A few random comments-You kids don't know what you're missing. When I was a youngun, you could drive out there to see the WHOLE Big Muskie, not just the bucket! 2) There's mounds all over Ohio. My favorite is Serpent Mound near Peebles (?), Ohio. 3) Most old farms around here have a structure that looks like that dungeon built over a spring- a "spring house" for keeping cheese and stuff in before electric refrigeration 4) The weird shape of the Ohio state flag actually has a name- it's called a burgee! Great video- Ohio is full of weird stuff!
We would have loved to see the whole Big Muskie, that would have been incredible. The serpent mound is actually what got us looking into mounds, unfortunately it was too far from where we were staying to see. Oh that's super interesting, we have spring houses here in VA but they look a little different. A Burgee! What a fun name for it - not sure how I missed that but I'm glad to know it now, thanks. We appreciate you watching and commenting!
"Why are you asking me?" 😆 Poor Candice. These attractions are so unique, and there's so much to comment on! Oh man, the anxiety I would have in those small Kroger aisles. That dungeon is in such a random place! Imagine living next to that. We really want to visit some of those Native American burial mounds someday! It's not too often you find things that old in America. I can't with all of Andrew's witty comments. You guys are a hoot. Great video guys!
Setting her up to get flustered is the best because she plans so much of our trips but I typically am the one to research all the facts about where we end up going. It works well for us but it also gives me many opportunities to put her on the spot! The employees of Kroger were the kindest we ever ran into and seemed to know EVERYONE in the store but us. It was a very tightknit store and tight aisled as well. We actually talked about how weird it would be living near that dungeon and just have random people stopping by and inadvertently getting their home in every shot. The mounds are incredible and we always enjoy trying to add them to our stops. I appreciate you calling my comments witty, I'm sure there are other words for my sense of humor as well 🤣 Thanks for watching!
I worked in that Kroger a few times. Back years ago when I did demos for Kroger they sent me to that store a few times. There was no room to even set up my table in there. One time they had me set up outside under that carport looking thing. Sometimes they just sent me away because it was a busy holiday weekend and they couldn’t be bothered having a sample lady in there.
We imagine that would be a small store to do demos in, it was tight with just a few people in the aisles so having a table with samples would be tough! Thanks so much for watching, have a great day 😊
@@RileyRoams oh and I also forgot to say my brother worked on the Muskie for many years. I love videos like this! I will have to check your channel to see what else you got. It’s like taking a road trip without leaving my chair lol. But also if some of the places are close it might motivate me to go.
@60kkm that's really cool that your brother got a chance to work on it! I wish we could have seen it as a whole machine, I imagine it would be incredible. We hope you find something else on our channel you enjoy 😊
There are mines all over Ohio! In Stark County (NE Ohio), we had houses sink in Canton because of collapsing coal mines. There are salt mines under Lake Erie.
The Underground Railroad ran through Marietta and even through my city of Lancaster ( home to General William T. Sherman and Anchor Hocking glass factory, Ohio Glass Museum)!
Wow.. I would have sworn we had the smallest Kroger in the state here in Eaton Ohio! We’re getting a new one..they are redoing an old Kmart. But it’ll be a couple of years before it’s done. We have ONE frozen aisle, no meat or bakery department, NO self check out and they just opened a pharmacy since we’re getting the new store, but it’s not IN Kroger, it’s in the same strip mall though. And this is the only Kroger in Preble county 😂😂
I live in Wapakoneta there is a house here in town...Temple of Tolerance aka Rock garden. The man that lives there spent the last 40 years making it. It is so beautiful!! Very odd but beautiful
I have been to Mound Cemetery when you are up on top of the burial mound you can see a good distance even across the Ohio River to see parts of WV to the East west see more of Marrietta etc I loved the cemetery
I didn't know that there are dungeons in the US. Dungeons you expect to be in the medieval towns of Europe, but I can see now that Ohio is definitely a little different. That mining bucket is huge. I'd like to see the marching band actually perform in the bucket. Or better even some contemporary rock band. Nice video as always with lots of interesting spots. By the way, I love that flag. Is that the Japanese flag inside?
There weren't very many dungeons here which is why it's neat. The mining bucket was insane Jan! It was so giant and we would have loved to see a band perform in it. Thanks so much, we're so happy you enjoyed it! Yes the flag is quite something. Nope - there's no reference to Japan, just the colors of the USA.
@@RileyRoams yes, I already thought it would be not possible that a Japanese element would be included in one of the States flags, but that red circle really resembled the rising sun in the Japanese flag.
Glad you liked the video! Lol noted. I don't think of it as a man bun as much as I just have long hair and it's the best way to keep it up and out of my face 😀 we appreciate you watching
🤣 We agree! Apparently when it was in tact it was quite a bit longer but they only rebuilt the first few feet. If it wasn't for the historical plaque there we would have assumed it was a cellar
I live there I never knew there was no dungeon and that bridge for driver's ed I hit that bridge and I remember the next time when for driving at Allen that was on the football team came in with his football helmet on and said okay Debbie I'm ready
How about Geauga County - I know of some places in Ashtabula - Anybody know of any old farms or mound sites in Geauga County especially Montville Area..
I go past those things and live there all of my life and I never knew those things were there I guess nobody really cares about him or thinks much about him and never says nothing about them

Yes, I have lived in Morgan county my whole life and remember watching the muskie working as a kid.
There some structures like that near the ruined lime kilns near here. For storing explosives.
Serpent Mound and the Ohio Caverns are pretty cool.
Very nice couple and beautiful sharing amazing video best wishes from Switzerland 🇨🇭 dear
We're so glad you enjoyed this one, we appreciate your support ☺️
Fantastic video! I have not spent much time in Ohio, but it looks like a great place to explore and find some new things.

It was amazing to see it being moved across the road to another section to mined
What company did you work for? I did demos for Mass Connections (MCI) back in the day.
You just won me as a subscriber when you said, you don't get political.. we need more of that , thanks
Thanks so much for subscribing!
I've been told by people that worked on the muskie that this is actually the small bucket from the muskie, not the largest one used.
That's interesting, a bucket bigger than this would be incredible to see in person!
Hi a new friend brings Roses 🌹🌹🌹🌹 I like your video 📷 many thanks for your efforts.
Have a nice day❤
Hello! We're so glad you like it. We appreciate you watching, have a nice day too 😁
I saw the Big Muskie in action in the early 70's when I was a kid.
That's super cool!! We've had a few people comment on here that they were fortunate enough to see it working.
The Mcconnelsville Opera House is another attraction. Ghost hunter shows have been there including Jack Osbourne's "Portals From Hell" (Ozzy's son)
Oh very cool! Not sure how we missed that in our research but we'll look into it for next time we're in the area. Thanks for letting us know!
Cool video! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
New subscriber here, loved the bloopers at the end. Being a fellow youtuber myself i totally can relate with messing up while trying to film
Thanks for subscribing! We often have many, many bloopers haha. It's important to not be too serious and show the process
If you'd gone to Belpre, just downstream from Marietta, you could've gone to the Hardee's with a Mound beside it.
Oh I wish we would have known that before, that would have been a good addition. Thanks for the tip 🙂
Love this, I live in Ohio now, southeast Ohio closer to Huntington Wv.
Very cool! There were so many interesting things to explore in that area. Thanks for watching!
My dad took me to see the Big Muskie being built. I still have the 8mm home movies of it.
There are mines all over Ohio! In Stark County (NE Ohio), we had houses sink in Canton because of collapsing coal mines. There are salt mines under Lake Erie.
Good to know! We love being surprised by places we go to and we were so shocked to see the mountains and coal mining areas.
let's go let's go adventure ✌👵
We're always on some kind of adventure! Thanks for watching 🙂
I drive by that horseshoe crab every day. Nothing says Ohio like a giant horseshoe crab
Lmao 🤣🤣
The Underground Railroad ran through Marietta and even through my city of Lancaster ( home to General William T. Sherman and Anchor Hocking glass factory, Ohio Glass Museum)!

This one was surprisingly small! It was even smaller than it looked when we went inside.

@RileyRoams look it up there is some videos about it on RUclips

It was a great view from up there, thanks for watching!
Lots of those mounds in Southern Ontario too.
That's great to know, we haven't spent a lot of time in Canada but when we do we'll see if we can find some 🙂

You should check out the Loveland Castle and the Eaton double barrel bridge
What a neat looking bridge! We added to our list for next time we're in that part of Ohio, thanks for the recommendation!

A dungeon? Looks more like a root cellar.
🤣 We agree! Apparently when it was in tact it was quite a bit longer but they only rebuilt the first few feet. If it wasn't for the historical plaque there we would have assumed it was a cellar
Look for the dragon in Circleville.
We'll keep an eye out for it when we make it back to Ohio!

Thanks so much!
I been to McConnellsville and they have a small Krogers there. I actually live in Ohio in the town of Lancaster
Looks like a crypt.
It definitely felt like I was walking into one!
Should come to bellefontaine Ohio they have the first concrete Street in America and the shortest Street in America
Very good recommendation, thanks for the idea!

That would be a scary bridge to hit! A football helmet sounds like a good idea 🤣
The Ohio flag is what's called a swallow-tailed burgee.
Very cool! Thanks for that information ☺️
Wait aren't Indian burial grounds like what you're supposed to avoid in scooby doo?
😂🤣 Ruh Roh! If visited with respect we think they're okay to go to.

Probably Ohio University... not Ohio State University...
I am pretty sure that is the Morgan High School Band from Mcconnelsville. The picture was featured in a Life Magazine article.
