Truly, I always come to her channel when I'm feeling lonely or jaded and it reminds me of the humanity that we all share but rarely expose. They help me to remember to make the conscious choice to open up and be more kind to everyone.
"We're just two lost souls, swimming in a fish bowl" my boyfriend always associated those lyrics with us, sadly just lost him from cancer this July. The day he passed away I listened to "I'll Never Love Again" which was always one of our favorite songs. I miss him so much. I'm eager to see what life will be like a year from now though.

I'm so sorry. But you know? How can the same song be twisted in different ways by different people? When I hear that song I think about my little brother, who was taken away over a year ago. I also wish he were here and his soul might be wondering around, but mine too; desperately trying to dream with him. Acceptance is hard to do.

P.H. I have a cerebral palsy sister who was able to precariously walk for decades. Had use of both hands somewhat. Mentally challenged but verbal & loves to blab & listen to others! I have had some public singing experiences & a long time ago I decided to ask her if she'd be interested in doing karaoke. Without hesitation, she was completely enthralled. There were 3 songs we would ponder doing. "You Are My Sunshine" was 1 of them! It's an intensely personal song to me as we would sing in a bar & people would be extremely gracious & she loved it! So I appreciate your comment.
I now sing this song to my grandson. I tear up everytime. So grateful to my son and daughter in law.
I made songs for my oldest kids. For my youngest, I couldn't. The lyrics to "You Are My Sunshine " just came out while crying and holding my baby. We've bought her a necklace, and music box that plays the song.

That line always hits me because it makes me think of my mom and how I’m getting older, but so is she and I know I won’t have her much longer.
Very interesting and bittersweet! My interpretation has always been completely different and comes from a tired, selfless mom to her husband. As in "I havent been able to change/grow bc I made my life revolve around you and our family. But with time, Im getting bolder, the children are grown and Im not afraid to grow anymore". Now I wonder what it actually meant! lol its cool how one song can speak to so many people in so many different ways💓
Basically almost every song that I like listening to has a meaning to me and reminds me of someone special. Music has the power to make us laugh, cry, scream and dream. It's truly beautiful.❤️

My first love, one of the last memories I have with her. She was singing ‘Sunrise’ by Norah Jones on my outdoor porch. She was never so comfortable to sing but she was just in the moment and it was so lovely that it caught me off guard. I remember the sunlight coloring her skin and hair. It’s not even a lyric but there’s a part Norah Jones sings “and I say oooo-ooo, ooo-ooo” haha but the way she sang it just warmed my soul and heart. The beauty of her voice was reflected in her outer beauty and it just felt like for a moment the universe was still. I was able to just witness her and her existence and when you love someone so much those moments just feel so movie-like, magical or something. There’s a bunch of songs that remind me of her but definitely that song and lyric associated with her. She had the most beautiful soul and it was an honor to witness in romantically. It’s such a gift when someone lets you see their soul. There are some people you will never see in that soft stillness. I am grateful for what we shared even though it didn’t last ❤ I can only pray & hope to fall in love again. To share those kind of moments makes life feel okay.

When I first heard this song I couldn't stop crying and then I found out he wrote this after his mom died, and that lyric is his mom talking to him after dying. My mom died when I was twelve and listening to this song is just like feeling that my mom is talking to me again, and it brings me peace.
"You Are My Sunshine" has a really special place in my heart. My grandma used to sing it to me and all the young children in my family. Everytime i hear it, it reminds me of the safe feeling of being a child in a family where people were going to try to protect you and take care of you.
Another one is "Ho Hey" by The Lumineers. Specifically the verse

This is the song I always associate with my parents. They used to have this as their ringtones for eachother, so when my siblings and I would hear the phone ring with that tone, we would know exactly who it was. Just gives me that sweet nostalgia y'know?

Song lyrics get stuck inside my mind all the time, and there's no doubt that people can't easily erase the feeling of wondering if they still care about someone even though they're not in their lives anymore. It's very fascinating to hear their personal narratives. They touch people on a deeper level.

The song "For Tonight" by Giveon reminds me of the girl that I'm in love with, who I can't be with. Some days I listen to it and I cry non-stop, but other days it makes me happy and hypes me up. Music is definitely magical and powerful.

The older lady's story is beautiful .. the way she speaks of unconventional families .. "i didnt know if I wanted to fit in that slot .. but I did" it really opened my mind to how society boxes us in to one way of seeing, and it shaped the desires we have for ourselves, the doubts we have about ourselves and the things we feel guilty for and she difintely helped me let go a piece of guilt I held with that little piece of wisdom. A song that reminds of someone is "Stubborn love" by the Lumineers. It really reminds of those who I loved but couldn't tell them how I felt. The part that always gets me is "It's better to feel pain than nothing at all, the opposite of love's indifference"...
The reason why I love that song is because I was finally able to tell a person that I loved her though I already knew it was an impossible relationship cus she's in a relationship already. The feeling of knowing the final outcome still hurts, but at the same time it's a relief cus I was finally able to express myself and say how I feel towards someone. The song helps me think that even if you are going to be rejected or not expecting the outcome you want, it's better than keeping those things to oneself...

About 10 years ago I was absolutely obsessed with Beach House (still am to be honest), and I was about 10000km from my home, and woke up one morning, put on my headphones first thing while lying in bed, put on the song "Take Care" by Beach House, opened my emails, and saw an email that my sister passed away. Ever since then, this song brings intense feeling of sadness and vivid memories of my sister and how she always got me in trouble growing up. I love it so much, and I love her. A very very special song to me, which always makes me cry. But also makes me remember her face perfectly, every time

Mine would be "I can't make you love me if you don't " I carry that song in the deepest part of my heart. After 9 years (starting from 17yrs old) I realized it didn't matter if I bent over backwards to show him how much I loved him, he couldn't. I realized I deserved better at the age of 26. He would never love me.... ever. So I gave up that fight, because I refused to let him patronize me any longer.

She died on January 29, 2022 and being her oldest i had to take care of the cremation process and had to see her body.. every time i hear this song i picture my mom and how beautiful and peaceful she looked. Music is the soundtrack to our life on how we truly feel about ourselves and keep us encouraging for whenever we need a boost of energy to move with ours life.
What a cool idea. For me personally alot of memories will be stored with music attached to it. I love music, it is like a center piece of my soul. The first song that came to my mind was "Roxanne" by Sting. And my best friend used to sing parts of it, whenever I was sad and he would crack me up with his performance. So it weren't the lyrics itself, but how he sang. "You don't have to put on the red light, ..." It's the high pitched part of this song and he wasn't a perfect singer. So he sang the lines and make a weird, funny little performance going along with it, just to make me laugh. Sadly, he passed away in his late twenties. Now every time, this song is being played or becomes stuck in my ear for the day, I feel, he is close by. And he still makes me laugh.
The song from Lynyrd Skynyrd (simple man) reminds me of my son. When my son moved out right after high school, I didn't realize how much I was going to miss him. The song has always been since his child into his manhood. Simple man is one of my favorite songs but more personal. I've always told him to be a simple man in life and to choose something in life he loves to do and get paid. He became a welder and loved it. As moms, we always worry about our children. He always told me not to worry about him and that nothing bad was going to happen to him. He passed away @ 34 yrs old. He would of been 40 this coming May 2023. I still miss him every day and love to listen to our song Simple Man 🎶
"Someone Like You" not cause of the lyrics or the song really. It was just a song that came out during an important time in my life where I was having to say goodbye to a lot of strong connections I made and realizing that my life would never be the same , for better and worse. I had to say goodbye to the entire life I built and this song came on and we all starting singing together. Choked up over, "Don't forget me," and I remember vowing to never forget just how important all those people were to me in that moment, even as I knew I would never see them again.
11 years later and I still feel that bittersweet sting every time I hear the song. As much as it hurts to not have any of them in my life, I'm forever grateful that I even had the chance to know them. The world truly is chaotic and the chances of us meeting and growing close were so slim, but it happened. We cared about each other, even if it was never meant to last. Our connection was real and the shortness of it doesn't change that. It's been so long that I likely couldn't remember all their names, but I will never forget how important they were to me and how real that was.

it hit me right now while watching this video. i was just watching a show and thinking why i started to judge peoples outer appereance after/since covid... never did that before i never really thought about beauty or outer flaws before. never. so now out of nowhere my brain does this oh that person looks so tired or that/this is crooked etc. but funny thing when i watch your videos im so mesmerized by the beauty of all these people for all and each one of them im thinking how unique and beautiful they are and it hit me. that beauty truly lies in being vulnerable and honest. it lies in being human.
i truly cant find beauty in people acting as if life is about being fake so they chose to be. we are human after all we need to come back to our roots to the honest us. the feelings the hurt the love. learned a great lesson

I was lucky to have 9 years with my love before he left the planet with other business to do until me and our kids meet him again. Savor every single day..You aren't guaranteed another one

"You are my Sunshine, my only Sunshine" my grandma's nickname throughout her life was Sunshine. The song has always made me think of her, but i can hardly bear to hear it since she passed away last year in November. not long after my cat, i should add. we are a cat-loving family, and she probably loved them more than everyone I'll ever know. both she and my cat passed due to cancer only 2 months apart.

My grandmother passed from cancer earlier this year and I found this song and it reminded me of her. She was a second mother to me in a sense and these lyrics are a lot like something she would say. She was a very kind and wise woman. ❤️

I have a nack for showing people new music and enjoying it with them. Like, I find a song that I like and think “oh (blank person) would like this song” so I found a song that I thought my friend’s ex girlfriend would like and I saved it because everyone in our friend group knew they would eventually get back together.
I couldn’t show it to her until they did though because of respect for my homie. Well a couple weeks passed and she died in a car accident. I told my friend what happened and I had to leave for work. His parents came over to pick him up so he had a support system when I left. I was definitely in shock at the time, but for the most part it didn’t effect me.
I was delivering pizzas at the time and so I could listen to music while driving and the song started playing. It’s “rosier/punk2” - brakence. I broke down I was able to suck it in when reaching my delivery so I took about 3 more deliveries and came back balling to my managers that I had to go.
The lyric that gets me is at the very beginning. “There’s too many people that I have done wrong and I owe my thanks to for sticking along with me.” I wasn’t a terrible person to her. I make it a point to be nice to my friends SO unless of course they’re absolutely horrible people, but I was a factor in their break up. Probably not the biggest reason, but I was giving my friend the advice to go through with it. Him and I got a bit of flack for the breakup after her death.
Things like “she wouldn’t have been driving that direction if they never broke up. She should’ve been with you guys hanging out instead.” That died down pretty quickly and didn’t effect me as much as it did him, but the part that really gets me is the fact that I can never show that song to her. I know she would’ve loved it. It checked all the boxes. And I know she would’ve forgiven me for doing the things I did. When she died they were starting to talk again not much, but she realized her faults and I could tell she was really trying to be a better person.
The song still plays sometimes and as soon as I hear the first lyric I get choked up a bit. I can contain the tears, but I can’t finish the verse on the first try.

Mine is a song by Simon and Garfunkel called Like a Bridge Over Troubled Water. My dad sat me down and played it for me when I was 13. We had gotten into a fight, can’t even remember about what now. The lyrics say “like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down”.
I completely identified with the girl whose grandmother has dementia, because my dad is currently losing his battle with Lewy body dementia. It’s a song that will remind me of him for the rest of my life. I miss him so much. I’m now his bridge, just like he was mine. I took care of him for as long as I could until he needed full time care. Most times I wish for $, it’s not for myself. It’s so that I can have the means to bring him home for the end. Love you, dad, always.

My nephew was just a baby and my family lost him a few years back and it hurts never getting to see him grow, live in this ugly, yet beautiful world. I play this song every once and while and these lyrics from "Daniel" by Elton John just gets me every time... (It was also one of the songs that played during the wake) and the memory of most of my family being together, mourning him, in complete agony. I just don't think I'll ever be able to listen to this song without completely losing myself in tears.
The song for me would definitely have to be "I'm getting ready" by Tasha cobbs. So my mom died 4 years ago but a month or two before she died this song came out and I was a huge fan of it. The particular lyric that definitely reminds me of my mom is "I'm getting ready to see something I've never seen". When she died I know she saw something incredible.❤️❤️

For me it's Impersonator by Sabrina Claudio, made a lot of horrible mistakes and decisions in a past relationship and the lyrics describe my actions perfectly. Every time I listen to it it helps with wanting to become a better person in the future
I feel you my guy , that hit home...the regrets , the yearning of wanting to love that person again and give them what they deserve... ugh.
Just remember that you can't change the past, but you can change your perspective about it. Learn from these mistakes and move on, it's the only way really.
@@VintageFlowers I did , but not being able to proove them we changed and moved on from the past is rough , seeing them stuck with the past hurts because we want their happiness also...:(
@@frostwindsgaming8645 If you're still trying to prove something to them, you're obviously not over it. At some point, you'll have to forget about them and focus on yourself and your journey in life.
I had to learn this too, it's best to move on, improve upon yourself, and then make better relationships in the future, you can apologize or prove you changed but it's wrong to expect to gain anything out of it
"Getting through still has its cost" ... Hozier's Who We Are. It reminds me of myself and how people say "youre so strong because you have multiple sclerosis and went through an abusive relationship." What they have no idea of is that while "I got through" difficult times, I still struggle and do not trust to hope
“Somewhere over the rainbow” - reminds me of my grandpa who passed almost two years ago now, we would listen to Israel Kamakawiwoʻole on car rides and road trips together all the time, and he always asked me to sing that song specifically, he loved my singing voice and would commission me to learn old songs to sing around the campfire.
And “your smile lit a 60 watt bulb in my house that was darkened for days” in All Shades Of Blue by Gregory Alan Isokov- makes me think of my baby girl who brings me so much joy. I found out I was pregnant with her 3 days before my grandpa died and I never got to tell him I was having a baby, she’s a little redhead like me and already loves singing❤ I know my grandpa must have met her when he arrived in heaven
I think the coolest thing about music or a certain artist is when you share his or her music to someone and they end up loving it and you both start going to his/her concert together and y’all vibe together , dance together, sing in the car together, for me It’s bad bunny, I share his music to my ex and through out our 6 years together we saw him multiple times even when he was still not that known and I still remember when she would tell me I knew bad bunny because of you ❤️🥺
My brother is an addict that has chosen to stay on the street. I haven't seen him in years, he was my favourite sibling and I lost him. I miss him so much!

When I first met my wife, she was in a horribly abusive relationship. When she finally got out, we were able to be together, and this was the song she chose to be played as she walked down the aisle at our wedding. Less than a year and a half later, I lost her to cancer. She went through all those years of hurt and abuse to spend the last days of her life with me. Hearing that song just destroys me now in the most heart-wrenching, but beautiful way.
This Norwegian Singer and Violinist/Fidder, Alexander Rybak, wrote a song called "Mom" and the first line is: "Mom, Here I Am Again, Wounded and Alone" and the one that says:

Absolutely with the woman who adores Bruce Springsteen! My mum played (and still plays) some amazing songs from him and now that I'm an adult and get the chance to really pay attention to the lyrics and find different meanings within them I have so much appreciation for them.
To me it’s Shine on you crazy diamond, it was my brothers favorite band, he used to love Pink Floyd, hearing the intro of the song, the guitar solos, the ethereal sounding experience, when I close my eyes hearing it, I picture him transitioning from this life to another one. It just makes me cry everytime.
Music is a big part of my life and I have a song (or more than one) for nearly everybody and any situation, but 2 of than stroke me right now...
One is I Miss You, from Blink 182, who reminds me of a friend that I'm actually in love with, but we've been kinda distant right now (physical and socially), but whenever we talk to each other we always start with "hello, there", just like the song... Also, his voice is always inside my head...
The second one is probably the most important song in my life, I Am Mine, from Pearl Jam... I have liked this song since I first listened to it, but it really changed inside me the day I broke up a long-term relationship and I came back to my parent's house. I was devastated and lost, but somehow I turned on the radio and it started to play... As I reabsorbed the words, it immediately made me feel better and stronger. It's been a key tune in my life since...
I hope you've heard the "I miss you" cover by Chase Eagleson here in youtube. It actually becomes better than the original (if that's even possible)

U2 - Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
My sister and I used to listen to the album this song is on whenever we were home alone for an evening. We would make pizza in the kitchen and just sing along to all the songs and there's a lone in this one that goes "A House Does Not Make A Home" that we both sang a little louder and I think only now, years later, since our parents have divorced and we all moved to different cities, I can tell back then we were both singing what we felt about our parents then, that even though we were living in a beautiful house, our parents didn't truly make it feel like home.
The next like after that is "Don't Leave Me Here Alone" and I always looked at her when I sang it. She is a year older so I was always terrified she'd move out before me and leave me to live alone with my parents for a year. It all worked out "alright" since we all moved out within a month in 2020 when my parents split up but I still think about that every time I listen to the song.
Just seeing the thumbnail,
I felt inner pain bubbling up
and with the first scene it came pouring out😭

A song lyric that reminds me of my best friend…is what comes to mind. She decided to reset her life and move out of state which was Georgia. And we had my playlist on shuffle and it played “in my room” a lyric hit right when I pulled up to drop her off back home for the last time cause she was leaving the next morning…it played “when you left for Georgia right when I arrived…I’ve never had an experience like that ever…I miss her so much and it’s been 6 months now
