Totally different animal That was a real body on frame RWD with 4WD option with the VQ 40 motor. This new one is better then the bathtub it replaces but still has weak ground clearance and still a unibody FWD. Just a better looking soccer mom SUV. But still better then the bathtub it replaces. Power is still inadequate and no faster then the CVT it replaces. Nissan needs to put their boosted 3.0 motor into this and bring up much needed torque.

@@nissanusa Yep, I bought Nissan Altima 2011. It was nice for 9 years with 240000 KM. I am disappointed because I was care of it too much. I was changing oil every 5000 km. Buying only the original parts. After that time the engine suddenly start to smoke white. I have tried everything to use my car as long as possible, even I have changed the engine 3 times with no avail, the smoke return back after using for 2 months. Sorry but from there's no trust in the quality any more.

That nice gauge cluster is only available on the top platinum trim and cannot be optioned on any other trim. The other issue is the ground clearance is weak. They show it off road but you can't clear very much. It still wants tar sealed roads. You better believe it. I'm glad they got the ZF 9 speed but the ZF 8 speed would have been better and is a much better shifter. The last issue I have is that the primary drive is still FWD. Its a step in the right direction but there are better options. IMO, the new ford explorer got it right going back to RWD and with the boosted 3.5 will perform circles around this thing. The 3.5 is a great motor buts its getting a bit long in the tooth. Nissan needs to start boosting their motors in their trucks and SUV's to bump up much needed torque. The Frontiers new 3.8 DI motor is also a step in the wrong direction. Torque has gone down hitting the same number at a HIGHER RPM. This is going the wrong direction Nissan.

You might as well buy a Kia that catch on fire while in your garage. And then buy your kids a Tesla that has many issues like car fires and some of their components are not bolted down. The you will all complain later down the road when you are broke down in the middle of nowhere and a convict helps you out.
