 4. It is understandable that many believers cannot yet get a good idea of what exactly the resurrection entails, and it will certainly have led to misinterpretations from time to time, but that is not Paul's fault, and it's not Luke's fault either.
It happened to me via astral projection. It shook me to the core because I grew up in a Christian home with strong Pentecostal beliefs. It has completely changed the way I see the Creator and life.

As one who called myself "Christian" for many years, the questions that kept popping into my mind were "if we must convert others to save them, how is this not judging them?" and "if we are born sinners and must be saved, why were we born at all?" The fundamental Church teachings seemed to contradict itself over and over again, but these contradictions were dismissed through the reminders from others of the fear of "what if I'm wrong". The "ah ha" moment for me that led me away from the church I was a part of was when I got the courage (because it is scary to go against so many who have strong beliefs) to acknowledge that God cannot punish because if God created all, then all are a part of God, and God cannot be whole without all of the parts. The fact that we exist means we must be a part of God as a whole. What we interpret as "good" and "bad" are just that, our interpretation, and the bible says "God rains down on both the righteous and the sinner". After leaving, I then had the freedom to start thinking and seeking answers that used to be off limits. It doesn't matter what the "truth" is as there is no such thing as "one truth", because without freedom to choose, life is meaningless since it only leads to empty followers rather than brave explorers. Only a few years after this decision, I had my "awakening" moment. I did not have someone preach to me or tell me what to believe. It was in my mind, in my heart, and it was enlightening to realize who we are and what we are experiencing. The words "you are light! you are consciousness! you are connected with the One, the All!" led me to the understanding I have today.

@@PaulWallis At the time just after my late father's death I was 'worried ' about where he would be as we're taught going to Heaven or Hell. I spoke to no one about my worries but I knew my father was kind of naughty thus my worries. Couple months later I was lying on my bed in daytime and became aware of my fathers presence in my room, immediately I sat up and realized this is impossible. He was standing with a soft smile looking straight at me fully clothed and as clear as I myself was, no 'foggy' looks but absolute clarity. I didn't know what to say but stood up realizing I wasn't asleep and could only utter 'and now ' ? With a soft but clear voice he said 'I only came to tell you that I am in the RIGHT PLACE'. Immediately I thought that I told no one about my worry and wondered HOW my father knew that. Still in disbelief I turned around on the spot I stood and for a second time my father somehow sensing that I don't believe yet said the exact same words to me. On hearing it again I felt a kind of 'Warmth ' filling my whole body and believed what he said . The moment I believed he just vanished. Mow listening to you on the 'resurrection ' it came to my mind was THIS not exactly what was seen by all involved with the people that 'SAW JESUS'S RESURRECTION ' , a 'spiritual body' that can basically appear absolutely 'Normal ' to any eyes laid upon Him ? This could further make it more understandable His rising into the skies (Heaven) above and the explanations of anyone witnessing that. I had an experience while singing in church with my eyes closed and the presence of a great light moved in front of me and as I yielded to it and kept on singing, I literally shook, the light was so bright, but my eyes were closed, total peace filled me up with Love and then the purest tone came out of my voice. Then a warmth of oil or honey poured over the top of my head and my whole body. It was the most amazing experience I have ever had in my entire life. So I can relate very strongly with what you are saying, and I didn’t get the voice this time with this experience. Another time many years later I was woken up with a voice calling my name in the middle of the night/early morning hour and this happened 4 nights and finally the fourth night I literally sat up and said “yes, Lord. What will you want me to do “? Your heart has to be receptive and your mind open to have these experiences with God. I have had 3 major experiences total. I love God with all of my heart and I love Jesus, too! It’s the fruits of the Spirit/Soul within, I think 🤔. A complete heart of Love seeking the Truth from within your soul or heart. I wasn’t reading a Bible during any of those experiences. 2 were in church and the calling of my name during the 4 nights were 3 times at the house I was living at and one of those 4 nights was at my daughter’s house. By the 4th time I sat up and responded. I don’t really know my purpose other than to tell people that to Love God and to love people and to help them when you can. That’s all.❤ Stop fighting and judging others and stop evil in your own heart. Think on goodness and not negativity. Live in NOW moments and I am not talking about drug or alcohol parties. Dance and be free within yourself and love yourself. When you do all of these things you find an inner peace and joy that you have never known before and you give of your Light that is inside of you to others. It’s tangible.

I remember when I used to study the bible heavily, especially during bible college I would use texts like strongs concordance and thayers etc and would scratch my head thinking what they are teaching and what I’m reading the words are meant to mean aren’t lining up. I’ve also done two lots of college where each one would in part contradict the other. It’s led me to believe that the guy teaching on the platform is only regurgitating what his / her college have groomed them to believe.
You are so right, at some level the churches always make us feel that to doubt them is to doubt God. I was a lay pastor for a number of years and I remember the thing that broke the camels back for me was at a cult seminar, all the speakers dissected every single group that they considered cults including the New Age movement and UFO believers, Kung Fu etc etc. By the end of it it hit me really strongly that the only difference between us and these other groups was that we considered we were right and that they were wrong. Of course then I saw that they undoubtedly would think the same thing back. So which one's right? Maybe none at all in the end probably most of what we think is right is a load of twaddle. I definitely felt God leading away and the only clear message I got was 'You're not a baby anymore. You've gotta work it out for yourself', and I've been left to it for 40 years. The whole truth is definitely not in books as much as we love them. The truth is literally wordless (despite the fact that I'm writing a book and I absolutely love words ha ha). your comment brought back a lot of memories, I used to use strong's and others. I enjoyed that intellectual scholarly Rabbi type life but it is definitely a trap, an intellectual trap. God is definitely always testing us in someway rather. Cheers, Dave
There are two scriptures that I hang my hat on, "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all of these things shall be added unto you" and "God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him". The rest is church dogma if you ask me.

I think it's important to see people who are dedicated to similar topics and that viewers often accept as factual information, be discussed and challenged in a way that could shine a light on fallacies and that would point viewers to the most factual information and allowing viewers to make better discernment between facts and opinions. It would also make for a great discussion.
Wes knows all the similarities between ancient texts and the Bible, yet he chooses to consider them just random coincidences and when faced with actual archeological findings that disprove his views he just gets out by saying he's not an archeologist. He knows his way with his words but that's pretty much it, anyone that knows acutall stuff can see that easily
@mattrixx007 Actually, Wes have a particular set of skills and knowledge which he's willing to share and his open about it. He doesn't pretend to know sth he doesn't. His expertise is purely examining the different scriptures and the evidence of their authenticity and factuality. My issue is when some people give opinions as factual information (and perceived as such by the viewers), only to discover later that it's either a personal interpretation, misrepresented or just fake. (Billy Carson was very calmly, by Wes, exposed of many such fallacies in a very short time). And I feel many viewers and followers were mislead by him, because he was a self-proclaimed expert.

I conclude those early Christians had drank the 'living water' only that would give them the conviction that it was worth putting their life on the line to share that transmission. I too recieved the loving golden light before I knew anything about the scriptures. I am truly grateful.
In 1963, a Greek Catholic priest named Isa Rashid, along with his Swiss friend Billy Eduard Albert Meier, discovered a small cave on the slope of a hill in Jerusalem. They found ancient scrolls wrapped in animal skin and encased in dry resin. The scrolls contained a 2000-year-old biographical narrative of a man named Jmmanuel, who taught about the true nature of the universe, the immortality of the human spirit through reincarnation, and a life free from the constraints of human greed and lust for power. Isa Rashid translated 36 chapters of the scrolls from Aramaic to German, but he and his family were later assassinated. However, before his death, he sent the translated chapters to his friend in Switzerland, who assembled them into the book "The Talmud Jmmanuel." This book contains the unedited original versions of Mark1-23 and sheds light on why the story didn't gain widespread attention. The discovery of the scrolls and their precise location in 1963 is indeed remarkable.
The Gospel of Matthew is the closest to the Talmud of Jmmanuel . As the original one was stolen under Judas Iscariot . Judas Iscariot was the scribe to Jesus .
Basically the resurrection stories are all symbolic and refer to a secret tradition found in many parts of the world This tradition preserves knowledge and practice of the resurrection ritual - they're methods of inducing out of body experience in initiates, where people are taken beyond the physical, so that they come to "self-realisation", where they directly experience their divine & infinite nature, where they come to understand personally that all is mind, everything is a thought of the creator, and we are that creator This is the essence and origin of the resurrection myths found throughout the world
BTW, this is close to Eastern Orthodox understanding of Resurrection, which does not stress physicality of the Resurrection (although does not ignore it), but the main focus is on the Spiritual . The idea of Theosis (Deification) in Orthodoxy shows this very clear. The physical focus is mostly Protestant idea, to the point of absurdity in some sects (which even rejected the immortal soul). And even mainline Protestants find Theosis like some kind of Greek hubris manifestation or even gnostic idea (the latter is not true of course)

Some Eastern Yogis say that a being that has been spiritually resurrected might also be experienced as a physical being that can be physically touched by humans physically living on Earth.

Paul's view on this is very well argued and has been made by others for some time. It makes a lot of sense in the contemporary religious atmosphere of the time. The first authenticated documents we have are some genuine letters of St. Paul from around 55 A.D., and he was almost exclusively trying to convert the peoples of the Hellenistic basin of the Med. We must guard against absolute certainty, because we have the latest evidence from the Shroud, which appears to be a microsecond burst of intense radiation on the cloth enclosing a body. Also, the passage in early Mark does refer to a 'shining' being in the tomb saying he wasn't there anymore. Knowing what we are now discovering about NHI(non human intelligence) from 'elsewhere', millions of years ahead of our evolution, a bodily resuscitation after death is not too far-fetched. Also, the immediate disciples, all of them Jewish and having no belief in Platonic thought, went out and some of them suffered horrible deaths, seemingly convinced of the miraculous nature of what they claim to have experienced. There is no Q.E.D. here.
Luke 11:29-32 That's the reason The Gospel of John has Jesus dying on a different day! As the Lambs are prepared for sacrifice, so is Jesus! It's The Day of Preparation was the day before the Sabbath, which was always on Friday. Revelation 4:8-11 NWT Bible scholars know there is a Q source for the Gospels. Before they were written. Was Mark's Gospel written first! Bible scholars know the long and short conclusions were added later. But why! Mark's Gospel ends at Mark 16:8! Because if the women tell no one, then Who Is! This is the reason Mark's Gospel is second. They are written and put in this order for a reason. They represent the Four Living Creatures! Revelation 19:4-10 Matthew-Who Was! Mark-Who Is! Wow, so well done. I have always understood the resurrection as a spiritual ascension that was interpreted as a bodily resurrection but didn't realize how popular that misinterpretation was. The idea that nothing is real that isn't material is absolutely backward. I 've got to say, no one explains these things the way Paul Wallis does. For other, related truths I also value Gregg Braden.

i'm really enjoying this Paul, I'm just wondering what your take is on 1 Corinthians 15:8? As one abnormally born it's strange thing to say. I just looked it up on a Christian website and of course they came up with a whole lot of cobblers 'it means that he was born again' ha ha. That's like a child level guess made in Sunday School. I made a study of Acts a while ago and wow that book is something else. What somewhat shocked me was that Jesus didn't just appear to Paul on the way to Emmaus but he also appears again considerably later, I think years later. So the writer is indicating that Jesus was not off to heaven, but was hanging around doing whatever missions he was on. Very strange, but sort of exciting.

I watched this after watching your previous video that I made a lengthy comment on. It was called They want me to stop talking. It is helpful, there is no doubt in my mind Jesus existed and is the son of God and was brought to life by God. However, I feel still a deep sadness that I can't find that feeling of God's spirit in my life. Life in my autumn years has become one of many struggles for me and those who I love. For me it took a little time to let go of my old sense of intimacy with God to find a new one. Apostle Paul describes God as "The Source of the Cosmos and Everything in it; that in which we all live and move and have our being; of which we are all offspring." In this vision there is no separation. We are all emanations and expressions of the Source. It means my consciousness is a participation in the consciousness of and from the Source. My intelligence liekwise. It means that "God" responds to my questions and communications as a universe of resources. I should therefore fully expect to think divine thoughts or have divine experiences. As I accepted this more cosmic view of God I started looking for evidences of this oneness and connection - and began noticing them. I notice them every day. My sense of connection is now far less fragile and evanescent than ever it was in my previous religious frame of mind. I hope that's helpful. Health and Peace, Paul
Completely agree on Mark as the original gospel, as well Paul's books were earlier still along with Thomas. It has always been my thought that the resurrection was that of the conscious soul spirit.. and not a physical walk among us. I believe He was given a temporary tomb as it was a Sabbath weekend and later moved to the Talpiot tomb. But yet there still is an alien aspect to all of this, or is it misunderstood spiritual beings 🤔 ..its always great to listen to your thoughts..interesting story that happened..My mother passed away and my youngest son said he saw her but she looked pale and it scared him, three days later she appeared to him again as young and normal..so maybe there is something to the time of three days.. sorry back again..what's your thoughts on the UAP egg having a spiritual connection and controlled through psychic connection biblically? The Bible study program I use also teaches that the resurrection is spiritual, not physical. Especially concerning what some churches refer to as "The Rapture". But the word "rapture" never appears in biblical text.

Yes, I have seen the light and experienced the love as you declared. I was spoken to without words and knowledge was downloaded as it were to my understanding, but a lot of it I know I cannot retrieve right now. It changed my life completely, took me away from religion and into being a part of the universe with a new acceptance and love of all life. But I also began to recognise the degradation of humans in so many aspects of life but couldn't condemn them. It has been difficult for me as I wanted to be condemning. Instead I knew they have to live out their base ideas but I can't explain war, torture, despots, oligarchs, kings etc. when we are all the same. As a Quaker I will not bow the knee to them.

For many years I have considered Paul's experience of the risen Christ on his way to Damascus to be a consequence of an NDE following an occipital stroke, possibly induced by his rage and the intensity of his feelings against the Christian community. His blindness and subsequent poor sight, as witnessed by his words in Galatians, would make sense of this. His reference to being raised to the third heaven and being forbidden to speak of certain things is similar to what is frequently reported by people today who have had NDEs. I certainly concur with Paul's explanations here.
I have seen the resurrected Christ with my own eyes. He appeared in a portal which opened right in front of me in my childhood living room. His face shone so brightly I couldnt see his features but I knew immediately who He was. Iwas actually cursing Him at that very moment, having become angry that my sister had for the umpteenth time, tried to witness to me. Since then I have had several unsolicited supernatural/ spiritual experiences , mostly while fully awake in the day time. We can philosophise and second guess all day long- I know He lives! It's not allegorical. Another time I saw Him, He was walking a ways ahead of me with a small group behind Him. He turned and motioned me to keep up.
Unfortunately, many humans suffer the confirmation bias and will look for material that supports their beliefs. Thanks for being brave and revealing the deliberate lies in which Christian religions are rife. Jesus looks at you and is smiling!

Paul, "what really happened" was never a focus of mine. However, since coming across the scientific research on the Shroud of Turin recently I'm quite astounded at the implications. Would love to get your take on it. For me, this is hard science: numbers, data and facts gathered by serious scientists using very fancy measuring machines. It has seismically rocked my prior assumptions.

I always questioned the adopted resurrection of Jesus by the church. I never believed in it in the physical sense. It again speaks to the "lost in translation" metaphor. Then there are the edited or added stories in the same Bible.
Is the Gospel of Thomas older than that of Mark?
It is assumed that since the authentic Gospels - that is, those now in the New Testament - were written around 70-90 AD. were written, the Gospel of Thomas must have been written considerably later and therefore they suggested a date of 140 AD. (i.e., twice as late as the Gospel of Mark in the New Testament). Furthermore, Luke is the writer of the Acts. So, there can be no discrepancy between the Gospel of Luke and the book of Acts.
@gjaltjanwijmenga4831 - Thank you for a great question. We can place Thomas post 70CE, the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple. Beyond that here has been some debate. Yes, some European scholars argue for it being 2nd century, but a body of American scholars favour an earlier dating. I am with scholars like John Dominic Crossan in the second camp because of internal evidence within Thomas, and points of comparison with the canonicals, finding that the differences between Thomas and the canonicals are best explained by a movement in the canonicals towards orthodoxy. To break it down:
i) Matthew, Mark, and Luke are somewhat finessed and harmonised (hence the term synoptics.)
ii) Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all have features which demonstrate a conscious accommodation to an emerged orthodoxy. By contrast Thomas shows no signs of that.
iii) Have a read of Thomas and you will quickly note the independence of most of the the material within it.
iv) 36% of the sayings of Thomas find parallels in the earliest of sources ie in Q.
v) Since Thomas' commonality is with Q, rather than with the particular gospels that quoted Q (ie Matthew and Luke) logically, this placesThomas and Q prior to Matthew and Luke.

@@PaulWallis In the book of Acts is described how Saulus met Christ on his way to Damascus. From that moment he was called Paul. Jesus appeared after his resurrection as light or with a materialized body, a so-called glorified body. Luke tells the story of the disciples walking to Emmaus. When Jesus stayed with them to eat and broke bread, he disappeared as soon as they recognized him. Jesus disappeared once before, namely when residents of Nazareth wanted to throw him off a cliff to kill him because they did not believe him when he explained the Scriptures in the synagogue. The story is described in the Gospel of Luke chapter 4. It is understandable that many believers cannot yet get a good idea of what exactly the resurrection entails, and it will certainly have led to misinterpretations from time to time, but that is not Paul's fault, and it's not Luke's fault either.

As one who called myself "Christian" for many years, the questions that kept popping into my mind were "if we must convert others to save them, how is this not judging them?" and "if we are born sinners and must be saved, why were we born at all?" The fundamental Church teachings seemed to contradict itself over and over again, but these contradictions were dismissed through the reminders from others of the fear of "what if I'm wrong". The "ah ha" moment for me that led me away from the church I was a part of was when I got the courage (because it is scary to go against so many who have strong beliefs) to acknowledge that God cannot punish because if God created all, then all are a part of God, and God cannot be whole without all of the parts. The fact that we exist means we must be a part of God as a whole. What we interpret as "good" and "bad" are just that, our interpretation, and the bible says "God rains down on both the righteous and the sinner". After leaving, I then had the freedom to start thinking and seeking answers that used to be off limits. It doesn't matter what the "truth" is as there is no such thing as "one truth", because without freedom to choose, life is meaningless since it only leads to empty followers rather than brave explorers.
Only a few years after this decision, I had my "awakening" moment. I did not have someone preach to me or tell me what to believe. It was in my mind, in my heart, and it was enlightening to realize who we are and what we are experiencing. The words "you are light! you are consciousness! you are connected with the One, the All!" led me to the understanding I have today.

At the time just after my late father's death I was 'worried ' about where he would be as we're taught going to Heaven or Hell.
I spoke to no one about my worries but I knew my father was kind of naughty thus my worries.
Couple months later I was lying on my bed in daytime and became aware of my fathers presence in my room, immediately I sat up and realized this is impossible.
He was standing with a soft smile looking straight at me fully clothed and as clear as I myself was, no 'foggy' looks but absolute clarity.
I didn't know what to say but stood up realizing I wasn't asleep and could only utter 'and now ' ?
With a soft but clear voice he said 'I only came to tell you that I am in the RIGHT PLACE'.
Immediately I thought that I told no one about my worry and wondered HOW my father knew that.
Still in disbelief I turned around on the spot I stood and for a second time my father somehow sensing that I don't believe yet said the exact same words to me.
On hearing it again I felt a kind of 'Warmth ' filling my whole body and believed what he said .
The moment I believed he just vanished.
Mow listening to you on the 'resurrection ' it came to my mind was THIS not exactly what was seen by all involved with the people that 'SAW JESUS'S RESURRECTION ' , a 'spiritual body' that can basically appear absolutely 'Normal ' to any eyes laid upon Him ?
This could further make it more understandable His rising into the skies (Heaven) above and the explanations of anyone witnessing that.
Sorry to bother you but to find anyone with an open mind to talk to seems quite difficult.

I had an experience while singing in church with my eyes closed and the presence of a great light moved in front of me and as I yielded to it and kept on singing, I literally shook, the light was so bright, but my eyes were closed, total peace filled me up with Love and then the purest tone came out of my voice. Then a warmth of oil or honey poured over the top of my head and my whole body. It was the most amazing experience I have ever had in my entire life. So I can relate very strongly with what you are saying, and I didn’t get the voice this time with this experience. Another time many years later I was woken up with a voice calling my name in the middle of the night/early morning hour and this happened 4 nights and finally the fourth night I literally sat up and said “yes, Lord. What will you want me to do “? Your heart has to be receptive and your mind open to have these experiences with God. I have had 3 major experiences total. I love God with all of my heart and I love Jesus, too! It’s the fruits of the Spirit/Soul within, I think 🤔. A complete heart of Love seeking the Truth from within your soul or heart. I wasn’t reading a Bible during any of those experiences. 2 were in church and the calling of my name during the 4 nights were 3 times at the house I was living at and one of those 4 nights was at my daughter’s house. By the 4th time I sat up and responded. I don’t really know my purpose other than to tell people that to Love God and to love people and to help them when you can. That’s all.❤ Stop fighting and judging others and stop evil in your own heart. Think on goodness and not negativity. Live in NOW moments and I am not talking about drug or alcohol parties. Dance and be free within yourself and love yourself. When you do all of these things you find an inner peace and joy that you have never known before and you give of your Light that is inside of you to others. It’s tangible.

First and foremost, people, those of you remaining within the clutches of any group that disallows pertinent questions and requires obedience and money with the threat of disfellowship and shunning for wandering astray, WALK AWAY!! I remember when I used to study the bible heavily, especially during bible college I would use texts like strongs concordance and thayers etc and would scratch my head thinking what they are teaching and what I’m reading the words are meant to mean aren’t lining up. I’ve also done two lots of college where each one would in part contradict the other. It’s led me to believe that the guy teaching on the platform is only regurgitating what his / her college have groomed them to believe.

You are so right, at some level the churches always make us feel that to doubt them is to doubt God. I was a lay pastor for a number of years and I remember the thing that broke the camels back for me was at a cult seminar, all the speakers dissected every single group that they considered cults including the New Age movement and UFO believers, Kung Fu etc etc. By the end of it it hit me really strongly that the only difference between us and these other groups was that we considered we were right and that they were wrong. Of course then I saw that they undoubtedly would think the same thing back. So which one's right?
Maybe none at all in the end probably most of what we think is right is a load of twaddle. I definitely felt God leading away and the only clear message I got was 'You're not a baby anymore. You've gotta work it out for yourself', and I've been left to it for 40 years.
The whole truth is definitely not in books as much as we love them. The truth is literally wordless (despite the fact that I'm writing a book and I absolutely love words ha ha). your comment brought back a lot of memories, I used to use strong's and others. I enjoyed that intellectual scholarly Rabbi type life but it is definitely a trap, an intellectual trap. God is definitely always testing us in someway rather.

I think it's important to see people who are dedicated to similar topics and that viewers often accept as factual information, be discussed and challenged in a way that could shine a light on fallacies and that would point viewers to the most factual information and allowing viewers to make better discernment between facts and opinions.
It would also make for a great discussion.
Wes knows all the similarities between ancient texts and the Bible, yet he chooses to consider them just random coincidences and when faced with actual archeological findings that disprove his views he just gets out by saying he's not an archeologist. He knows his way with his words but that's pretty much it, anyone that knows acutall stuff can see that easily
@mattrixx007 Actually, Wes have a particular set of skills and knowledge which he's willing to share and his open about it. He doesn't pretend to know sth he doesn't. His expertise is purely examining the different scriptures and the evidence of their authenticity and factuality.
My issue is when some people give opinions as factual information (and perceived as such by the viewers), only to discover later that it's either a personal interpretation, misrepresented or just fake. (Billy Carson was very calmly, by Wes, exposed of many such fallacies in a very short time). And I feel many viewers and followers were mislead by him, because he was a self-proclaimed expert.

In 1963, a Greek Catholic priest named Isa Rashid, along with his Swiss friend Billy Eduard Albert Meier, discovered a small cave on the slope of a hill in Jerusalem. They found ancient scrolls wrapped in animal skin and encased in dry resin. The scrolls contained a 2000-year-old biographical narrative of a man named Jmmanuel, who taught about the true nature of the universe, the immortality of the human spirit through reincarnation, and a life free from the constraints of human greed and lust for power. Isa Rashid translated 36 chapters of the scrolls from Aramaic to German, but he and his family were later assassinated. BTW, this is close to Eastern Orthodox understanding of Resurrection, which does not stress physicality of the Resurrection (although does not ignore it), but the main focus is on the Spiritual . The idea of Theosis (Deification) in Orthodoxy shows this very clear. The physical focus is mostly Protestant idea, to the point of absurdity in some sects (which even rejected the immortal soul). And even mainline Protestants find Theosis like some kind of Greek hubris manifestation or even gnostic idea (the latter is not true of course)

Paul's view on this is very well argued and has been made by others for some time. It makes a lot of sense in the contemporary religious atmosphere of the time. The first authenticated documents we have are some genuine letters of St. Paul from around 55 A.D., and he was almost exclusively trying to convert the peoples of the Hellenistic basin of the Med. We must guard against absolute certainty, because we have the latest evidence from the Shroud, which appears to be a microsecond burst of intense radiation on the cloth enclosing a body. Also, the passage in early Mark does refer to a 'shining' being in the tomb saying he wasn't there anymore. Knowing what we are now discovering about NHI(non human intelligence) from 'elsewhere', millions of years ahead of our evolution, a bodily resuscitation after death is not too far-fetched. Also, the immediate disciples, all of them Jewish and having no belief in Platonic thought, went out and some of them suffered horrible deaths, seemingly convinced of the miraculous nature of what they claim to have experienced. Bible scholars know there is a Q source for the Gospels. Before they were written. Was Mark's Gospel written first! Bible scholars know the long and short conclusions were added later. But why! Mark's Gospel ends at Mark 16:8! Because if the women tell no one, then Who Is! This is the reason Mark's Gospel is second. They are written and put in this order for a reason. Wow, so well done. I have always understood the resurrection as a spiritual ascension that was interpreted as a bodily resurrection but didn't realize how popular that misinterpretation was.

i'm really enjoying this Paul, I'm just wondering what your take is on 1 Corinthians 15:8? As one abnormally born it's strange thing to say. I just looked it up on a Christian website and of course they came up with a whole lot of cobblers 'it means that he was born again' ha ha. That's like a child level guess made in Sunday School. I made a study of Acts a while ago and wow that book is something else. What somewhat shocked me was that Jesus didn't just appear to Paul on the way to Emmaus but he also appears again considerably later, I think years later. So the writer is indicating that Jesus was not off to heaven, but was hanging around doing whatever missions he was on. Very strange, but sort of exciting.
We can 'come and go' in etheric 'form'...The Spirit of Christ is ALWAYS with us...we are just not always aware of it...say la vie...here in this 'place'☺

I watched this after watching your previous video that I made a lengthy comment on. It was called They want me to stop talking.
It is helpful, there is no doubt in my mind Jesus existed and is the son of God and was brought to life by God.
However, I feel still a deep sadness that I can't find that feeling of God's spirit in my life.
Life in my autumn years has become one of many struggles for me and those who I love. Prayers seem to just go into an empty void. 😢
I found your book be thou my breastplate and I wonder if that might help me get out of the tangled mess of sadness and doubt Paul?

For me it took a little time to let go of my old sense of intimacy with God to find a new one. Apostle Paul describes God as "The Source of the Cosmos and Everything in it; that in which we all live and move and have our being; of which we are all offspring." In this vision there is no separation. We are all emanations and expressions of the Source. It means my consciousness is a participation in the consciousness of and from the Source. My intelligence liekwise. It means that "God" responds to my questions and communications as a universe of resources. I should therefore fully expect to think divine thoughts or have divine experiences. As I accepted this more cosmic view of God I started looking for evidences of this oneness and connection - and began noticing them. I notice them every day. My sense of connection is now far less fragile and evanescent than ever it was in my previous religious frame of mind. I hope that's helpful. Health and Peace, Paul
Completely agree on Mark as the original gospel, as well Paul's books were earlier still along with Thomas. It has always been my thought that the resurrection was that of the conscious soul spirit.. and not a physical walk among us. I believe He was given a temporary tomb as it was a Sabbath weekend and later moved to the Talpiot tomb. But yet there still is an alien aspect to all of this, or is it misunderstood spiritual beings 🤔 ..its always great to listen to your thoughts..interesting story that happened..My mother passed away and my youngest son said he saw her but she looked pale and it scared him, three days later she appeared to him again as young and normal..so maybe there is something to the time of three days.. sorry back again..what's your thoughts on the UAP egg having a spiritual connection and controlled through psychic connection biblically? Solomon comes to mind, but I had a dream connected to this that wasn't good..

The Bible study program I use also teaches that the resurrection is spiritual, not physical. Especially concerning what some churches refer to as "The Rapture". But the word "rapture" never appears in biblical text.

Yes, I have seen the light and experienced the love as you declared. I was spoken to without words and knowledge was downloaded as it were to my understanding, but a lot of it I know I cannot retrieve right now. It changed my life completely, took me away from religion and into being a part of the universe with a new acceptance and love of all life. But I also began to recognise the degradation of humans in so many aspects of life but couldn't condemn them. It has been difficult for me as I wanted to be condemning. Instead I knew they have to live out their base ideas but I can't explain war, torture, despots, oligarchs, kings etc. when we are all the same. As a Quaker I will not bow the knee to them.

For many years I have considered Paul's experience of the risen Christ on his way to Damascus to be a consequence of an NDE following an occipital stroke, possibly induced by his rage and the intensity of his feelings against the Christian community. His blindness and subsequent poor sight, as witnessed by his words in Galatians, would make sense of this. His reference to being raised to the third heaven and being forbidden to speak of certain things is similar to what is frequently reported by people today who have had NDEs. I certainly concur with Paul's explanations here.

I have seen the resurrected Christ with my own eyes. He appeared in a portal which opened right in front of me in my childhood living room. His face shone so brightly I couldnt see his features but I knew immediately who He was. Iwas actually cursing Him at that very moment, having become angry that my sister had for the umpteenth time, tried to witness to me. Since then I have had several unsolicited supernatural/ spiritual experiences , mostly while fully awake in the day time. We can philosophise and second guess all day long- I know He lives! It's not allegorical. Another time I saw Him, He was walking a ways ahead of me with a small group behind Him. He turned and motioned me to keep up.

Hi Paul, it's me again. I believe the infamous Q gospel was non other than Josephus Flavius working to qwell Jewish opposition to the Roman Admin. As some of the now New Testament critiques are and have been working on.
Paul, "what really happened" was never a focus of mine. However, since coming across the scientific research on the Shroud of Turin recently I'm quite astounded at the implications.
Would love to get your take on it. For me, this is hard science: numbers, data and facts gathered by serious scientists using very fancy measuring machines. It has seismically rocked my prior assumptions.

The important part of what I'm trying to say here is you, and Mauro in my belief are doing AWESOME work which I'm so very blessed to be able to listen, and watch your abundant teachings. The last ting I need to tell you is I was raised in the Mormon religion; which I always believed was the most politically correct and slowly my eyes have been opened, but my main issue was that I truly believed in a Master architect ( God ). I always questioned the adopted resurrection of Jesus by the church. I never believed in it in the physical sense. It again speaks to the "lost in translation" metaphor.
Then there are the edited or added stories in the same Bible.
God made us in his image, God is not human, God is spiritual, energy.
