I wish I could play drums the way you do. The double kick is my biggest challenge though. Even after watching your tutorial videos on it, I still find it hard to perfect the art of double kicking while drumming. I wish I could learn from you one on one. You're the best bro. Tuale baba
Bro true that, drum kicks are my problem, and bcos I actually learnt drums to play for my local church, so I had to learn was praises and worship, straight forward, no flair, I have a hard time learning the flair now. 😢😢😢😢
You can try this and see if it works for you... anywhere you are especially on drums, just keep playing double kick.. it'd eventually come ,but start slowly until you get a good feel of it then increase the speed
Amazing job, sometimes when I'm playing African praise after about 5mins my hands start to get sore from holding sticks. It really limits my playing because I know I have the ability to play really good but after my hands get sore I can't play that good. I don't think I'm holding the sticks too tightly. Any suggestions or advice that could help? Thanks
1) It’s all about grip strength - that generally comes the more you practice and play. So work on it by putting a timer ON and just playing a certain groove/chop/sequence etc. Or play along to a praise and worship set from RUclips. Try to gradually improve your time. 2) Correct technique - make sure you’re using wrist and fingers or appropriate techniques. Excessive elbows/shoulders can cause your forearm to ache quickly and that’s when you start losing grip. 3) Another practical thing is using an actual equipment to improve grip strength. Not necessary but you might find it helpful. Search on Amazon, eBay, local shops etc and it’s quite cheap. You can buy one where you can adjust a knob to increase the tension and Gradually improve your grip strength overtime. 4) Be patient and it’ll come. Hope these help
