ABOUT THE CHANNEL:
Hi! My name is Mateo, I'm a professional musical theatre composer, splitting my time between Toronto & NYC right now.
Every Thursday on this channel, I post a video analyzing the music theory behind some of the great Broadway musicals of all time! In the past, I've analyzed works by Sondheim, Jason Robert Brown, Pasek & Paul, Jeanine Tesori, and Stephen Schwartz, just to name a few. I also recently recorded a video reacting to Aaron Tveit being cast in Sweeney Todd, despite the fact that he's not a baritone.
Every Sunday on this channel, I post a video update of the progress I'm making on my writing projects, so you can follow along with the process as I create new musicals from scratch.
And every Tuesday on this channel, I post a video reacting to a performance by a star of musical theatre, discussing what makes them so amazing.
If this sounds like your vibe, don't forget to subscribe! ✨✨✨

I've known Anna and Michael and learned from Anna too and seen/heard bits of this show for years. Seeing it in full at Playwrights was great!
Seeing it a second time next month. No hyperbole, one of the best new shows I’ve seen in years. The only others that come to mind are A Strange Loop (no surprise, another MRJ show) and Operation Mincemeat.
Indeed, it was mind-blowing! I saw the first preview and am planning to see it again. Loved your analysis.
I cannot wait to see (or at least listen!!) to this show. I was shocked by how intentional and meaningful the film was -- i expected a femme fatale slather. Instead it's a deep look at purity culture. Everything I have seen of the show so far leaves me hopeful and hyped that stage show will be equally audacious and thoughtful. Looking forward to the spread of Teeth !!
I saw Teeth! Super fun. What a crazy show. Great cast!
You lucky cat. 😎👍
Ooh, man, colour me *immediately* interested in this show. I'll definitely be following this one closely, I happen to be very interested in musical adaptations of horror movie for the multitudes of ways they can be handled.
I saw it last weekend. I loved the first 30 mins but it lost me wth the supernatural content at the end.
Totally fair! I know Anna & Michael are still working on ironing out the ending and making it all make sense, so you are not alone.
