That is the problem today with some remasters. Games like this one and spiderman ps4 remaster for ps5 for example are not remasters. They are ports. Its like calling gta v for ps4 back when it came out for the console a remaster but its not. Its a port with a little better graphics and taking adavange of the console features.
Actually spiderman on ps4 is pretty different. I mean some of the character models changed, they don't even look like the original. Not saying it's bad, just saying they changed.
The game already looked pretty good. I can only noticed some better metalic effects, some extra shadows, and some extra contrast in some textures, but tbh I don't know what else they'd improve.
Better trees, and power lines cast shadows now! Amazing, just what every driving game needs, cause I'm always focussing on everything but the road and car!
"Night time races are much brighter now" Thanks! That's all I want from my night. Day. What a piss-poor excuse of a remaster, fucking nightlight robbery.
I dont mind the changes, I loved this game 10 years ago on the 360 and now I can finally get it on my new PC, however to me the most important feature of this game is crossplay to play with any of your friends which is what I was really looking forward to, the servers of the original Hot Pursuit are dead anyways. I can see that if you already owned this game it might not be worth it. That's my take.
man, when you said it was a originally released 10 years ago I was very confused cause I knew I played the original in the late 90s early 00s. So the one you called the original was the NFS series first remaster which came out in 2010 almost exactly 10 years after the original NFS III: Hot Pursuit, which I find funny that they remastered the remaster almost 10 years later again!
The only thing I will say is that the Weapons GUI along with the rear-view mirror colors and minimap looks so much better in HPR. Other than that, it's the same.
Saw it for sale at Steam, I think the soundscape is a bit more lively. Seems like a mixed bag for the graphics. I think forcing AA from the drivers would make the old one look better than the new one. But it seems the lighting is a bit better on the new one. Though the damage looks awful compared to the old. A few of those deep scratches look cool on the sides, but mostly out of place...
Thanks for the detailed look into the remaster of NFS HP, I loved the game back then and played hell out of it. After the review I am quite disappointed by the lack of improvements in comparison to the original! And I really don’t understand why there’s no remaster of NFS underground, underground 2, nfs hot pursuit (2002) or most wanted from 2005.
@@Carman670 hey thanks for the info, too bad they lost so many licenses. The SLR Stirling Moss was one of the most outstanding cars for me in the original. It just sucks that EA is still selling half-assed games but somehow they manage to be successful with that strategy.
By the way, this may sound surprising, similarly to GTA V being on 3 console generations, NFS Hot Pursuit is also on 3 console generations (PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Wii, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch).
Do you realize that ain’t happening? Mainly because EA is lazy and if they weren’t they would still not be able to remaster or remake those due to various reasons I’m not able to tell
I’m not sure if this is only on the Switch version, but they actually broke a lot of things when porting it over that worked fine on X360. The colour filter on the maps have been reversed between teams for example, and there’s typos in mission descriptions that weren’t there before
Folks are so worried about the little differences and I’m just glad they brought this game out for the Xbox one because this one and part 2 were my favorite racing games as a kid and I didn’t even realize it was going to be the exact same so that was a relief for me as far as the controls and the whole concept of the game instead of making it extra complicated like forza because I don’t even know where to begin or where to go sometimes on that game it’s like endless and on his game I like the way you unlock a road and a next race on each road after each completion. Simple and plain Jane I love it. Just like the original.
Remaster potential: should have working interior lights, animated softop roof, glowing brakes, dirty paint, working wiper. Sounds too much but i believe that what it should have been for Remaster. Nfshp 10 is also about details of the car, besides World 2010 had working interior lights, Shift glowing brakes, MW12 dirty paint so hp10 remaster should be better from those games

So, the original one is better value and still the one to buy. EA is no more the EA that we knew, it's €A.
Huh? Did they really snitch out cars from this one to sell later as DLC??
Haha like your joke

That is the problem today with some remasters. Games like this one and spiderman ps4 remaster for ps5 for example are not remasters. They are ports. Its like calling gta v for ps4 back when it came out for the console a remaster but its not. Its a port with a little better graphics and taking adavange of the console features.
Actually spiderman on ps4 is pretty different. I mean some of the character models changed, they don't even look like the original. Not saying it's bad, just saying they changed.
Are you dump

@@drpepp. a little bit like everyone. You?
@@justsomelochnessmonsterony8265 yeah. At least now we can play it at 60fps and raytracing. We cannot say the same with this Nfs remaster
Thank you for exposing this lazy excuse for a remaster. What a joke.
Yep
Buy Burnout Paradise instead
@@yesfiraswa but I don’t like burnout. Plus I don’t have a pc or Xbox to play the original
The game already looked pretty good. I can only noticed some better metalic effects, some extra shadows, and some extra contrast in some textures, but tbh I don't know what else they'd improve.
I'd love if EA made a remaster of the remaster. Looking forward to playing this with modern graphics
Better trees, and power lines cast shadows now! Amazing, just what every driving game needs, cause I'm always focussing on everything but the road and car!
It’s funny how you have to have a closer look to really notice a difference. Incredible
EA: crack the brightness and contrast , perfect
"Night time races are much brighter now"
Thanks! That's all I want from my night. Day.
What a piss-poor excuse of a remaster, fucking nightlight robbery.
Fun fact: the Dodge vipers sound is still a v8 than a v10 in the remaster
Actually they do have some "V10 sound" but it is barely heard unless if you extract it and that is the deccel sound. Plus the Evo X uses R34 Skyline.
2010s isn’t a remaster though. It’s a “reboot” with the same name
The 2010 version is most likely a reboot of the original Hot pursuit.
"Let's make some details a liitle brighter and call it remaster"
2010: 5L v10=500hp
2020: 3.2L v6=500hp
The only thing I will say is that the Weapons GUI along with the rear-view mirror colors and minimap looks so much better in HPR. Other than that, it's the same.
Paying a premium for ultra settings, sometimes. Nah, I'll pass.

This game is extremely nostalgic me and my brother use to play this when we only had one Xbox. Which kept me and him very happy.
The sound in remastered isn't plain. it has echoes in the tunnel, doppler effect, engines sound echoing, loudness increasing and decreasing at places
Well that's an improvement
wow, they did a good job at remastering the online features
Thanks for the detailed look into the remaster of NFS HP, I loved the game back then and played hell out of it. After the review I am quite disappointed by the lack of improvements in comparison to the original!
And I really don’t understand why there’s no remaster of NFS underground, underground 2, nfs hot pursuit (2002) or most wanted from 2005.
@@Carman670 hey thanks for the info, too bad they lost so many licenses. The SLR Stirling Moss was one of the most outstanding cars for me in the original. It just sucks that EA is still selling half-assed games but somehow they manage to be successful with that strategy.
this ain't a remaster, it's a port.
literally
Exactly
You don't know the definition of port kiddo
@@imjonathan6745 EA doesn't know a definition of a remaster

The anti analysis settings on Original always had your grafics card settings. If it's off on your grafics card, it's off in game.
By the way, this may sound surprising, similarly to GTA V being on 3 console generations, NFS Hot Pursuit is also on 3 console generations (PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Wii, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch).
And tekken 7 Lol and they all have their own shitty remaster

Do you realize that ain’t happening? Mainly because EA is lazy and if they weren’t they would still not be able to remaster or remake those due to various reasons I’m not able to tell
Hot pursuit 2010. Best game racing i played.
It really is good. Not my favorite racing game but definitely my favorite need for speed game.
This is actually painfully underwhelming.
For a 2010 game, the graphics still looks godlike
Well, at least we got all the DLCs.
