  • Rob and I head out to McLaren's Bay. On our way to McLaren's Bay we stop and check out the Opimika Falls. We then head to McLaren's Bay to check out the Ottawa River because we plan to head out in the canoe for an over night camping trip. There is a 100km trail along the river called the Ottawa-Temiskaming Highland Trail with a campsite by a beautiful river. Rob catches a Pike, we make it to camp, check out the river and a small portion of the trail, set up camp, have lunch and a swim and get interrupted by some unexpected visitors.

Agree on the camp etiquette, they should have asked, good work in not letting it ruin your day. Another good day camping/exploring.

We considered moving camps but we are glad we stayed. Can't let others impact our adventure. Beautiful spot.
      Thanks for watching ☺️

What's even more frustrating is booking a backcountry site in a provincial park and arriving to find a couple yachts anchored a few meters away, within full view of everything including the thunder box, with no intentions of floating their stuff at least a few hundred meters or so just about anywhere else on a long channel. We had this happen twice in a row on the same trip, some people just don't give a thought to others. Just like your experience, I'm guessing they seek these spots out for easy shore access, in our case, likely using the sites we book and pay for months in advance as a free dog park.@@pursuitforadventure

Some people wouldn't know etiquette from a pine tree. Keep Calm & Adventure On.

Thanks for the great vid. Can’t believe you guys had to deal with the camp invaders, getting worse over in Oz too. Keep up the good work.

That's a first for us! Hopefully we won't deal with that too often. We were worried about leaving all of our gear to go out fishing not knowing the people. Mad the best of it. A beautiful spot.
      Thanks for watching ☺️

LOL Rob was fine 🤣. About 1.5-2 oz I'd say. I need to get a shot glass for at camp, that's for sure.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it!

Ahh man I know the feeling of losing a fish. In my next video if you happen to watch it I show a smally flopping right out of my kayak before I got to get a good pic.
Also great job with the drone. That’s something I’ve been considering aswell.
    Great video guys !

      Definitely will watch it!
The drone has definitely been a learning curve that's for sure. It's difficult to find places to use it because of all of the laws around no fly zones.
      Thanks for watching ☺️
