Seems like people don't understand for who the remastered games are for... mainly console players (including Nintendo players), coming from old gen 720p 30fps to current gen 1080p 60fps/4k 30fps is a massive improvement, which can't be seen in this video because both games are PC versions. I see it in a whole new light and I'm glad to have it back.
If i may summarize this video in my own words: its basically up-scaled HD to 4k - but as with anything that's been up-scaled (and not native) - it's hard to tell the difference - apart from the mentioned brightness and ever so slight sharpness.
Honestly, this proves that you shouldn't remaster a game from 2010. If I look at graphics from then, and now, I usually do not see any difference. Now, if it was a game from the early 2000s or something, then yes, remastering it would be perfectly viable. This comparison proves my point that the game did NOT need a remaster. It's only been 10 years. 2025 or even 2030 would've been a better time to remaster it. Or...just not remaster it at all.
This was a serious disappointment. I was hoping for some raytraced reflections but knew it was unrealistic, but they didn't really improve any graphical tech, just some minor environmental improvements, different filter, and that's it
Original Criterion Hot Pursuit. He just said original Hot Pursuit for the sake of simplicity. Can fault the developer for taking the same name of a game that was made 10-15 years before.

Why the ORIGINAL look nicer?!
Adding two stones was a really hard work.
If i may summarize this video in my own words: its basically up-scaled HD to 4k - but as with anything that's been up-scaled (and not native) - it's hard to tell the difference - apart from the mentioned brightness and ever so slight sharpness.
Fun fact: the Dodge vipers sound is still a v8 than a v10 in the remaster
Actually they do have some "V10 sound" but it is barely heard unless if you extract it and that is the deccel sound. Plus the Evo X uses R34 Skyline.
I still playing the original game on my Xbox 360 sometimes and have fun ^^ and the servers still work 😍💚
EA: Engeneers, make a remastered of this game
Engeneers: turn AA on, game is ready !!
*increases 5% of the brightness*
And that's enough remaking.
I would call this game
Need For Speed:demastered
I am going to stick with rivals anyways.
Rivals is underrated
While I played it a lot it was extremely lacking. Just my opinion
Rivals was one of the best Modern NFS as I say. Soundtrack fucking slaps tho.
Sometimes i couldn't tell which was which without having to look for the NFS title
I was hoping for some raytraced reflections but knew it was unrealistic, but they didn't really improve any graphical tech, just some minor environmental improvements, different filter, and that's it
More like they just lowered the contrast, and the light from the head and taillights.
@@HeroManNick132 I wouldn't be surprised if they just removed one of the more dramatic filters in the original game and thought it looked better
Did he just say "Original Hot pursuit" lol?
...Original was released in the 90s
Original Criterion Hot Pursuit. He just said original Hot Pursuit for the sake of simplicity. Can fault the developer for taking the same name of a game that was made 10-15 years before.
We needed “Need for speed Hot pursuit 2” remastered, not this trash...
Not trash, but not worth to remaster. Should release patch as major overhaul from og games instead sold the separate product.
They can’t remaster or remake that, also in your opinion it might be trash, but it’s the 4th best NFS of all time
Well there is peoples never played it like me so idc
There is a need for speed game that is called hot persuit 2. But it is older than hot persuit. Search it.
When drive at high speed you cant see difference between old and new game
I swear, I thought i was looking at an I-Spy book during the side by side's because i was looking HARD to spot a difference. Once he started talking about crispy cop car numbers, I knew this remaster was a joke.
"re-releasing nfs hot pursuit calling it remastered"
EA-'I was just a businessman doing business"
am glad that there's a Nick930 that helps some like me that never had the chance to play the original game and about to buy the so called remaster for full price. swear am about to buy and got a second thought of seeing this comparison. so glad I did
you forgot to cover a lot of improvements to the environment, other than vegetation, there are new object added to the road in some places. Look at the comparisons on their own site. The building are new, lighting from the windows is different etc...
I was really interested before. Thanks for this video.
