I love the balcony outside room 209 (the background image) So peaceful and beautiful, a place where James can’t be hurt but knows he must continue. That balcony is always a location i remember, so desolate but comforting.
everytime i think of this masterpiece and hear certain osts like promise, truth, angelas hell or theme of laura i get so intense goosebumps i cannot describe. this game did things no other media ever did and i absolutely love it
I will say it without hesitation, Silent Hill 2 (especially this game) can't be masterpiece 10/10 without Akira's soundtrack and his talent. I'm so happy that I played this game last year. And Inshallah, I will play other SH 1,3,4,5 .. games too.
Enjoy it! One of the sad things about games, is we can never relive them again. We can retread, but that first time WOW factor is lightning in a bottle and it's not until the end of the journey that we usually stop and realize "man... i'm going to remember that, that was... special" and it's over already lol. Life is a trip. No matter how hard we try, it seems like we can't really hold onto a moment long enough. Maybe it's just me idk.
Played SH2 during my last winter break on my PlayStation 2 with a Sony Trinketron (one of the KV-13 models with like, 240p res. Sounds shitty (literally too, it was mono) but to me it felt perfect). The game had been in my collection for a while, but I was either too scared or lost trying to play it in high school. The feeling of life crumbling around you, things coming to an end, the limbo and uncertainty of wandering its atmosphere, and the journey of a man desperate to find closure against guilt and broken promises - this came at exactly the right time for me. Mind that I'm graduating this semester, I went for film and communications coming out the other end accomplishing less than I set out to do. In this sense, lacking willpower or succumbing to temptation are themes I deeply resonate with following in my journey, and in a larger sense as I become an adult. AVOID ALL SPOILERS. Play this game blind, as it was intended. If you don't have access, try to get the right CRT shaders for your emulator. Avoid playing the PS3 remake (just trust us on this one). Once you're done, watch the different endings on RUclips, then the SH2 30min documentary. If it somehow doesn't connect, then go onto RUclips essayists for the spoonfeeding (it will click one way or another). SH2 PS5 remake has no choice but to be an entirely different experience because of the material's original presentation and creative process; do not sleep on playing the original just to bandwagon with the gaming community on its remake. If anything, having the PS5 remake and its presentation existing beside the original will be corrosive - people wanting to play SH2 now almost have a last shot when all that's out is a teaser and none of the gameplay. In SH2, you're supposed to walk and fight like a tank, everything's supposed to move with an inhuman or melancholic pace, it's supposed to have winding dutch angles and staged camera positions, and at times it is literally supposed to be frustrating and repetitive to play - you are James Sunderland in transition, transforming through Silent Hill and falling into all of it's organic idiosyncrasies it's original designers intended that resulted in the final product, be that carrying the technical restrictions of its time or by design through its fascination of the dark and uncanny between its Twin Peaks, Francis Bacon, and Crime & Punishment influences - it's all there in the original, for all to make of it what it became and has been cherished and revisited for all these years later. Please play the original Silent Hill 2, and keep asking questions as you play. You won't forget the experience.
Silent Hill 2 - это самая великая игра во всей видеоигровой индустрии. Сплетение всех аспектов игры дает прекрасную картину, которой можно восхищаться и по сегодняшний день. Удачи тебе Автор!
The music for this game always brings me back to my childhood and that sadness for him, for the feelings that you can’t feel again, that you can’t see people anymore. Crap
Nostalgia is described as a homesickness, a longing for a place you can never go to again. It can be... brutal man lol. Don't stay in nostalgia land too long, it really takes a toll trust me. It's nice to visit though and soak in the atmosphere for a while. But if you're anything like me you start thinking too deep on the times, the friends, and you match that up with life today and it starts to really drag you down.
Time to overshare. I've first played silent hill when I was around 8 and I remembered even though I was obviously little at the time scaring me, it fascinated me. All from the environment to the monsters and most importantly, the music. The music is what stuck with me. From my pre teens is when I began to be diagnosed for multiple mental illnesses that are genetic in my family, the one that oversees all being clinical depression personally, the one that affects me the most. And Silent hill's music especially Silent hill 2, is like the suffering morphed into melodies that are like an external voice of my suffering, which is what music really is all about isn't it. Besides the story, symbolism, horror and whatnot of Silent hill that are as great, the music will always be the first thing to come to mind and I'd have so many thanks to give for Akira Yamaoka.
The quality of your slowed remixes is fantastic! Other remixes on RUclips lack clarity and detail - your work is perfect. Please upload more music from Silent Hill.
Wow.. Simply gorgeous.. This is an amazing version of this song I have never heard before and it has blown me away! Thank you so much for this! What an incredible, jaw-dropping way to experience one of my favorite tracks from the game. Great work!~ ♥
i actually like the way this one sounds a lot more. the ending game results song sounded a bit archaic compared to the rest of the ost but this makes the composition sound more atmospheric.
Sometimes i just go into VR chat to sit in Silent Hill worlds. They don't scare me... alright well maybe parts of the apartment lol. There is something really calming and comforting in a setting that's thick with sadness and depression. It's weird. SH was one of a kind, so glad i was just coming of age when this series was in its prime. I really need to edit something together to honor the first 3 games, between EMUvr and VR chat you can make some truly epic content for SH 1, 2 and 3. Very well done ummm... TWAHHIGN! Subscribed.

This sequel was too solid.. From the stilted movement/character models, to the overall "gritty" undertone of the town and its inhabitants.. has a real unforgettable sense of loneliness and isolation you just don't see anymore.. the remake definitely has some big shoes to fill.
