Long story short, this song is sort of a fairy tale song about playing hide-and-seek with an Oni, which is a sort of ogre demon from Japanese folklore.
I'm a 51 year old grumpy American guy and I had the same confused reaction as you when I watched my first BABYMETAL video back in 2016! But I am now a huge BABYMETAL fan and have been listening to their songs DAILY since 2019.🤘🦊🤘
Yeah I'm 45 and never heard of Babymetal till here recently. I never even heard all these bands till I started my reaction channel. I was the 80-90s rock bands type guy. I'm sure I'm gonna need to sit down and buckle up for ride. If you have a certain song you'd like me to react to let me know.
Welcome to the Foxhole; it's called that because BM's patron deity is the Fox God. You haven't taken the red pill or the blue pill yet, but if you taken the BM pill you'll find an amazing new world. FYI the video you just watched was a compilation of various live performances between the years 2013 and 2017 ish when the girls (Su, Moa and Yui) were in their early to mid teens. The backing band is called The Kami Band and is formed from some of Japan's best performers. The idea for Babymetal first formed in the mind of Kei Kobayashi (a producer at the Amuse talent agency) when he heard Suzuka Nakamoto singing with a short lived group called "Karen Girls" and thought that her voice would mix well with a metal backing. So when she joined Amuse's school themed idol group, Sakura Gakuin, in 2010, Kobayashi put his plan into action. Part of SG's conceit was that the girls had school clubs and they would sing songs based on those clubs and Kobayashi formed the "Heavymetal Club" with Su and two other girls, Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi. They became so successful that in 2013 they were spun off as a separate group called Babymetal and now fill major arenas. "Catch Me if You Can" is superficially about a playground game where the tagger is called the Oni (a Japanese ogre). Oni are used by parents to scare children into good behaviour and also appear in some regional Spring festivals. They are one of the thousands of kamis or supernatural beings that the Japanese honor. The Oni-san growls if Yui and Moa are ready and they reply "No not yet". BM's dance mimes running away and hiding. Then the lyrics mention that it's "dangerous to go out in red shoes" which is a line from a children's poem, that all Japanese know, about a young girl wearing red shoes who is stolen away by foreigners. So we have lyrics about childhood fears and boogie men; this really is playing on child hood fears of losing their parents and being taken away. Of course it's also a great heavy jam with the Kamis shinning and Su, Moa and Yui performing their hearts out in the live concert clips. We know that the clip of Ohmura (pink glitter guitar) is from Wembley because he includes a bit of Hubert Parry's "Jerusalem". Now take alokk at another early song like "Headbanger Legend 1997" or their latest "Metali".
Good feedback and welcome to the BabyMetal galaxy. The most common reaction when first seeing this group is "what the hell am I looking at?" and "It shouldn't work, but it does." So don't worry if you've been confused...we all are at first. In this song they play hide and seek with an Ogre (Ogres in Japanese mythology are Onis, which means Devils, but not like western ones) Babymetal are the 3 girls. The band you have seen is a backing band called Kamiband (the band of the gods) who only play at concerts and are world class musicians as you have seen. The girls started when the singer was 12 years old and the dancers were 10 years old. Currently around 25 years old, SuMetal and 23 MoaMetal (the third girl had to leave the group due to medical problems) are the most important Japanese heavy metal group in Japan today (the most influential, not the best, which is already criterion of each one) and the most influential in the history of the West. They have 4 albums: Babymetal (2013): Their first album. They were between 15-13 years old when they published it and many of their songs, like this one you just saw, I would define as children's, since the audience it was initially aimed at were girls between 10 and 15 years old. However, his fame and success crossed that public, reaching the Asian metalhead public and later, part of the West. Metal Resistance (2016): With an age between 17 and 15 years old, this album shows a little more evolution and maturity, although part of the childhood essence of the group's birth can still be seen. With this album they began to succeed outside of Asia. Metal Galaxy (2018): between the ages of 20 and 18, our girls had already evolved from childish music to a much more mature one that sought to experience the fusion of metal with other musical genres, such as hip-hop, Indian music , electronic music or European folklore. Here they were already fully established, with huge numbers of fans and, of course, detractors all over the world. Ther Other One (2023): the last recently released album where, once again, his music has undergone an evolution, which personally still has me a bit out of place... In short, a group that does not leave you indifferent and, very important, no song is the same as another.
Yeah I did not expect at all for those 3 kids to be the band. When you think metal of course I'm old I'm thinking 20+. Thanks for all the info. I'm definitely gonna do more reactions to them.
May I recommend Headbanger live at Legend 1997, the lead singer's 16th birthday concert. They are incredibly consistent, every song is a banger, no fillers just killers. Also, always watch them live, they were born to perform on stage.
@@rawchickenreactions6826 To be fair, they are all 20+ now, lol, and still going strong, in fact experiencing a bit of a revival with an all-new member and an all-new album, not to mention an all-new song just released a few weeks ago featuring Tom Morello! I'm looking forward to seeing them next month in St. Louis! I saw them in 2016 in Chicago, when it was still the lineup in this video. If you remember in the first verse of this video, one of the girls (Moa) slid between the legs of the lead singer (Su) - those are the two still remaining of the original lineup. The third girl Yui left in 2018 for health reasons, and was officially replaced by Momoko, who served as a back-up dancer from 2018-2023, but was elevated to a full member just a few months ago.
@@rawchickenreactions6826 It will take a bit for your brain to rewire. The girls are something unique. The lead singer started out singing Anime songs so that is why the girls are tough little badasses fronting a Metal band at age 12.
Babymetal is not your regular metal band for sure ! It takes on average some 3 songs/videos/reactions to really get what they are about. Good luck on your journey, subbed.
I appreciate the Sub and I appreciate someone understanding that it does take time to settle into a band you've never even heard of. It's a different band but in a good way.
No worries about being lost. When I first saw one of their performances, I was like wide-eyed and slack-jawed, "I don't know what to do with that". But as you see more and learn what's going on there, it definitely grows on you. I'm a 53 year old life long metalhead and I love them to pieces.
I'm 45 and yeah it took me by suprise when those kids walked on stage and started singing. Thought I was being 'Punkd' I jammed to Catch Me on way to work this morning
@rawchickenreactions6826 I'm 50. I'm learning Japanese because of Babymetal. That is a bad translation. The song is much more complex than that. I think what it's doing is that it's being ambiguous. Is this a children's game or are they actually running from a monster? It's very Japanese to be ambiguous. I appreciate that. We don't need everyone's opinion on everything.
Well I understand but also everyone has a different interpretation of something. I understand what you're saying though. I guess if we heard it from the creator of the song we'd all know what they were referring to
@@rawchickenreactions6826 it's referring to Japanese children's games. That much is indisputable. The games involve Oni. In the game that is like tag instead of being 'it' they are the Oni. Oni are monsters that eat children. It says Oni like 20 times in the song. If you want to learn everything you need to know about Oni watch the first episode of 'The Promised Neverland'. It's pretty dark. There are orphans who find out that all the children are being eaten by Oni when they leave the orphanage. That it's really a farm.
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥 Great song to start this BM journey into the wild depths of joyful kawaii metal and meet this unique group that is having everyone gone wild and they never cease to amaze us. No, you're not going crazy, you're watching a live compilation covering shows from 2013 to 2017, that's one of the reasons we (most of us) always try to warn reactors to stay away from live compilations, not only is confusing for reactor and got them stay away from the experience and also missing a lot of more details instead of watching the original clip, especially when there are some safe to react such in this case, no matter what you heard from other comments, try to stay away from live compilations as much as you can at least until certain songs that are heavily blocked even with filters and logo covering the clip. But yea, the only benefit you get from these live comps are being not blocked but even with that isn't always a guarantee. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24. *YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st recently. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. CMIYC is one of those songs showing that kawaii metal side, i mean how many songs do you know about playing hide&seek with a mythological Japanese creature human flesh eater? This is heavy af.👹👀 They got more than 60+ songs to enjoy including the newest released just a week ago along with the living legend Tom Morello, but there's no need to rush yet. I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get some of those clips usually safe to react and fans favorite if YT let me do it, as well the live at Budokan 2014 version of this song. Hope to see you next time with more BM songs and enjoy your ride into the Foxhole.🦊🤘🔥

What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until this year unlike the other one. ruclips.net/video/9X5vj1-Sg_4/видео.htmlsi=E2RnB1cAW9N9RLmT 🦊🤘
@@rawchickenreactions6826Nice, I'll be looking for more, forgot to tell Glastonbury live is also a no no, clips are safe but the sound mix is crappy, the girls always shine as always but you'll find better version than Glastonbury.👍
Nice one. Don't blame you for being confused, this was a compilation video. As long as you are interested enough to follow on from this, you will find many interesting videos of their live performances. My recommendation for the next reaction would be Headbanger Live from the Legend 1997 concert. This concert is NOT from 1997 but is a celebration of the lead singers birth year, it's from 2013, the day after her 16th birthday and the other 2 girls were 14 at the time. Only just 16 and 14 and already filling stadiums.
You just found Japan's #1 International Band!! They went from a sub-unit of an all girls idol group back in 2010 to hitting #1 in the USA in 2019 on Billboards "Top Rock Album" chart and just recently released their 4th Album!! Best Damn Kawaii Metal Band in the Land!! Put your Kitusne UP!! Po!
Clarification, they’re playing tag/hide and seek with demon like entity. Adorable yet gnarly. Like they’re Wednesday Addam’s cousins Also as someone who’s reacting to BABYMETAL for the first time, Road of Resistance Live in Japan is a good starting point Also it’s a live compilation so you’re not going crazy
13+ years ago, BABYMETAL's original idea was to make metal music that young girls could relate to, and their producer, Kobametal, who is a metalhead wanted to inject some youth into the weakening Japanese metal music scene at the time. The 3 girls were 11-12 years old when the group was formed, so of course their earlier songs like Catch Me If You Can (hide/seek with a demon), Doki Doki Morning (getting ready for school), Gimme Chocolate (wanting chocolate but worried about weight), Headbanger (15 year old's first metal concert) and Uki Uki Midnight (late night sleepover), etc were about young topics. Now that they are in their mid 20's, their song are more mature. BUT no matter the song topic, the music is ALWAYS heavy AF! 🤘🦊🤘
Confused is understandable. It will all become clear after you go several songs deeper. I subbed to see how many of their songs it takes to win you over. Kitsune dao!
This is a compilation video of several different concerts. BABYMETAL'S agency, Amuse, is very strict about copyright and is a bane to reaction channel everywhere. So this video is meant to fight against that by making it hard for the algorithm to pick up. As far as their ages, I'm not familiar with all of these. What I can tell you is that the concert set on a black and red circular stage, the one you'll see where the lead singer is on an elevated platform. That is Budakon 2014. Babymetal set a record that year for being the youngest band to ever perform at the prestigious invite only venue, Budakon. The average age of the girls was 14.7 years old. I originally said band, but I changed it to make it more clear. Officially though the musicians playing on stage are not part of BABYMETAL, they are session musicians who perform during live shows in Asia with the girls. In most of these concerts the lead singer would have been between 15-17 years old. The other 2 girls are 2 years younger than her roughly.
Yeah every song I do has a copyright on it but that's ok. Some that have a Copyright Strike is not allowed to be heard in some Countries. I do this for fun so it doesn't matter
they were 15 and 17 at this performance. It's about a game of tag/hide and seek. This is a compilation video from several different performances. No two songs are the same. Always be ready for that.
Good reaction, thank sand welcome to BABYMETAL. BABYMETAL is a fusion of metal with J-pop elements. It was formed originally in 2010 by Suzuka Nakamoto (the lead singer) as SU-METAL, Yui Mizuno as YUIMETAL and Moa Kikuchi as MOAMETAL both in charge of backing vocals and dance (they are not related). Yui left the group in 2018 due to undisclosed health issues, after not being able to perform since October 2017. In April 2023 they announced Momoko Okazaki as an official member. They are backed by a live band called Kami Band formed by a group of session musicians. They wear traditional burial robes and face paint, depicting the gods or spirit of each instrument. They changed to darker robes and masks in 2019 with the addition of a second set of the band formed by American musicians. No, you are not going crazy, this is a fan-made compilation from 10 different concerts. And it's very distracting in my opinion, not to mention that some visuals during the solos don't match the audio (specially during the first guitar solo) and that's not good. How old are they? It depends on the show you are looking at... from 2013 to 2016, So, Su-metal was 15 to 18, while Yui and Moa 14 to 17. They are currently 25 and 24. "Catch me if you can" is about playing hide and seek or tag, but with an "oni" a sort of Japanese ogre. It's definitely on their heavier side but the vocals and the choreo are extremely cute. It was also my very first BABYMETAL song and it blew me away. Well, at this point, you need to know that they are very diverse musically as they don't hesitate to mix any music genre with any metal sub-genre. Also that they have four studio albums but they are way better live (and specially on professionally edited videos). I just hope you're not too confused and continue on your BABYMETAL journey.. So, this is a good way to continue: "Headbanger" (Live at legend 1997): ruclips.net/video/QEsOaMbNFww/видео.html And my final advice: always expect the unexpected and prepare to be surprised. Until next time! 🤘🦊
I think they started j-pop style but very few of their songs feel like pop to me. I also think it's not really possible to label them as a specific style, they are just metal mixed with anything possible and each song is different, maybe we could call it "experimental metal" because they really try mixing whatever is possible. IMO "catch me if you can" is not the best example to start with Babymetal (it took me a while to get used to cute voices and start enjoying them, same experience that I had with screamo and growl when I was younger). There are more "normal" songs to try before you go into the very Babymetal specific ones. I would start with Syncopation, Akatsuki, No Rain No Rainbow, The One, Sis Anger, Megitsune, Amore, Road of Resistance. They are the most "normal" songs they have. Then you could move to songs like Awadama Fever, Yava, Tales of the Destinies, Pa pa ya. Then when you're kinda used to their uniqueness - maybe stuff like Ijime Dame Zettai, Headbanger, Catch me if You can, BxMxC, Onedari Daisakusen. And then you would be ready for the final boss - Doki Doki Morning. And after gathering some basic Babymetal knowledge, the best performance they have ever given - "Death" (then read what Death is about and watch again) is a must-watch if you go for Babymetal adventure.
Aaah, the shock and awe from experiencing Babymetal for the 1st time, priceless! This is the most brutally adorable song about a game of hide and seek (japanese version). 🤣😂 Completely meant to be a goofy and fun song. @rah2287 pretty much gave you a solid brief on Babymetal. This video is a compilation of various concerts from 2014 - 2017, cut together to avoid youtube copyright issues most likely. The massive arena (girls had black / gold outfits) was 2016 show at the Tokyo Dome, 55K sold out crowd two nights in a row. They were big in Japan, then made it onto the world metal stage at 2014's Sonisphere in UK, infront of ~50 - 60K UK metal heads who had no clue who they were. As of this moment, they are touring US with Dethklok. Babymetal is a heavy hitter, collaborated on songs with Dragonforce, Sabaton, Polyphia, Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy, and most recently, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine (song released a few days ago!). They've also played on stage with Korn, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and did Judas Priest's cover songs with Rob Halford himself. As of today, they are 13 years in the show biz, ~10 years of world tours, and did their first song at 12 / 11 years old. I hope you do more Babymetal, they are awesome! 🤘🦊🤘🦊
Welcome to the Fox Hole... every song they do is different. Currently on world tour. If you want to see more of the Kami band behind the girls check out my Babymetal list below. 1. Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (best live show highlighting the kami band, invite only arena, Ozzy played here before, this song is more of a heavy ballad instead of their heavy/edm metal mixed with cheering type songs they do here and there. 2. Megitsune (probably their best song all time, get a little bit of everything here, music video recommend on this one over live). 3. Pa pa ya live 4. Headbanger 1997 live 5. Road of Resistance live in Japan (probably their most iconic live show just because of the crowd alone) 6. Mirror mirror (new album) 7. Monochrome official lyric video(new album) 8. Maya (new album) 9. BMTH - ft. Babymetal (probably my most replayed BabyMetal song)
So you're saying I've got myself in a deep foxhole. I'll write these down and start reactions as time progresses. I'm so far behind in my reactions lol
Good first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊Don't worry, most peoples' first reaction is along the lines of "what am I watching, the sounds and the visuals don't match". Give it another two or three songs and you'll get over that. What you have found is one of the best and the most entertaining live bands on the planet (they have international awards to prove that is not just my opinion). They formed in 2010 so you have a lot of catching up to do. They started as a sub-unit of a school themed J-Pop Idol group called Sakura Gakuin which was set up by the Amuse talent agency as a way to coach and train about a dozen of the most talented girls on their books in all aspects of entertainment (singing, dancing, acting, modelling, writing, stage management, TV presenting etc) with a view to their choosing how they would like to continue their career when they were at school leaving age (15 in Japan). BABYMETAL was the pet project of one metalhead producer who was inspired to experiment with this fusion of Metal with JPop aesthetics after seeing Su-metal (the lead singer) singing with her previous JPop trio and being very impressed with her no holds barred singing style and stage presence - she was only 10 or 11 at that time. He pictured her fronting a metal band and got his chance to work with her when her previous group ended and she joined Sakura Gakuin - she was 12. In 2013 Su would be 15 and would graduate from Sakura Gakuin (having the school theme it was for girls aged 10 to 15), but it was decided that BABYMETAL should be her vehicle as she furthered her career as a vocalist (not forgetting her two very good and also very talented friends Yui and Moa, their role was crucial to making BABYMETAL original and unique) and should separate from the Idol group to go with her as an independent band in their own right. They are Su-metal (lead vocalist), Moametal and, since the start of April this year, Momometal (backing vocals, harmonies but mainly in charge of dance, leading the audience, getting everybody involved and joining in) ... their role is just one of the things that makes them stand out from other bands and it is key to how they control audiences of thousands and have done so from a very early age ... their choreo is designed for the crowd to take their cue and follow their lead when to jump, shout, pump their fists, chant etc. This is not the meaningless dancing with scantily clad girls (or boys) mincing round doing the same old standard moves taken from the grab-bag of dance to fill the stage and to take your mind off bland music that you may be familiar with from American, European or Korean pop acts. The third original member, Yuimetal, sadly left the band in October 2018 having been absent from the stage for the previous 12 months. She had ongoing (and undisclosed) health issues. After Yui left Su and Moa chose to continue as a duo for the next 4 - 5 years through to their 10th anniversary in 2020 and a bit beyond, supported by 3 dancers (the Avengers Riho, Kano and Momoko) taking turns dancing in the third spot. Momoko was the only remaining Avenger from about March 2020 and was finally revealed as the official new third member at concerts on 1st and 2nd April this year. BABYMETAL really are unique in that they invented their own genre and their own way of doing things. Do not try to categorise them as just one thing or to put them in any one box. You will not be able to predict them, just expect the unexpected. They don't copy anybody or follow the same format as nearly every other band we've been watching and listening to for the last 6 decades (as you saw for a start they have brought choreographed dance to metal ... something I absolutely never thought metal needed before I found them). Yes, they could just have Su-metal singing and the Kami Band playing the instruments, but then it would just be another band like all the others - a band with exceptional musicians and an incredible vocalist, but same old format as virtually every other band. What BABYMETAL are is original, innovative and unique. Nobody has been able to do what BABYMETAL do (some have tried, none came close). They are supported in live shows by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians, each one of them a world class instrumentalist. Kami means god or spirit, so they are the gods of guitar, bass and drums summoned from the dead to support BABYMETAL (which explains the white burial robes and corpse face paint ... since late 2017 the robes are black and the face paint was replaced with masks). There are many people who have played in the Kami Band as they all have their own bands or other commitments and they swap in and out depending on their availability, but the same hard core of about 6 musicians have played the vast majority of concerts and they are the ones you will see in most live performance videos. In this video you saw Mikio Fujioka (RIP Jan 2018) and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH with his 6 string bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. The Kami Band became the full time support for all live shows at the start of 2014 and have been with BABYMETAL ever since - but only for live shows, they do not record the studio versions. The Kami Band of the West - American musicians - have supported BABYMETAL in the more extended foreign tours since 2019. They have about 60 songs now, each one different to the last, they have songs in virtually every metal genre but will also mix and blend so many other musical styles and genres with the metal. Some songs are good hard metal, some lean towards their pop roots and they do everything in between. I don't know where you got the translation, but it was very bad (and a lot gets lost in the translations at the best of times). 'Catch Me If You Can' is the best song about playing a game like a mix of hide & seek blind man's bluff and tag that I know of ... but they are playing it with an Oni (a sort of Japanese ogre👹). The growls are on backing track - that was the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da ya" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃♀🏃♀🏃♀👹 The video itself was a fan made compilation with clips from a lot of different concerts (from about 2012 through to 2017 I think) which is why the stage designs and costumes kept on changing. I will suggest the live Legend 1997 concert performance of 'Headbanger' for another reaction. Legend 1997 was in December 2013, the day after lead vocalist Su-metal's 16th birthday. Gans Tomas or abr metal both have high quality videos of that performance that are safe to use for reactions. Alternatively the official 'Road of Resistance' live in Japan (Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song) is a great performance and shows the control they have over a big crowd.
I didn't realize at the time it was an old video. Then again I had never heard of Babymetal till just recently. Thanks for the list of reactions request.
Great first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘 Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the original 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too. Also, they are currently on another world tour that includes many dates here in the USA, and released a new amazing album just a few months ago! 🤘🦊🤘
Yeah I love solos when it comes to instrumentals. The band was amazing and I'm sure I'm gonna enjoy alot more as time progresses. I have to do reactions on my days off from work. So be patient with me 😉
I truly appreciate it. Some folks don't understand when you're truly watching something for the very first time you sit there with multiple facial expressions and multiple head scratches. Trying to figure out lyrics, who's who, and really enjoying & understanding what the music is all about. The instrumental was top knotch too
Seems they 'caught' you ;-) They caught me in Feb 2020 and it's been a hell of a journey and I ain't stopping. So glad you liked them!! You're gonna love them. Great reaction! You're right! You can't catch up to them. 🙂 Subscribed! You watched a compilation. They're all that good. NONE of us had any idea...just happy I clicked on them one day.
Welcome to FOXHOLE Estás entrenando en el maldito Abismo y no hay escapatoria. Babymetal es una de los mejores espectáculos audiovisual del mundo. Babymetal te guste o no te guste, a cambiado el metal #notacult
@@rawchickenreactions6826 I am a veteran who grew up with music from the 70's and 80's and I can tell you that it is the best band in the last 20 years..... It's funny that you talk about Metallica... Kei Kobayashi, producer composer genius creator of Babymetal, is a fan of Metallica, so there are usually tributes and references to them... Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) lead vocals was less than 12 years old when she was told she would be part of the band, the first thing she teaches Kobayashi is Metallica, since then she's a fan..... Babymetal opened for Metallica during their Japan tour, the first time they saw them perform they were shocked.
Welcome to one of the best live bands in the world atm - nearly every track a banger and guaranteed different from any other track 😁 This is the must brutal version of a hide and seek song with ogres you're likely to hear in your life 😂
Yeah I was told about that. That Babymetal folks are really strict on the Copyrights so someone went and edited multiple concerts up to create that one
Meanwhile….in Japan👊🏽⚡️🦊🤘🏾 Good first reaction🫡. Your not crazy. This is a compilation of many live shows. Babymetal’s label (Amuse) is tough on reactors so a compilation is one way around their incessant strikes and blocks. There are you tube channels that post videos that are made for reactors with versions of songs that are (or have been) safe for reactors.
Glad I found this reaction today! Thanks RawChicken! Confusion is a common thread running through 1st time listeners. It seems to take around 3 Babymetal songs to get your 'ears' wrapped around their songs, so I hope you had a good time on your first listen. Took me 5 songs, personally. Hope they can bring you as much joy as they have brought to me! If you're counting / listening to / taking requests for another, I've got one for ya. Babymetal - Karate (Budokan 2021 Live) Eng Sub 🤘🦊🤘
I appreciate you and yeah confusion was was definitely going on at the time. I was thinking the band playing at very beginning was Babymetal till those girls came out singing lol. I'm buckling down and will check out your request as fast as I can. I'm really behind right now lol
This was a compilation video using LIVE audio seamlessly edited with footage from multiple LIVE concerts to fool the algorithm and prevent blocking. As you can see no matter the venue the girls and the band give their all and the crowds know the words and chant along with appreciation. BabyMetal in my opinion is THE best LIVE group/band on the planet.
I'm sure I'll be finding out real soon. Till here recently I never heard of any metal bands from anywhere but the States. I lived in an eggshell my while life lol
this was the second babymetal song i ever heard, the first being their biggest hit "gimme chocolate". since then i've amassed a list of about 20 favorites, and add to it just about every week. the youtube channel "for the fox god" has lots of babymetal videos with english subtitles. even without the subtitles, babymetal's live performances are mesmerizing. they're also like eating peanuts, once you start you can't stop. keep watching, you wont regret it.
As I see the other comments, you have been given a great basic description of the group and its sound. So I will delve into some other parts. The Kami Band, whom you see on stage, are some of the finest session musicians in Japan, or anywhere else for that matter. The use of the word Kami is a term in the Japanese language that equates to spirits, gods, beings and so on, and the use of the white face paint and long black hair (some of the members use wigs and others have the long hair, as you have seen) is indicative of that. At any given time there are anywhere from 6 to 8 band members who are available for projects, and that was increased by 4 in 2019 I believe, by four members from the US who were formerly with Galactic Empire. So there is a Kami Band East and a Kami Band West as Baby Metal's popularity exploded and multiple tours became the rule rather than the exception. The band also does other projects with other artists, notably a collaboration with Yuko Suzuhana of Wagakki Band on her solo project "Cradle of Eternity". At the beginning they recorded the songs used by Baby Metal and there was a group of performers called The BabyBones who played air instruments on stage. This was because things were done on a shoestring at the outset. Once the group's popularity exploded, they pretty much became Bab Metal's official band. The members of the group were part of an idol group called Sakura Gakuin and that's where the man behind the band, Kei Kobayashi found the performers he wanted for his project, which was integrating J-pop themes with heavy metal. The three young ladies, Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-Metal), Moa Kikuchi (Moa-Metal) and Yui Mizuno (Yui-Metal), became the central core of what developed into the amazing phenomenon of Baby Metal. The girls being part of an idol group was extremely helpful, as they were used to the regimens associated with performing. Top flight Japanese choreographer Mikiko Mizuno was brought on to work with the girls. Their first music video was released in 2011, I believe, for the song Doki Doki Morning. At that time, Su was 14 and Moa and Yui were approximately 12. They look so young because they were quite young at the beginning of the group. You can really notice their youth in the first official music videos that were made. But it is always best to work with live videos, as they are at their best live. At the beginning, the metal "purists" derided them as a gimmick or novelty, but that soon changed, especially after their first live concert in Europe in England in 2014. Su-Metal has a generational type of voice that can cut through steel and is more than a match for the best out there today. The rest, as they say, is history. I'm 76 and was hooked after first watching "Headbanger" from the Legend 1997 Concert. There is a wealth of great music to listen to and they are must-see act. I'm seeing them live for the first time next month in NYC. And one important thing to remember is that their early songs were more in tune with their age group and might seem childish, but they are a delight to watch. I am always amazed at the great physical condition they are in to be able to sing while performing complex dance routines without losing a breath. I have heard that they practice by singing while running on a treadmill. Their cardio workouts must be a sight to see. Well, I'll shut up now as I tend to get carried away with myself. And if I have said anything in error, one of the esteemed will commenters will correct me. Welcome to the Foxhole and kitsune up !!!!!
Hey your free to speak just like everyone else. I have alot to learn. I never even heard of Asian heavy metal bands till I started reacting. I enjoy them even though I don't understand what they are saying. So please if you know it say it.
@@rawchickenreactions6826 Then you might want to check out X Japan, a real veteran Japanese group that started in 1982. A power/speed/symphonic metal band that has a long career in different iterations over the decades. I'm not completely sure, but I had heard that they had some contact with Baby Metal during the first years of the group. I recall seeing an interview with the ladies where they mentioned X Japan with a lot of fondness.
Babymetal are a surprise to EVERYBODY the first time they hear / see them but if you bear in mind that they have been on the go now for well over ten years and have either opened for , toured with or collaborated with some of the giants of Metal such as - Metallica - Chili Peppers - Korn - Guns N' Roses - Sabaton - Rob Halford ( Judas Priest ) and only a few days ago released a collaboration song with Tom Morello it gives you an idea of the respect there is for them in the industry among their peers . Well worth checking out more of their work - it's an eye opener . BTW - Babymetal is the 3 girls - the band is called the Kami Band
They've sold out a bunch of locations across North America for the tour that starts in Texas in a couple of days. You'll be surprised at just how huge they are even outside of Japan. Check out the new song Metali (featuring Tom Morello from RATM) to see what they look like now as opposed to 10 years ago when Catch Me If You Can came out.
Yeah I've got that on my list to react to. I've got a slew of request for Babymetal now. I do reactions on my days off so I'll try to do some on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Thanks for watching. And for sure am gonna do more. I usually do reactions on Tuesdays or Wednesdays on my off days from my job. I'm trying to keep up lol
👍 👍 BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons). Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol school/group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine. They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these for a start. I just wanted to comment again to deacribe my own experience and perspective of them. To me, they just make me smile and laugh. Their insane energy is infectious, and their messaging is inspiring and powerful. One of my favorite bands of all time now, and im 46 and just became a fan half a year ago. Also seeing them live in a few days twice in a row ❤
Well, it totally threw me off at first cause I assumed the band at the beginning was the band till the kids came out. Then I was informed that the concert was over 10 years ago lol. I've done another one. I should be putting out in a day or so
This is actually a great song for a first experience, and don't feel bad at all for being at a loss for words .. they were founded on the juxtaposition of sounds, dark truly heavy metal with high pitched kawaii "cute" vocals on top. They are a trip! They're in their mid 20s now, still kicking major ass and about to tour the US. The dichotomy of sounds has become a lot closer together and less jarring, partially since they have grown up and out of their little kid voices, partially because the music has become more rich and mature. They have a lot of different style sounding songs with awesome messaging, like playing hide and seek with a demon, to spreading awareness of how bullying destroys lives. Very powerful stuff.. hope you decide to check more out!
Ohhh I'm definitely going to. I've got alot of list I should react to. So I've got screen shots of them all lol. I'm still playing catch up with other request as well. I record roughly 10 videos on a Tuesday or Wednesday on my day off from work. I'm gonna post as fast as I can.
Nice pick for first timer. Do not confuse if you can. Heavy metal with many genre changes, but overall I can feel Hardcore vibes here. Reminds me of Slipknot on their first album with female & babies voice on top. They have done so many Heavy Metal sub genre. If you interested, here is my recommendation listed by genre : Speed/Power Metal - Akatsuki - Headbanger - Arkadia - Amore - Ijime Dame Zettai - Road Of Resistance Ballads - No Rain No Rainbow Japanese Rock - Syncopation Progressive Metal - Tales Of The Destinies - Rondo Of Nightmare - Believing - Mirror Mirror Hardcore - Catch Me If You Can Skacore - Yava Thrash Metal - Give Me Chocolate Metalcore - Divine Attack - Metal Kingdom - Megitsune - Monochrome - Starlight - Karate Black/Death Metal - Sis Anger - Death Nu Metal - BxMxC - GJ - Pa Pa Ya Industrial/Electronic/Trance - Maya - Metalizm - Iine - Headbanger Night Of 15 Mix See you on the next song.
Welcome to BABYMETAL, the one and only Kawaii (cute) metal band, who started in 2010 aged 12 and 11 and though many thought them a gimmick they are still going strong with 4 albums now and multiple world tours and coming to America in September appearing with Dethlok, just toured with Sabaton.
This is an older video. Probably AT LEAST 9 years old. They are playing hide and seek with an Ogre. The translation is not really indicative of the song. The lead singer SU, is now 25 years old. In this video I would say 16 years old and the 2 other girls MOA and YUI would be around 25 now. Yui has left the band and now Momoko is the new third member. They just did a song with Rage against the Machine member Tom Morello called Metali (2023). First video with new 3rd member she is 20 years old and actually has a kabuki solo in the video. Other newer songs would be, Syncopation, From Dusk till Dawn, Monochrome (there are 2 versions Live and First Take), Divine Attack, Light and Darkness, Metalized, Maya. Too many to name. Live versions of Road Of Resistance and Studio video of Megitsune are older songs. I'm 56 and found them recently and love them. You will find that there fans are very loyal and protective these girls. They have watched them grow up and bust there ass to be successful. Toured with Lady Gaga, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, Guns and Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers and others.
Dang and it's sad I've lived in an eggshell so long. I will definitely do alot more. I love live videos cause it shows the real talent of a band/singer.
BABYMETAL are one of the most unique metal experiences in the world right now coming from Japan 🇯🇵. Not only their appearances, and their styl,e and everything that surrounds them visually but they’re an incredible band as well and they’re so passionate about metal, they know everything about the metal music world 🌏 and they’ve created a very special feeling and experience within the entire metal community. They work extremely hard to create something unique for every community ranging from the young to old. Babymetal may not be everyone's metier but if you don't like fine. You may not like them but respect them. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult.
They have storyline, usually for the performances. Try Ijime DameZettai (no more bullying forever). The journey down the Foxhole started in their early teens(Suzuka, Moa, Yui) with Sakura Gakuin. Hope you like them.
Also, check out a band called the Hooligans (Japanese group). Su-metal's dad, Chu Nakamoto. I think you'll know which one he is😅. They have a 70's US rock sound. Hope you enjoy it.
No the face paint was a misunderszood element of theirborigonal band. Their ate called Kami Band since Kami wss a word for Gods. They were a group of very good Session Musicians. They were taught not to observe that the were idols or little girls they had to spin zhe song and Su had to put her song through this smoke screen. As uthey explained later thede girls brought them to places they never dreamed to reach and girls answeredvthat zhey felt always protected.
It's perfectly normal to be confused when confronted with Babymetal because there is absolutely nothing else in the world like them, they are a genuine one of a kind. Unfortunately the translation you were looking at is a poor one that does not convey the intended meaning of lyrics well at all. Catch Me If You Can (or Kakurenbo as its known in Japanese) is about playing "hide and seek" and other children's games with an "oni" (a Japanese ogre). They were only 13 and 11 when it was released, so it's a kids song despite being so metal. This video is a bit confusing because its a compilation made up of performances ranging from 2013 to 2017, so their outfits and the venues do change during the clip.
Hahaha that's usually my luck find the wrong translation. The Oni I've actually played a card game called that. It's I believe about a demon also. I appreciate all the info and you taking the time to let me know
If you're going to do BabyMetal then you have to do BAND-MAID. I would start with an Official LIVE Video since that's where they shine. Try 'Domination' LIVE or 'Real Existence' LIVE. But if you want an Original Music Video try 'Unleash'. However, if you're more into Metal than Rock try something really heavy like, 'Rinne' or 'Black Hole'.
Welcome to the foxhole. As you have already noticed, Babymetal has a very large fan base that goes all over the world. A really great community. Please continue with Babymetal reactions. Best regards from Germany. Forever THE ONE 🤗❤🤘🦊🤘
Please check out some of their newer songs Mirror mirror monochrome Divine attack metel Kingdom and their newest song Metali featuring Tom Morello from rage against the machine
I definitely will. I screen shot this so I'd be able to write it down. It'll be a bit. I've already got a list to catch up on but I'll definitely try to sneak in some
It's a compilation video you mean you haven't noticed all the changes the different venues and different outfits until now when the video is almost over 😅
That's what I try to tell folks lol. I'm trying to hear the music & lyrics. But then you see 3 kids walk on stage you lose all thought and now trying to figure out what your watching lol
I honestly thought it was a good, very confused, and very genuine reaction. He gave them a shot, and did not seem horribly disappointed by his decision to do so.
It's rather close tot he vast majority of first time Babymetal reactions, the confused looks and such is what usually makes them so funny. Most of us fan were taken aback the first time we heard them as well. Sure, he didn't gush about them by the end, but Babymetal for sure isn't for everyone, and he didn't say anything negative.
Thanks for the defense everyone. Yes it truly had me confused but as I've listened to them with my wife they are very catchy. It takes more than 1 song to understand a bands history to now. Give me time 😆
@@rawchickenreactions6826 someone threw you in the deeper end of things to with this song, they could have put you on to a song like Syncopation and it still would have been very different from the norm, but is not quite as intense or cutesy, and they are older in the video. Check out "BABYMETAL | Syncopation「シンコペーション」| LIVE Compilation (HQ)" if you want to see a more middle of the road BM song.
This is a good comp video and the track over it is live,as on old metal head i have seen some bands in my time from DC to Slayer but the best live band i have ever seen is Babymetal, man these girls know how to put on a show 🦊
@@rawchickenreactions6826 The first time i seen them was at Sonisphere 2014 in the UK i had no idea who they were and neither did the other 55 thousand people(including 10000 Satan Slaves) who were mainly there to see Iron Maiden, for some reason Amuse thought it was a good idea to send them to the UK for their first big gig outside Japan, they were meant to be on one of the side stages but gimme chocolate had gone viral so they switched them onto the main stage. Well to cut a long story short 35 minutes later they had 55 thousand people including me screaming for more, they out sold everybody else in merch and had to get the gig in London moved to a bigger venue. It was a life changing moment for the crowd and the girls, not an easy crowd to win over singing in English never mind Japanese but they did it and i am privileged to have been there. 🦊
This song is early Babymetal going pedal to the metal. They'll be touring the US beginning Aug 30th and I'll be seeing 6 of their show's. Welcome to the Foxhole and buckle up because it's going to be a wild ride 🦊🤘
@@rawchickenreactions6826 yes indeed, I set up my vacation time to coincide for when they come out west for the tour I'll be able to go to 6 shows in 5 states 🦊🤘
Long story short, this song is sort of a fairy tale song about playing hide-and-seek with an Oni, which is a sort of ogre demon from Japanese folklore.
Yeah I was told that about the Japanese Ogre is not the same as what the States consider Ogres in Fantasy
I love you 11 year ikd american guy who likes BabyMetal
Welcome to the Foxhole; it's called that because BM's patron deity is the Fox God. You haven't taken the red pill or the blue pill yet, but if you taken the BM pill you'll find
an amazing new world.
That is crazy. I'll definitely check out this song. I've got alot of request now lol.
Good feedback and welcome to the BabyMetal galaxy.
The most common reaction when first seeing this group is "what the hell am I looking at?" and "It shouldn't work, but it does." So don't worry if you've been confused...we all are at first.
In this song they play hide and seek with an Ogre (Ogres in Japanese mythology are Onis, which means Devils, but not like western ones)
Babymetal are the 3 girls.
They have 4 albums:
Babymetal (2013): Their first album.
How is a song that is so heavy be so cute? They are playing hide and seek with a demon. Yeah, the growl voice is the demon.
Yeah the song is very very catchy. Just alot at first to figure out. I figured the band playing at first was Babymetal but boy was I wrong
"Excuse my face if I seem confused and a little...confused." This could be a t-shirt we hand out to first time reactions : D Love it. 4:58
Hahaha yeah it was hard to put together between the band playing at the beginning to the time those kids came out singing.
@minstrelblood9110 that's horrible lol. Yeah I've seen a card game called Oni but I'll try to find the anime. I've only watched Death Note.
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥
Great song to start this BM journey into the wild depths of joyful kawaii metal and meet this unique group that is having everyone gone wild and they never cease to amaze us.
They are:
*SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25.
This is heavy af.👹👀
They got more than 60+ songs to enjoy including the newest released just a week ago along with the living legend Tom Morello, but there's no need to rush yet. I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get some of those clips usually safe to react and fans favorite if YT let me do it, as well the live at Budokan 2014 version of this song.
Hope to see you next time with more BM songs and enjoy your ride into the Foxhole.🦊🤘🔥
Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions:
- Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast.
ruclips.net/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/видео.html
- Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo.
ruclips.net/video/g2372C5PJLM/видео.html
- Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014.
ruclips.net/video/dU38CYkpBvI/видео.html
- Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997.
ruclips.net/video/nwsinmxTxbo/видео.html
- Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one.
ruclips.net/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/видео.html
- Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014.
ruclips.net/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/видео.html
- Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do.
ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html
- Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs.
ruclips.net/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/видео.html
- Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday).
ruclips.net/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/видео.html
- Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.
ruclips.net/video/Yj-UQIlqsIQ/видео.html
If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is.
ruclips.net/video/ESzY9dL613Q/видео.html
- Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal.
ruclips.net/video/1dT1ywYR5So/видео.html
- Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014.
ruclips.net/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/видео.html
- Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro.
ruclips.net/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/видео.html
- Road Of Resistance live in Japan official, this one is easily to find but be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case.
- Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.
ruclips.net/video/M8FKumvh-w8/видео.html
Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo.
- GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song.
ruclips.net/video/Hg0Rylcg8F0/видео.html
This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list.
ruclips.net/video/q40VmTHSh4c/видео.html
And here's a BM guide (the long one).
ruclips.net/video/gDne0xwniTg/видео.html
There's a more recent beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until this year unlike the other one.

Really!! I'm sooo old. They've been out this long and I've just heard about them
@@rawchickenreactions6826 Don't worry about it, I was older than you when I first heard them.
Po!
Yeah I see I'm in for one hell of a ride
Clarification, they’re playing tag/hide and seek with demon like entity. Adorable yet gnarly. Like they’re Wednesday Addam’s cousins
Also as someone who’s reacting to BABYMETAL for the first time, Road of Resistance Live in Japan is a good starting point
Also it’s a live compilation so you’re not going crazy
I've got this down for a reaction coming up. I'm glad I'm not going crazy cause the white in my beard was giving me away
not this guy. wow I have never see someone stop so much and act like this...LOL
@@ScottGenX was I doing something wrong?
@rawchickenreactions6826 not in my opinion!👍
They are a lot older now, you have a great journey ahead of you, catching up on their music.. :)
So true!
Yeah I see I have a ton to catch up on. Thanks for letting me know of their history
Confused is understandable.
It will all become clear after you go several songs deeper.
I subbed to see how many of their songs it takes to win you over.
Kitsune dao!
Thanks for the Sub and it won't probably take long. I was jamming to Catch Me this morning on way to work
It's a compilation video of the many venues they have performed in Japan.
Thanks. I've been told that this fox hole goes deep with Babymetal
@@rawchickenreactions6826 it's very deep!
So I've been told lol. Yeah it's gonna be interesting to see/hear the many different songs/videos from these girls
So, this is a good way to continue: "Headbanger" (Live at legend 1997): ruclips.net/video/QEsOaMbNFww/видео.html
And my final advice: always expect the unexpected and prepare to be surprised.
I've heard of J-pop but no clue what it is. I did screenshot the list you made for me Thank you.
3. Pa pa ya live
4. Headbanger 1997 live
5. Road of Resistance live in Japan (probably their most iconic live show just because of the crowd alone)
6. Mirror mirror (new album)
7. Monochrome official lyric video(new album)
8. Maya (new album)
The growls are on backing track - that was the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da ya" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃♀🏃♀🏃♀👹
The video itself was a fan made compilation with clips from a lot of different concerts (from about 2012 through to 2017 I think) which is why the stage designs and costumes kept on changing.

I am a veteran who grew up with music from the 70's and 80's and I can tell you that it is the best band in the last 20 years.....

Basically every reaction I do is Copyrighted but it's fun to do them and I love the responses from watchers

Thanks. It was awesome either way

Thanks for Sub also.
Lets react more live babymetal 🦊🦊🦊 performance
Love from India 🇮🇳
For sure. You have any request for me?
More babymetal pls🤟🦊🤟
I sure will. I've got plenty of request for it now.
wow the number's
smashing it
It's amazing how fast I went up after Babymetal
Well we are almost in same boat. This is my very first since I've started doing reactions. I actually was jamming to it on way to work this morning
I appreciate the info. Yeah the girls came out and that confused me. Never saw a young metal band before
They've sold out a bunch of locations across North America for the tour that starts in Texas in a couple of days.
I think this is a compilation of many different shows. Glad to see you checking out babymetal and hoping to see you for the next one.
Thanks for watching. And for sure am gonna do more. I usually do reactions on Tuesdays or Wednesdays on my off days from my job. I'm trying to keep up lol
👍 👍
BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons).
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these for a start.

Let me know after your concert is and I'll try to find a Live video for you
😂😂😂 the look on face!!! First time I saw them I had the same expression 😂
As a 60 year old metal fan, I fell in love with these girls the first video I saw. HeadBanger live. My second was Road of Resistance Live in Japan.

Yeah I've got a few folks telling me they are seeing them when they come to the States
get this man yo 600 subs
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't mind 500 lol

Hide and seek 😁 Are you ready?😀
Hahaha I've been getting told that alot lol. Guess I jump in head first
😁😁😁🤘🤘🤘

They have storyline, usually for the performances. Try Ijime DameZettai (no more bullying forever). The journey down the Foxhole started in their early teens(Suzuka, Moa, Yui) with Sakura Gakuin. Hope you like them.
I'm already jamming out to Catch Me when I'm heading to work. I'll checkthat out for sure. I appreciate the reference
I appreciate all the info and you taking the time to let me know
Great reaction. Try BabyMetal Ijime dame Zettai live at Sonisphere 2014. It’s a banger
I sure will. Just be patient with me. I record once a week between my regular job.
I've done a few Band-Maid, NEMOPHILA, and Lovebites. They have some great songs that I've heard so far. None have disappointed yet
You ain't seen nothing yet!
Don't say that lol

It's a compilation video you mean you haven't noticed all the changes the different venues and different outfits until now when the video is almost over 😅
That's what I try to tell folks lol. I'm trying to hear the music & lyrics. But then you see 3 kids walk on stage you lose all thought and now trying to figure out what your watching lol
No conozco a nadie qu al principio le guste Babymetal, a todos nos pasa. 😂
I hope this is nice cause it doesn't have an English translation 😆
More babymetal 😂
Wow, those are really really badly translated lyrics.
Awful reaction to a great band/song😢
I honestly thought it was a good, very confused, and very genuine reaction. He gave them a shot, and did not seem horribly disappointed by his decision to do so.
It's rather close tot he vast majority of first time Babymetal reactions, the confused looks and such is what usually makes them so funny. Most of us fan were taken aback the first time we heard them as well. Sure, he didn't gush about them by the end, but Babymetal for sure isn't for everyone, and he didn't say anything negative.
You gotta remember man, this chit hits WAY different and people have genuinely never heard or seen anything like it before.
