I had to remind my husband four hours after we woke up on my birthday that it was in fact my birthday. Birthdays aren't special when you compare them to the priceless gift of a good husband and father.
Also maybe he is like me and forgets what day we have today... I for example got no clue what date we have. If I don't know the date I don't know someone got a birthday... thats why I got it all in my phone with notifications xD
Its really a matter of perspective for men. Men in general are not celebrated. Look at Mother's Day vs Father's Day. Then just know that its quite common for nobody except our mother/father or grandparents if they are alive to even call on our birthdays. We dont really take it personally but that means its also not really on our radar so we treat others birthdays in much the same way quite often.
I know its mostly all setup and anything for likes and real personalities of these 2 maybe totally different.. but reminded me of the relationship that i had.. Ex had childlike innocence .. but after a while it started feeling like i m not a partner but a parent ! Painful...
