Try 4-2-2-2, one striker plays as false 9 to cover for the LAM/RAM when drifting wide. So in attack it transitions to 4:2:3:1 and have one RB or LB overlap during attack. You will end up with 3 at the back, one CM if the other one goes forward, and the false 9 to make late runs into the box feeding off rebounds from crosses. Dunno if i made any sense there but im sure you get it 😅 cheers

I know it's a 5 man defense, but it allows the wing backs to be your width, Ruocco at CAM to help with the width, Enos Jam can still rush from midfield, and you have a solid defense. TBF the person that said 4-1-2-1-2 could also be onto something 😂

If you want something that's 4-2-4-ish, you could give tactic a whirl - I've played 1 1/2 seasons with it in my Frankfurt career and it feels super fun to play with for me! (All played with the default simulation sliders) (Edit: And before I forget - You will have to play this as a custom tactic, cause none of the presets account for these shenanigans on the pitch) Basic Formation is the 4-1-2-1-2 Diamond as you have it. The Line Height I put about 50, because anything above was just draining my CBs stamina too much (and by "too much" I mean it was absolutely ridicolous, basically having to sub off at least one of them by the 60th minute every game if they started with full stamina). Leftback (though you can change that of course, depending on which side suits better) got Attacking Wingback on Attack and basically the left flank to himself, running up and down the entire game. Both CBs just got Defender on Defend, because of the stamina issue. Rightback had Fullback on Defend. Which meant, together with the CDM on Centre Half & Defend, you still got 4 defensive players in the back to keep you safe and steady. For me, the left CM was a Box-to-Box midfielder, and the right CM was the Half Winger. The latter mostly on Attack, but sometimes I switched it to balanced if I need him to come back that little bit more. The CAM role was pretty open, depending on which player played it for me, but Playmaker on Roaming or Balanced, or Shadow Striker all worked pretty well for me. The Strikers I have one as a Poacher, and one as an Advanced Forward on Complete. The Advanced Forwards does runs, drifts wide, etc, while the Poacher does a better job staying central and in the box than the Target Forward does, in my experience. With these roles and instructions, you get something like a 4-1-1-4 in posession, where you don't have to sacrifice width, but you can also keep the center locked down in case a ball gets loose where it shouldn't. And, even if the in-game graphic shows it as this, I had no situation where the Box-to-Box and the CAM ever occupied the same space or just tripped over each other's feet. Especially the Advanced Forward was absolutely mental for me - won both the top goal scorer and the most assist awards in the league, the guy was just doing prime Gandalf things. Never late, never early, just arrived exactly when and where he was meant to. That said, I didn't have time to play with the new patch, so I can't say if something changed the balance of this. Try the 4-3-2-1 (with the 2 CF’s), move the central CM to CDM, make the left CM free roam to make the player behave more like a LM/CM, and turn the right CF to RW. Pretty much gives you what you’re asking for, been using this formation since 2016 and i find it quite sensational hope it’s the same for you. PS. Your LB will push up the field to the LW when attacking, make sure you have pace at LCB
How about a 4-3-3 with smeaton at holding cdm, jam as box to box cm, ruocco as the half-winger cm, then one of your wingers staying wide and one coming in as inside forward to act as almost a second striker. I like to keep one fullback on fullback defend and other on falseback defend, should make you a bit more secure defensively. Also the players (attackers especially) don’t play great until you train them to have the correct position and role. Sorry for the ramble, just trying to make some suggestions that may help. Watching this did make me wish there was a place to share interesting tactics, instead of just "UT meta" ones. For your case maybe look at a 5-3-2 and use player roles to make it a 4-1-3-2 in possession.
*VEt537?w&2J* try this one... its from my manager career save where i play on ultimate difficulty with everything on manual... try with default sliders for start i play on custom sliders to slow game more and i play 6 minutes haves as well... took team from bottom English league to premier league in, won it and now i am in UEFA and still 1st place in premier league... you can play normal sliders i guess but if you gonna play on ultimate like me you have to set acceleration and speed -1 for CPU... like my sprint speed is 40 and 39 for CPU, acceleration you 50 cpu 49... and their Cucurela still can catch up to my winger with 98 speed ultimate just has hidden boost on AI stats... rest of sliders you can leaver same as you shoot error for me and CPU is 63 for instance, pass error 68 for me and cpu etc etc love series keep up the good work cheers
