It's literally a pleasure to the senses.
I agree! I can't stop watching this or listening to it. This should be played everywhere.
That's New Orleans Baby!!! 😊😊😊😁😘

Now that's soul, black soul, that's the way they dance in Louisiana. My kind of music that makes even the cripple want to get up and shack that back side. I enjoy all of your music videos, especially this one. Thanks, Mr. Batiste, for bringing joy, laughter and body-movement into our lives. WELL, DONE Mr. Soul Man. 01-30-24.

As a disabled person with autoimmune arthritis and just leaving the hospital with pneumonia, this video rocked my world. I wish I had taken time to appreciate the movement and freedom to breathe. Now sitting here watching this video I can’t take my eyes off of all of you. Jon this video is so uplifting that I cannot stop watching it. Thank you. @@1...MusicVideo hello A1!!!
I love that these folks are real sizes and shapes and faces of people- NOT models.
His concert was phenomenal in Atlanta at Tabernacle! Do NOT miss an opportunity to see him live!
My mom is buried in New Orleans and I was missing her A LOT today. You Tube recommended this video to me. I think this is my mom's way of telling me she is good. Love you mommy!💓
That’s so great. Thanks for sharing this 😀
Bri, you are so sweet!! I lost my mom to COVID last November, and your comments touched my heart. 💕❤️ Sending you and your dear mom loving thoughts from NC! 🥰🙏
That is so beautiful. I lived in New Orleans for twelve years and I promise your Mother is resting in a beautiful place. ❤
Heavenly shout out to Moms. She's smiling down on you Bri...still looking out for her little girl. My mom is up there with her.
I think about how much my mom would've loved Jon Batiste every time I listen to him, too. Just such a great spirit
No lie, I'm here after the Grammys--because I'd never heard of this guy before. But after listening this song (and I'll check out a few more on his channel for sure), he DESERVED the win! His music is good!!!!
Me too
So TRUE!!! Hat's off Sir Jon Batiste :D
🤣
So true he deserved!!
Yep, me too
This is how we should all wake up in the morning!!
This is literally one of the happiest things I've seen in my life
I first heard this song from my next door neighbors. He is an older gentlemen and his wife passed in early 2020. His family comes over on Sundays and they blast music in their driveway and have a dance party with mostly gospel music or jazz. My family and I always dance in our driveway with them and that's when I heard this song. I really loved it and now I'm a big fan of Jon Batiste. Thank you to my neighbors!
Very talented man ! I've watched him for awhile and saw him finally become the best in his music. It's so refreshing ! Love his dancing too.!
Wish I lived in your neighborhood!. Rock on and keep dancing. I am soon to be 70 and would love someone like your neighbor!
That's a cool story, happy you dance with em!!
@@bluewaters3100 me too - I'm that "old guy" out front with the JBL speaker blasting the new tunes like this! But my neighbors just sit inside!

Those suits are killer. The wardrobe, the colors, the creativity, and more make my heart swell with happiness

I LOVE this video SO MUCH! I moved to New Orleans a few years ago, and this video captures the spirit of this place so perfectly!
Just the other night, Jon Batiste came to my neighborhood to play at a small, but very famous, music venue, the Maple Leaf. It sold out before anyone heard about it, but we went down just to catch a glimpse of this genius as he got out of the car to go in, and we did! It was a thrill!
The whole neighborhood turned out, there were people selling barbecue and drinks on the street! So NOLA.

I am from the New Orleans area, and this video perfectly captures the true essence of the city. The vibrant colors represent many of the city's traditions. So true Lisa, Jon's intelligent and soulful joy in every aspect of New Orleans history and culture is irresistible. He embodies the eccentricity, the swagger, the unique style and charisma of the place, with dignity, grace and humour. So much fabulous work from Jon and his brilliant band members over the last few months - loved his tiny desk performance, his jazz ensemble, his beautiful intertwined national anthems, and that terrific blast "tell the truth". What a fantastic ambassador for the city of New Orleans.
The shot at the 48 second mark, of Jon leaning on a car underneath the interstate, with the painting of Alan Toussaint behind him, is a place I drive by every day on my way to work. The marching band featured in the video is, I believe, the St. Augustine High School marching band. And the young lady standing in front of the oak trees is someone I follow on Facebook, who's carrying on the Mardi Gras Indian tradition.

got to be honest, didn't know who he was until he won album of the year at the Grammy's. I'm now OBSESSED. Totally deserved it!!!!!!!
So am I, haven't stopped watching -- and now will have to stay up late and watch Colbert.
See and hear him nightly on the Late Show!
Same here!
never heard of him until the Grammy! my husband knew about him from the late night show!!! I just love his stuff!!!
This gives me “Happy” by Pharrell vibes and I mean that in the best way because that was an amazing song! The direction of the video, and the choreography really showcased freedom of movement and expression. Very well done Jon! 🎼
I agree, it reminded me of "Happy" and scenes of people dancing all over the world.
@@adriennelee6371 💯 percent!!
It reminded more of New Orleans music.
Oh man so true! Totally makes me smile 😀
I feel the spiritual ties that echo the vibes of our ancestor "James Brown" classic groove anthem. SAY IT LOUD I'm BLACK &PROUD!!
this song brings out pure JOY!!!!! Thank you Jon!
This song and video is now my go to a happy place when I’m feeling down . It’s been a rough season the last two years as music like this is much needed for these troubling times. Thanks Jon for this awesome performance and talented group of people for making the world a happy place again!
I get it. Peace.
Yes, this is great, but what I love about it is that you can really see Jon's individuality, character, charm, positivity and personality comes through in this. He is a bright light in this world and I love to see him let it shine!
So happy that he is making success outside of late show. Not everyone who come from late night back up bands can transition to solo artists. And he is keeping his music so cultural.
He was a well known jazz artist before late show.
@@StarinthewingsNews Commercially I really did not know him until his late night national broadcast gig. Good that the got the extra boost and did not allow the authentic artist in him get snuffed out.
Beautiful! Joyful! Amazing!
I love this song! It gets me dancing in the middle of my kitchen. How can you not join in the dance party. So good! Thanks for sharing!
