NEVER trust the grammar in songs!
1. Sometimes singers/songwriters don't know grammatically correct English.
2. Sometimes singers/songwriters change some words to go along with the beat. For example: DON'T has one syllable = one beat, DOESN'T has two syllables = two beats
I know of many songs where they use incorrect grammar. It depends on the "education" of the singer/songwriter.
In your case, the singer should have said "the sun doesn't shine"
